  • "Essaouira and return to Marrakech" Wareameye's photos around Marrakech, Morocco A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Marrakech, Morocco by TravelPod blogger Wareameye titled "Essaouira and return to Marrakech". TravelPod is a company of TripAdvisor™. Wareameye's travel blog entry: "A heavenly day today from beginning to end. First of all I get seven hours of sleep, which is almost unheard of during the progress of a tour. We have a free morning to enjoy charming Essaouira, but the beach is a little chilly for swimming. The wind is high, and you almost need a sweater or jacket to be warm while walking on the waterfront. Some people go into the old town, and others lounge by the pool. I get work done and have a very late breakfast, intending for this to be my only meal before dinner (too many buffet meals are adding up). Our drive back to Marrakech is uneventful, except for when our driver, the assistant and the guide serenaded us separately on the microphone. I am lucky to get a room overlooking the pool this time, which is great since I will be here for three nights. I get more work done after check-in, and we all gather poolside for drinks before dinner. Tonight is a free evening, and seven of us decide to check out a recommended restaurant called "Tosca." I cannot say enough about this place -- it is Italian cuisine, and the food was absolutely fantastic. If you are coming to Marrakech, you absolutely must eat here. Check it out at [email protected] The address is 4 rue Badr, Gueliz, Marrakech. Phone: +212.524.430.039 ...

SAINT BRIDGET PATRON SAINT OF EUROPE BOOK 7 Chapter 16 PART IV Concerning the queen of Cyprus. The Son speaks: "Advise the queen not to return to her native land for this is not to her advantage. But let her stay in the place in which she has been set, serving God with all her heart. Second, she is not to marry, taking a second husband, for it is more acceptable to God to weep for the things that have been done and, by penance, to make up for time that has been uselessly spent. Third, she should guide the people of her kingdom toward mutual concord and charity; and she should labor that justice and good morals be laudably maintained and that the community not be weighed down with unusual burdens. Fourth, for God's sake, she should forget the evils that were committed against her husband and not burn for revenge. For I am the Judge, and I shall judge for her. Fifth, she should nurture her son with divine charity and appoint as his councilors men who are just and not covetous, and as members of his household, men who are modest, composed, and wise, from whom he may learn to fear God, to rule justly, to sympathize with the unfortunate, to flee from flatterers and sycophants ...

  • Krishna Pedestal, Tra Kieu, Champa, Vietnam The work of Cham religious art which scholars conventionally call the "Tra Kieu Pedestal," but which might more descriptively be called the "Krishna Pedestal," consists of a square base carved with scenes from the life of Krishna as recounted in the Bhagavata Purana and the Vishnu Purana, upon which are mounted an ablutionary cistern and, at the very top, a lingam representative of Siva. Formerly, a circular decorative element carved with representation of female breasts separated the base from the cistern and lingam. The pedestal dates from the 10th century AD, and was found near My Son and Da Nang at the village of Tra Kieu, the probable site of a medieval Cham citadel called Simhapura. Today the pedestal is housed in the Champa Museum of Da Nang, Vietnam. Scholars have distinguished a number of historical styles in the art of Champa. One such style, which flourished from the 10th to the 11th century, has been called the "Tra Kieu Style." According to scholar Emmanuel Guillon, "It is an art of dance and movement, of grace, and of faces which sometimes wear a slight, almost ironic smile, as though surprised by their own beauty." The Tra Kieu Pedestal exemplifies this style. Each of the four sides of the pedestal's base is carved with a separate scene from the life of Krishna. On one side, Krishna encounters the hunchback woman Kubja. When she provides him with sweet-smelling unguents, he is pleased with her, and as a reward straightens her back. On another side of the ...

