Knife Review: Kershaw Tremor Folder I've been waiting for this damn knife to come out ever since Kershaw put out their 2011 Catologue lol. I think this could end up being a very popular knife, just because of the easy opening, nice hollow grind and full belly, good reach, and the very good price ($30 and change). A person could buy a Spyderco Tenacious and a Kershaw Tremor and with just that duo cover most situations you'd need a folding knife in. Kershaw Tremor: "Big Blade Mojo" by Nutnfancy For the money, the Kershaw Tremor provides massive value. With the 1950 you'll get a 3 ¾" 8Cr13Mov hollow ground blade that arrives wicked sharp. Using the flipper tang, the 1950 deploys fast with the torsion bar powered SpeedSafe® assist mechanism. It locks up solidly and is impressive in hand. The sweeping blade has a beautiful stonewashed finished, a nice change from Kershaw's normal bead blasting. That might add a bit more rust resistance to the otherwise excellent Chinese steel which seems to take a fine edge and hold it for awhile. The Tremor is also offered in a coarsely partially serrated model but this fine edged version is much more preferred. The blade tip is precise and sharp. Medium traction G10 makes up the somewhat rounded handle scales that offer adequate comfort. A Zytel backspacer is found on the spine. Blade centering on this example is a bit off but the in-handle retention is excellent. The clip is a favorite of mine: strong, blackened SS, and it is positionable to TU/TD carry (RH carry only). In pocket this large folding tactical knife carries fairly deep with just enough handle protruding to expose the lanyard. One downside is glaring: the Tremor cries out for jimping and top side traction overall is at a minimum. This can be remedied with the application of skateboard tape as shown which would allow the Tremor to be used in the tactical POU. With such a large and heavy blade (6.0 oz), EDC use for me is not preferred. The liners are as skeletonized ...
