  • Wireless 360 Headset Glitch UPDATED This is an updated version of my 360 headset video. I never leave camera and show the issues again for the people who had questions. If your hardware is working correctly, you can turn the controller and the mic on AT ANY TIME YOU WANT. When you turn on/off your mic HAS ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT. Stop telling me to turn on the controller first you have no idea what you are talking about. ::UPDATE:: Microsoft has called me and confirmed EXACTLY what I have shown on the video. I have spoken to engineers and they have replaced ALL of my controllers. All issues were instantly resolved. They took my old controllers and did in fact confirm an issue. Stop calling this fake, stop calling me stupid, stop telling me im doing it wrong. I know what I'm doing and this video has helped HUNDREDS of people. I was even commended and thanked, also shipped free merchandise from Microsoft them selves. So if you want to keep talking trash then feel free. I love Microsoft! But instead some youtube idiots seem to feel the need to cause problems. Glad this video helped so many good luck everyone!

  • Playstation 3 (PS3) Wireless Keypad Review In this video, I review the wireless keypad for the Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) console. This wireless keypad attaches to the PS3 Six Axis controller and is available for sale today for $49.99 USD. The device has a USB connector at the top which is used to charge it. It has its own battery which isn't replaceable much like the Six Axis controller. Thankfully, it has it's own power switch to turn the keypad on and off manually. It has buttons for the Select, Start, and Playstations buttons which work with your existing controller. Along the top of the device are two meta buttons, one blue, and one orange. To type the orange and blue keys on the keypad, one would have to use the each respective meta key. Shift is not used for these characters and is only used for capitalization. As for comfort, I couldn't type very well until I figured out that I needed to slide my thumbs up from the normal position. Once I did that, I was able to type fairly easily. A great feature of the wireless pad which I have not seen before, is that the entire keypad acts as a trackpad! To turn this on, there's a toggle button along the bottom which looks like a finger. The sensitivity of the trackpad is not great (given it's design, it's understandable), but it is usable for couch surfing and basic tasks. Also along the bottom are two more keys: A message box button and a friends list shortcut. If you have a PS3, and send messages to your friends, this is a good investment. It's also good for ...

  • Wireless power transfer via inductive coupling Note: Schematics and information about the circuit is now available at 4: 4 This is a small scale demonstration of wireless power transfer between two coupled parallel LC tuned circuits, each consisting of a copper conductor loop acting as an inductor and a capacitor. Both LC circuits are tuned to equal individual resonant frequencies. One of them is a part of a 1.5Mhz radio frequency oscillator powered by 12 volts DC, while another is loaded by a 24V 5W incandescent light bulb. Brought in proximity, copper loops share a small mutual inductance, essentially forming a transformer. In order to transmit significant amount of power through this transformer a very large amount of reactive power needs to circulate in it's primary, requiring use of a thick copper tube for the conductor, and a bank of eight 6.8nF capacitors in parallel. Receiver coil's leakage inductance is in turn canceled out by another capacitor, allowing for the maximum power transfer to the load. Experimenting with copper loop orientations, one can find positions of the receiver close to transmitter where no power is received, as total magnetic flux crossing through the receiver loop is zero. Hence this is a directional method of power transmission. Due to small size of the apparatus very little power is actually radiated in far field, with losses being mainly ohmic heating. Hence this method is also sometimes known as non-radiative or near-field power transmission.
  • Wireless PS2 Controlled Electric Mountainboard My name is Andres Guzman-Ballen and I'm a senior majoring in computer engineering at the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign. Thanks to the detrimental changes of the bus routes at UIUC, I had to resort to either skateboarding everywhere, walking, or riding a bike to get around campus. All would require more effort than I wanted to put in to get around and that's when I came up with the idea. This isn't an original idea since there are already electric skateboards out there in the market and some people have made their own electric mountainboards as well but in my opinion, they weren't efficient in any manner. Most use lead batteries, brush motors, a bulky skateboard design, and are wired (which to me isn't as cool). This makes it incredibly heavy (45-60 lb) since a 10 volt lead battery can weigh 10-15 pounds alone and a brush motor to power a skateboard usually needs at least around 24 volts to be decent. A good brush motor can weigh 10 lbs as well. There's a spiral where the heavier the board, the stronger the equipment has to be and this in itself makes it heavier. Many also limit their designs to the skateboard. I chose a mountainboard because the truck design allows the rider to carve more since the center of gravity is lower than a skateboard. Because it is designed to bend and absorb impacts and still be very strong (with the carbon fiber and fiberglass combo), riding it feels as if you are surfing in the street. I use a 25.6 V 10.2 Ah LiFePO4 battery and it ...
