  • The Tao te Ching (pt. 3) 21 The Master keeps her mind always at one with the Tao; that is what gives her her radiance. The Tao is ungraspable. How can her mind be at one with it? Because she doesn't cling to ideas. The Tao is dark and unfathomable. How can it make her radiant? Because she lets it. Since before time and space were, the Tao is. It is beyond is and is not. How do I know this is true? I look inside myself and see. 22 If you want to become whole, let yourself be partial. If you want to become straight, let yourself be crooked. If you want to become full, let yourself be empty. If you want to be reborn, let yourself die. If you want to be given everything, give everything up. The Master, by residing in the Tao, sets an example for all beings. Because he doesn't display himself, people can see his light. Because he has nothing to prove, people can trust his words. Because he doesn't know who he is, people recognize themselves in him. Because he has no goad in mind, everything he does succeeds. When the ancient Masters said, "If you want to be given everything, give everything up," they weren't using empty phrases. Only in being lived by the Tao can you be truly yourself. 23 Express yourself completely, then keep quiet. Be like the forces of nature when it blows, there is only wind; when it rains, there is only rain; when the clouds pass, the sun shines through. If you open yourself to the Tao, you are at one with the Tao and you can embody it completely. If you open ...
  • Failed Drug Policies - Alan Watts 1/6 Alan Watts Jan 6, 1915 Time: 06:20AM Chiselhurst, England There was no greater interpreter of Eastern Wisdom for the Western mind last century than Alan Watts. Throughout his lifetime of study, service, and "philosophical entertaining," Alan Watts put the mystical, ungraspable wisdom of the Ancients into terms that the modern Western mind could absorb and understand. Alan's Vedic birth chart yields four placements in the sign of Sagittarius, greatly shaping his development into teacher, philosopher, priest, and performer. Sagittarius is a fire sign, as is Leo, the sign where Alan's Moon and Ketu are located, giving him a total of six planets in fire signs, three planets in air signs, and one planet in a water sign. This shows a mixture of strong fire qualities with ample air to fan the flame. Here we have a bright flame that burned clearly and strongly, as Alan Watts truly did, for a short but intense and joyful life. Alan died in his sleep on November 16, 1973 at his home in California. He was 58 years old.

  • Our Place in the Cosmos Somewhere something incredible is waiting to be known. [Narrator] With every century our eyes on the universe have been opened anew. We are witness to the very brink of time and space. [Robert Jastrow] We must ask ourselves, we who are so proud of our accomplishments, what is our place in the cosmic perspective of life? [Carl Sagan] The exploration of the cosmos is a voyage of self-discovery. As long as there have been humans we have searched for our place in the cosmos. [Richard Dawkins] Are there things about the universe that will be forever beyond our grasp? Are there things about the universe that are ungraspable? [Sagan] One of the great revelations of space exploration is the image of the earth, finite and lonely bearing the entire human species through the oceans of space and time. [Dawkins] Matter flows from place to place and momentarily comes together to be you. Some people find that thought disturbing. I find the reality thrilling. [Sagan] As the ancient mythmakers knew we're children equally of the earth and the sky. In our tenure on this planet, we've accumulated dangerous evolutionary baggage. We've also acquired compassion for others, love for our children, nd a great soaring passionate intelligence, the clear tools for our continued survival. [Robert Jastrow] We must ask ourselves, we who are so proud of our accomplishments, what is our place in the cosmic perspective of life? [Michio Kaku] We could be in the middle of an inter-galactic conversation and ...

  • ravel-bolero ravel bolero ... Joseph-Maurice Ravel (March 7, 1875 -- December 28, 1937) was a French composer of Impressionist music known especially for his melodies, orchestral and instrumental textures and effects. Much of his piano music, chamber music, vocal music and orchestral music has entered the standard concert repertoire. Ravel's piano compositions, such as Jeux d'eau, Miroirs, Le tombeau de Couperin and Gaspard de la nuit, demand considerable virtuosity from the performer, and his orchestral music, including Daphnis et Chloé and his arrangement of Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, uses a variety of sound and instrumentation. Ravel is perhaps known best for his orchestral work Boléro (1928), which he considered trivial and once described as "a piece for orchestra without music."[1] According to SACEM, Ravel's estate earns more royalties than that of any other French composer. According to international copyright law, Ravel's works are public domain since January 1, 2008 in most countries. In France, due to anomalous copyright law extensions to account for the two world wars, they will not enter the public domain until 2015 Active during a period of great artistic innovations and diversification, Ravel benefited from many sources and influences, though his music defies any facile classification. As Vladimir Jankélévitch notes in his biography, "no influence can claim to have conquered him entirely [...]. Ravel remains ungraspable behind all these masks which ...

