By unilateral I mean WITHOUT the approval of a majority of the Commissioners. Other issues were discussed including approval of a lease for office space... though the keys had already been given to the Executive Director of the Commission and he was already using the address on his paperwork... without majority vote of the Commission. (2) Jesus Scholars Borg and Crossan (Q & A) Jesus was extraordinary because of how he lived, not died, says Crossan, one of the world's top scholars on the "historical Jesus," a field in which academics use historical evidence to reconstruct Jesus in his first-century setting. "I cannot imagine a more miraculous life than nonviolent resistance to violence," Crossan says. "I cannot imagine a bigger miracle than a man standing in front of a tank in Tiananmen Square." Some critics say he's trying to debunk Christianity. Some question his personal faith. At a college lecture, Crossan says an audience member stood up and asked him if he had "received the Lord Jesus" as his savior. Crossan said he had, but refused to repeat his questioner's evangelical language to describe his conversion. "I wasn't going to give him the language; it's not my language," Crossan says. "I wasn't trying to denigrate him, but don't think you have the monopoly on the language of Christianity." When asked if he is a Christian, Crossan doesn't hesitate. "Absolutely." Crossan says he never planned to be a Jesus scholar but was drafted to play that role -- by the Roman Catholic Church. He had other plans. He grew up in a small town in Ireland reading adventure stories like "20000 Leagues under The Sea" and reciting poetry with his father on long walks. He wanted adventure and travel. The missionary priests who visited his boyhood school with stories of mission trips to Africa seemed to offer both. Crossan says his father, a banker, and ...

US media fail: Gulf War I propaganda Sunday January 16th marks the 20 year anniversary of the first Gulf War, where a UN-authorized coalition force led by the US and United Kingdom fought against Iraq for the purpose of pushing Iraqi troops out of Kuwait. However nay argue the war was really an international attempt to secure access to Kuwaiti oil resource, a notion left highly undiscussed at the time of the conflict. Jeff Cohen, a media critic and journalism professor at Ithaca College said the US media did not investigate, they merely carried US government propaganda, working as an arm of the American political machine. "Most of the things that the American people believed about the war were false."

Manufacturing Consent (Noam Chomsky) Part 4 The Media Lies and is controlled. The mass media serve as a system for communicating messages and symbols to the general populace. It is their function to amuse, entertain, and inform, and to inculcate individuals with the values, beliefs, and codes of behavior that will integrate them into the institutional structures of the larger society. In a world of concentrated wealth and major conflicts of class interest, to fulfill this role requires systematic propaganda. In countries where the levers of power are in the hands of a state bureaucracy, the monopolistic control over the media, often supplemented by official censorship, makes it clear that the media serve the ends of a dominant elite. It is much more difficult to see a propaganda system at work where the media are private and formal censorship is absent. This is especially true where the media actively compete, periodically attack and expose corporate and governmental malfeasance, and aggressively portray themselves as spokesmen for free speech and the general community interest. What is not evident (and remains un discussed in the media) is the limited nature of such critiques, as well as the huge inequality in command of resources, and its effect both on access to a private media system and on its behavior and performance.

TARPLEY ON TIBET THE LIES AND MYTHS FALSE PROPHETS DALI LAMA !!! Our Lord Jesus Christ teaches Saint Bride how active life and contemplative ought to be kept through the example of Mary and Martha; and first, of contemplative life. Book 6 - Chapter 65 SAINT BRIDGET PATRON SAINT OF EUROPE PART VI Mary must also examine all his works and thoughts and desires, and how he has offended God, and how patiently God suffered man, and how in many ways God calls man to him. For such thoughts and others like them are the guests of Mary, which are all in darkness; but if they are lightened with the fire of the Holy Spirit, which fire comes to the heart when Mary thinks it is reasonable to serve God, and when he would rather suffer all pain than wittingly provoke God to anger, by whose goodness his soul is made and bought again with his blessed blood. The heart also is lit by this good fire, when reason thinks and discerns by what intent each guest, that is, each thought, comes, when the heart examines if the thought goes to everlasting joy or to transitory joy; if it leave no thought undiscussed, none unpunished, none without dread. Therefore, that this fire may be got, and kept when it is obtained, it is necessary for Mary to gather together dry wood, by which this fire is fed; that is, that he be concerned about the stirrings of the flesh, that the flesh begin not to be wanton; and that he put to all diligence, that the works of pity and devout prayer be enlarged and increased, in which the Holy Spirit delights. But above all it is to know and ...

