Of course, it can happen only in certain phases of the motion because of human's body nature. One of these phases is the backswing top where the entire lead arm should exactly be perpendicular to the spine (and the rear humerus is parallel to the spine). The shoulder line should be perpendicular to the spine as well which means that the lead humerus is pinned to the chest and can work together the main body automatically. A sort of one plane backswing position where there are no excessive flatness or uprightness of the plane - because of the square relation to the core. Today's golf instruction does not often understand biokinetics and sometimes find ridiculous arguments against low plane golfers while the truth is that the vast majority of the best ballstrikers in history of golf were never upright players. Note: Iz is saying "E mau ke ea o ka `āina i ka pono" not to be confused with "Ua mau ke ea o ka `āina i ka pono". "E mau" means "It should continue to be" or "Let it be now and henceforth" where as "Ua mau" means "It has been and shall continue to be". The writer of the song is suggesting that the life of the land was broken (or was stolen) hence he uses "E mau" and is suggesting action. Its actually a very deep statement and shows how when you just change a verb marker in Hawaiian, you can imply a lot of things without having to actually bluntly say it.
