  • O'TOM TICK TWISTER Why is removing a tick correctly so important? Compressing the body of the tick can cause its saliva and gut contents to be squeezed out of the tick and back into the bloodstream of the host. Infective organisms can be transferred this way. Using fiddly impliments can prolong tick removal and stress the tick. This can cause it to regurgitate its stomach contents along with any infective organisms. DO NOT freeze, burn, or smother the tick with petrolium jelly, alcohol, or other substances, because this will also stress the tick and can cause it to regurgitate. DO NOT scratch off or crush a tick because it can leave bits behind in the skin and spill the saliva and gut contents which can result in infection.

  • Tick Removal: Blister & Straw and Knot Methods Method of removing wood ticks, developed by Dr. Murakami, involves a subdermal injection at the bite site of a solution of Xylocaine and adrenalin. Successful in forcing the tick to retract its mouthparts and pull head out of skin, without emptying stomach contents into host (which would result in transmission of borellia bergdorferi spirochaete responsible for Lyme Disease) * Please Note: This procedure should only be done by a physician. Straw and knot method is another method used by Dr. Murakami. The success of this method lies in the subtle but constant upward pressure on the string once the tick is "caught" with the knot.

  • Blackmore's Night - The Clock Ticks On Beautiful artworks of Josephine Wall with the enchanting music of Blackmore's Night! Lyrics: As the wind chimes play along the breeze Singing songs to stir the soul, Rainbow colours entwined in fairytales On the maypole... Sing the song of lands from far away, Other times and another place, The wind can carry us all away from here Charmed in her embrace... Leaves turn to red, the nights are getting colder, Seasons will change, the clock ticks on... Leaves fill the trees as the days are getting warmer, Days turn to years, the clocks ticks on... A cloak and dagger, no fear of freedom When hearts beat in another time, Ever changing, the clock ticks on, If only in your mind... The wind has died and the chimes are still again The trees stand tall as they cover me in shade In the mirror a maiden stares at me As the secret fades... And though the clock ticks on to the future It's in the past my heart will stay In a time so far away from me I'll return someday...

  • Ticks and Leeches by Tool A revised version of my earlier posting, now utilizing my proper recording equipment. This is a great drum song, requiring agility, endurance, and independence. Even with my mixing board, I play all songs through my headphones from an iPod, then mix the video on iMovie with the song from iTunes. Unfortunately, my iPod plays the songs slightly faster, about 1/2 a second over 6 minutes. Therefore, I must fudge the mix a little at the end and beginning to make it match for the majority of the song. It iscritical that every drummer develop their own unique style and interpretation. Therefore, I do not memorize any song exactly. I have spent 30 years playing drums and have developed my own style, which I prefer. I keep my playing within the framework of the song and will play a part exact if that part is either iconic (like Phil Collins In The Air Tonight) or critical to the success of the song. Thank you for watching and lots of success drumming!!