Media propaganda sells wars to America — RT The American media machine has worsened over the years in its ability to report facts over government propaganda. January 16th marked the 20 year anniversary of the first Gulf War, where a UN-authorized coalition force led by the US and UK went to war with Iraq to force Iraqi troops out of Kuwait. However, many argue the war was actually an attempt to secure access to Kuwaiti oil resource, a notion left undiscussed by the media at that time. Americans were deliberately kept in the dark by the US media and Pentagon, who used PR agencies to spin a government approved message. Deliberate propaganda hoaxes included stories about Iraqis killing Kuwaiti babies and stealing incubators to weapons of mass destruction. John R. MacArthur, the publisher of Harper's Magazine and author of "Second Front: Censorship and Propaganda in the Gulf" said the media has gotten worse at questioning the message, even the 2003 media coverage leading up to the invasion of Iraq was full of propaganda and disinformation. "In 2003 you had the Secretary of State, Colin Powel, telling outrageous lies. You had the New York Times, the most respected newspaper in the United States repeating the most outrageous lies about Saddam Hussein's atomic bomb program, which of course didn't exist. It turned out it was non-existent," he explained. "It's a catastrophe what happened in Iraq this time around. This is all based on propaganda campaigns that were not properly challenged by the American media." He explained ...
Beneath The Keys - Original This is an original song that I wrote. Please do not steal it, this is my hard work, not yours. I know I don't have the best voice but I try to be confident and believe in myself. The lyrics are below: Some things are better left unsaid, untouched, unloved, and undiscussed. I thought we had a good start. You will never be the same after falling beneath the keys of unstable weeks. You always lied between your lips and you never loved me like you said you did, you told me it was just a storm thats pouring from the noise but more than a storm was soon to come. Frustration pulls when you're not here to be with me, see me, sweep away my fears. Outrage just lulls when you're not there to talk to me, console me, and wipe away my tears. Oh you know that I know the old ways wont save you now. Oh you know, that I know you will see somehow. Frustration pulls when you're not here to be with me, see me, sweep away my fears. Outrage just lulls when you're not there to talk to me, console me, and wipe away my tears. You always lied between your lips and you never loved me if you ever did, you told me it was just a storm rising from the outpour but more than a storm was soon to run from me. (sweep away my fears, wipe away my tears, ect...) Frustration pulls when you're not here to be with me, see me, sweep away my fears. Outrage just lulls when you're not there to talk to me, console me, and wipe away my tears.

Capcom: Dark Void Zero [Nintendo DSi] - Trailer 12.22.2009 From/De: Capcom Dark Void History Lesson #1 As the 80s were drawing to a close, the developers at Capcom began work on a top secret project that aimed to set new standards for the platformer genre. That game was called Dark Rift, and it blended the intense shooting action of Section Z™ with the latest innovations in platform jumping from Mega Man. In order to properly fulfill the producers vision for Dark Rift (later renamed Dark Void), the hardware engineering team at Capcom was enlisted to design and produce an all-new chipset that would be included in every cartridge, enabling huge numbers of sprites and never-before-seen special effects to be displayed on the aging NES® platform and the PlayChoice-10 NES arcade cabinet. Alas, time waits for no man and game developers are no exception. The dawn of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System® made the additional hardware requirements for Dark Void redundant. Capcom suspended development on Dark Void as it began to evaluate the SNES. Before long, the game was shelved and drifted into the annals of gaming history. Even the internal tape-based archives were lost due to an unfortunate magnet incident which even today is best left un-discussed. Dark Void became a legendary lost project at Capcomuntil now. Nearly twenty years later the next gen version of the game, Dark Void, is back on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC! But to commemorate the games humble origins, Capcom has commissioned this recreation of the original 8-bit classic ...
Peter Berger lecture at CEU, June 10, 2009 This week the departments of IRES and Sociology & Social Anthropology, in cooperation with the Religious Studies Program, organized a seminar and lecture with the renowned American sociologist and author of The Social Construction of Reality and The Sacred Canopy, Peter L. Berger. The topic of the seminar was Bergers most recent (co-authored) book, entitled Religious America, Secular Europe?. Published in 2008, the work addresses some common assumptions about the levels of religiosity in the US and Europe and attempts to trace their bases. After a brief introduction to Bergers current and past work, the audience (consisting mostly of CEU PhD students and professors) was invited to direct their questions to the leading scholar on secularization theory. At the center of the discussion was the theory of multiple modernities (Eisenstadt), or the idea that while modernity does have some universal features, which impact the social and cultural sphere, it comes in more than one version (Berger et al., 142), as is evidenced by the comparative study of Europe and the US. Europe, Berger and Grace Davie argue, is the exception to the rule in its comparative secularity, rather then the US in its comparative religiosity. As the comparison of Europe and the US reveals, secularization is not necessarily entailed by the process of modernization, as had been previously assumed (an assumption which Berger himself shared in the 60s). COMMON SENSE: Act 3 (Bin Laden and Bombs! It must be election time) I discuss the political shell game that the media is utilized by politicians to continue to instill fear in America. Many GOP members who identify themselves as being the party of security are hoping that their showing of Bin Laden sightings, fake threats in arabaic, and simulations of bombings to bolster their claims of impending danger. Question is, why is so many pictures of Bin Laden surfacing and they can never find him? Could it be the secret and undiscussed relationship between the Bush and Bin Laden families that has given him "diplomatic immunity?" Homework: Rent, purchase and watch the movie, "Wag the Dog" and let me know what your thoughts are concerning this alleged democratic process.
# video world 2011 01 24 sot.moscow.eyewitness.sound.rt hpt=T12.mp4 The American media machine has worsened over the years in its ability to report facts over government propaganda.

Manufacturing Consent (Noam Chomsky) Part 6 The Media Lies and is controlled.
Detroit Charter Revision Commission Meeting 3-24-2010 Part 2 Chairman of the Detroit Charter Revision Commission, Freman Hendrix, explains/defends his unilateral decision to contract Audio/Video services... for an undiscussed/undisclosed fee. By unilateral I mean WITHOUT the approval of a majority of the Commissioners. In a previous meeting, Chairman Freman Hendrix stated that Audio/Video services were being provided by the City of Detroit's Water and Sewerage Department at no cost until the Commission got on it's feet and could hire/find suitable Audio/Video services. Other issues were discussed including approval of a lease for office space... though the keys had already been given to the Executive Director of the Commission and he was already using the address on his paperwork... without majority vote of the Commission. The Commission also voted on whether to approve salaries in excess of $131000 for the new Executive Director Gregory Hicks and General Counsel Lamont Satchel.