  • Experience Peace Free & Easy Happiness cannot be found through great effort and willpower, but is already present, in open relaxation and letting go. Don't strain yourself, there is nothing to do or undo. Whatever momentarily arises in the body-mind has no real importance at all, has little reality whatsoever. Why identify with, and become attached to it, passing judgment upon it and ourselves? Far better to simply let the entire game happen on its own, springing up and falling back like waves--without changing or manipulating anything--and notice how everything vanishes and reappears, magically, again and again, time without end. Only our searching for happiness prevents us from seeing it. It's like a vivid rainbow which you pursue without ever catching, or a dog chasing its own tail. Although peace and happiness do not exist as an actual thing or place, it is always available and accompanies you every instant. Don't believe in the reality of good and bad experiences; they are like today's ephemeral weather, like rainbows in the sky. Wanting to grasp the ungraspable, you exhaust yourself in vain. As soon as you open and relax this tight fist of grasping, infinite space is there-- open, inviting and comfortable. Make use of the spaciousness, this freedom and natural ease. Don't search any further. Don't go into the tangled jungle looking for the great awakened elephant, who is already resting quietly at home in front of your own hearth. Nothing to do or undo, nothing to force, nothing to ...

  • Wabi-Sabi The beauty as the state of consciousness, seen in mundane, imperfect, ephemeral and incomplete. This is wabi-sabi, ungraspable moment of humble awe of deeply natural intimateness. Fundamentally rooted in Zen, with appreciation of graceful ageing and hidden wisdom, wabi-sabi is the tremendous opposite of the consumer society's icons. Yet it still survives, and even we, if we have a time to stand still, can understand and admire the beauty of spontaneous harmony and subtlety. Can we imagine a better representation of the wabi-sabi principles in nature than a whale? Truly, cetaceans are perfect personification of loneliness and grace. How shocking is the contrast between the tranquil melancholy of these large mammals and the bloody butchery in the name of scientific research and consumer society. Maybe we can also suggest that some of the wabi-sabi principles are reflected in the traditional Japanese art of origami, where delicateness, patience and the ephemeral beauty play the leading role. How would we then portray the contrast between the art of delicateness, patience and the short-lived beauty and between the whaling? Do the benefits of the whaling industry outweigh the desire for protecting these beautiful animals? Is the whale oil, meat, and even the results of the so-called research for that matter, really worth more than a simple act of admiration? It is the utter overturn of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. And yet, owing to the fact that the whole situation leaves us ...

