Abhay Patel-Presidential Candidate Re-Elect for EMSOP 2014 Abhay Patel Class of 2014 Re-Election Address Hello Class of 2014, September 15, 2010: It seemed just like yesterday when we all accepted our white coats for the first time, signifying the start to our professional pharmacy school career. Now, almost at the end of the school year, we have all, as a class, come a very long way from where we started, and the Class Council has been with you all every step of the way. My name is Abhay Patel, and I am running for re-election as President for the Class of 2014. From organizing the white coat ceremony, to hosting the transfer social, holding class meetings, setting up review sessions, to solely hosting the Mr. PharmD competition, working with faculty to rearrange exam conflicts, providing in-class lunches, even offering resources on our Sakai page for our class to benefit from, my fellow class officers and I have been there and know what it takes to get the job done. We could not have done it without your support and desire to see it happen, and we thank you for that. It is a genuine love for what we do that encourages us to try new things, and our willfulness to serve our class is limitless. Calfsplay Willy and the calf

Feeling Feeling Cold I'm spending a lot of time right now feeling slightly cold (England, 1930's semi with bad insulation etc). Amongst the general unpleasantness though there are interesting aspects of the experience, particularly the difference between 'feeling cold' and 'feeling feeling cold'. By this I mean that I'm sure it's possible to make a distinction between the physiological sensations and processes that accompany a drop in temperature and the evaluation of those sensations as something negative. I guess it's the difference between what you feel and how you feel about what you feel. For me this interest stems from a moment about 3 years ago when this distinction made itself apparent to me in a completely embodied way. I'd been out in the cold without a coat and was feeling all of the sensations and negative emotions associated with a freezing British January. Suddenly, without any willfulness on my part, the emotional component completely dropped away; I could still feel the sensations as vividly as before but they were no longer tagged with the markers of negativity, they were simply interesting sensations, as uninflected with pain or sentiment as seeing a colour or running your hand over a textured surface. I've been trying to recapture this experience, not very succesfully, since, although the clarity of it is still with me and absolutely informs my understanding of 'feeling' and 'feeling'.

Passion - At the Garden The Seven Places Jesus Shed His Blood #1 - In the Garden Luke 22:44 Jesus shed great drops of blood like sweat in the garden of Gethsemane. In Gethsemane, Jesus Won Back Our Willpower It all started in a garden. In Gen. 3:6-17 Adam and Eve chose to eat of the fruit that God had said no to. The incredible thing that was lost for all mankind was the ability to come into agreement with the Fathers will and choose against the enemies will. At that moment Adam sacrificed the willpower of mankind. he made a conscious choice to partake a decision to go against God, and when he did so, that brought sin into the world and gave satan a place in this world. Jesus then sweat blood in the garden of Gethsemane and in doing so, He undid what Adam had done in the garden of Eden. The first place Jesus shed his blood was in the Garden of Gethsemane, Matt. 26: 30-44. Our first lost was through Adam & Eves disobedience in a garden and now we see Jesus redeeming our will in a garden. He went into the garden fully aware that he was going to redeem our wills. Three times we see Jesus crying out to his Father saying, Not as I will but as thou wilt. In Luke 22:43-44 it says that Jesus was in so much agony that sweat as drops of blood were falling to the ground. He did so right at that very moment because just as Adam made a conscious decision to partake of the fruit and bring sin in, Jesus was making a conscious decision to be the sacrifice to remove that sin. Don Quixote, Part I: Chapters XI-XX Cervantes' Don Quixote (SPAN 300) González Echevarría starts out by commenting on what he calls the two overarching plots of the Quixote: the story about the writing of the novel, and the story about the mad hidalgo. The first is based upon several levels of narratives that distance Cervantes from his own creation. He does so as the painter Diego Velázquez in Las Meninas which shows multiple incomplete perspectives of the same work, portrays the work behind the scenes of creation, it includes the viewer in the painting as well as the author, as another character, not in a central position, but in an oblique one.