Yet if there is ineligibility in this regard Lord Krishna has compassionately given in descending order alternate methods each succeeding one easier than the preceding one such as continuous practice of thinking exclusively of Him, perform regularly actions of devotion and at least relinquish the desire for the rewards of one's actions. Now we see that He extols and praises renunciation of rewards because it bestows purity of mind and combined with bhakti leads one directly to the Supreme Lord. And when that old Hebrew woman saw the manifestation of those miracles of Celestial Lights, she thanked God, saying: I give Thee thanks, O God, the God of Israel, because mine eyes have seen the birth of the Saviour of the world. 5. And the time of circumcision, that is, the eighth day, being at hand, the child was to be circumcised according to the law. Wherefore they circumcised Him in the cave. And the old Hebrew woman took the piece of skin; but some say that she took the navel-string, and laid it past in a jar of old oil of nard. And she had a son, a dealer in unguents, and she gave it to him, saying: See that thou do not sell this jar of unguent of nard, even although three hundred denarii (5) should be offered thee for it. TravelPod is a company of TripAdvisor™. Nomisyespoc's travel blog entry: "On the afternoon of my arrival at Chilcabamba there was no sign of Cotopaxi the cloud still being too low. I unloaded the guests luggage, the equipment, bales of alfalfa and made myself known to the manager of the hosteria -- a charming fellow who went by the rather unlikely name of Diomedes -- collected the key to the gate of the 'Camino de Comuna' and headed off up the track to find both gate and road in time to open it for Sally and the guests as they made their way down. Fraser and I waited at the gates until we heard the feint sound of voices and the clopping of horse's hooves as the riders hove into view. Everyone had clearly had a good day as we set off together to cover the short distance to Chilcabamba. With horses there is always work to be done and whilst the guests headed off to find their accommodation, there was another hours worth for Sally, Christian, Cesar and I as we still had to un-tack, feed and water them before leading them away down the mountain road to the field where they were going to spend the night. Over a convivial dinner that evening, the three guests -- Carole and Franke from France and Bill an Australian - recounted the adventures' of their first day. • How to be Gorgeous - Kinetic Typography A small chunk of Stephen Fry's "How to be Gorgeous" monologue from "A Bit of Fry and Laurie." This is my first go at Kinetic Typography in Adobe After Effects and I'm, let's be splendid about this, pleased in a ticklish, kind of awesome way. EDIT: This little video has recently received quite a bit off attention, most of which I'm assuming comes from Tumblr and other sites on which it's been posted. With all the extra views, a couple of dreadful typos have been pointed out: -"Unguents" (Spelled "unduants") -"Balsams" (Spelled "balsams") I say typos, however they come from a rough transcript of the sketch I found somewhere on the interwebs. (Google "bolsoms unduants" and you'll get a pile of sites which provide the same incorrect transcripts.) That being said, I thank these users for pointing the mistakes out (it's completely fine by me, regardless of what Mr. Fry has said about the subject.) and am thrilled that such a simple project has gained so much popularity. Thanks everyone! TL;DR: Pleased with the success, embarrassed about the mistakes, future videos will take this into account.

  • Frank Zappa & Captain Beefheart - Debra Kadabra [live] Frank Zappa (December 21, 1940 December 4, 1993) was an American composer, electric guitarist, record producer, and film director. In a career spanning more than 30 years, Zappa wrote rock, jazz, electronic, orchestral, and musique concrète works. He also directed feature-length films and music videos, and designed album covers. Zappa produced almost all of the more than 60 albums he released with the band Mothers of Invention and as a solo artist. In his ***s, he acquired a taste for percussion-based avant-garde composers such as Edgard Varèse and 1950s rhythm and blues music. He began writing classical music in high school, while at the same time playing drums in rhythm and blues bands—he later switched to electric guitar. He was a self-taught composer and performer, and his diverse musical influences led him to create music that was often impossible to categorize. His 1966 debut album with the Mothers of Invention, Freak Out!, combined songs in conventional rock and roll format with collective improvisations and studio-generated sound collages. His later albums shared this eclectic and experimental approach, irrespective of whether the fundamental format was one of rock, jazz or classical. He wrote the lyrics to all his songs, which—often humorously—reflected his iconoclastic view of established social and political processes, structures and movements. He was a strident critic of mainstream education and organized religion, and a forthright and passionate advocate for ...