  • Invisible for the eye Invisible for the eye shines in all a Light Un-findable for our thinking is this Light a moment where AUM resides. Ungraspable in the outside world is this Light the unconditional Love we all search for Invisible for the colors is this Light the Source of all forms Unthinkable for the mind is this Light the stream from where all existence flows Unbelievable for the senses is this Light the unlimited experience of Happiness Where to find this Light? Invisible for your senses is this Light residing in the Darkness Unknowable for your mind is this Darkness the doorway to the Light Unimaginable for you is this Darkness the place to drop everything you believe to be 'you' Invisible within this Darkness is the door to the Light that is self-existent Un-findable within this Darkness, it this door the place to knock and wait for the Light Unknowable to you will this door one day open, to be absorbed by the Light This Darkness is the doorway to the Divine Mother This Darkness is the causal playground, emerging out of the True Light, from where perceived sound and light are projected This Darkness is the gate to formless Happiness and Love Don't try to find the Light... go beyond all you know as light And merge into the Darkness So the True Light can find you in this space without time, form or projected light To experience that All comes from One Source, there is no second To be absorbed by the sparkling Light of 'Inlightenment' To know the Light behind all the projected lights
  • Pure, Clear, Ungraspable Tell me what is this thing we call the moment at hand, that's slipping through your fingers like so many grains of sand. Like a line drawn in the water or the flight path of a bird This that is appearing is disappearing too, like everything its pure, clear ungraspable this here and now pure, clear ungraspable it's what you are. Where are all these thoughts and feelings that swirl in your head Can you show them to me, no for they have already fled. So many names we give them each momentary thing so much effort to define and understand until its seen that it's pure, clear ungraspable nothing to find, nothing that binds pure, clear ungraspable, made of love. Now you can relax your mind and rest with what unfolds knowing there is nothing that you can ever hold for everything is pure, clear and ungraspable.
  • No Room. In realising there is no room for faith, there is no sharp blanket of easy belief - anywhere between Mary and an eternity of stars. Marked out by a comet of contrast, to us. In the eye explosions of Hubble space telescope - pictures of an ungraspable, utterly edgeless and immensely scaling height inflame our senses while robbed of all perspective we look into the eyes of our universe like a baby preprogrammed to recognise the features of our parent's faces we must shake to our very core, and reject all given lore - to allow a glimpse at a more realistic truth that probably has nothing to do with us - to catastrophically shatter all illusions, mindlessly smear our delusions out of all direction but up there the wind of seeds, blows in all directions, at once with none and thunder passes across echoes of life given chances to see, unbelievable nature without nurture without us - realising. There is no more room for faith. by Gareth Rosser
  • MK Mugen: Giygas's Ungraspable Fatality The series is back (sorta)... WITH A BANG!! If you want to know who Giygas is, he is that scary, swirling red mass in the background (he can BE the background) and he appeared in Earthbound as the final boss. His attacks are "ungraspable" to others He says many confused words like "I feel... H...A...P...P...P...Y" and "It hurts..." and he says the hero's name over and over again. When he attacks it says "You cannot grasp the true form of Giygas's attack!" He was well known for being scary to little kids although he doesn't scare me :D Credit goes to Mortal Kombat Warehouse for the sprites and Chinelin for the Giygas backgorunds (he ripped them from the game using some background disablements on a SNES emulator) For some reason I feel like making more fatalities with this ungraspable mass! XD
  • Jesus And His Religion - Alan Watts 2/6 This is the talk that woke me up. Alan Watts Jan 6, 1915 Time: 06:20AM Chiselhurst, England There was no greater interpreter of Eastern Wisdom for the Western mind last century than Alan Watts.
  • Weekly Torah Portion: Ki Tisa This Shabbat we read parashat Ki Tisa, and also the special reading of Parah - the red heifer. The sin of the golden calf, which takes place in Ki Tisa, is the sin of man attempting to hold Gd in his hand, to be able to comprehend and rationally explain Gd, to be able to point to G-ds infiniteness and say, "Ahh - there it is!" - as if that were humanly possible. Parah Adumah, considered to be the antidote to the golden calf, is testimony to the unknowable and ungraspable reality of Gd. Ki Tisa (Exodus 30:11-34:35) Parashat Ki Tisa is read on Shabbat: Adar 18, 5769/March 14, 2009 http:/

  • Jackie Evancho "The Prayer" LA AGT Live Oct 7, 2010 Jackie Evancho... She is not a show, a song, or even a "singer". She is Jackie "The Experience". Video recordings are but a meager representation, a futile attempt to capture the ungraspable Living Force that is Jackie, The Experience. Like a fresh breeze on your face and the early morning sunshine can not truly be experienced from a simple picture, Jackie's True Power can not be felt through limited video renderings. It can ONLY be experienced LIVE. Make EVERY attempt, MOVE Heaven and Earth to attend one of her events. You will NOT regret it. I promise... =) To The Amazing JACKIE be ALL the Glory! Edit Jun 9, 2011 - ohh by the way the Glory part is meant as in "say how great Jackie is, don't thank me, it's all about her" I know some people take it as a religious thing but it wasn't meant like that. I'm keeping the original text as originally inspired by her =) Jackie's New album "Dream With Me" available for pre-order: Jackie's Only Official Site: Jackie's Facebook: Jackie's Brand New Christmas Album:
  • Free Awareness - Relax for 2-to-5 Seconds! www.free- - One of Free Awareness' most used pointers, is to relax all focus points for 2 -to-5 seconds, again and again. True Relaxation means that we let go for a moment of believing in our thoughts. We relax focusing on things, thoughts, stories and emotions, and instead we rest as we are, undisturbed by all these experiences. Consistently apply this relaxation-technique to come to an experiential realization of the free essence of every perception, within and as exactly this here-and-now experience. We come to realize the brilliant ISNESS of every moment until we're certain enough of its free and ungraspable nature, that we automatically stop suffering about experiences and enjoy an ever greater ease of Being. If you feel like contributing to Free Awareness' development, you can donate here www.free-
