ET been around Since Ancient Civilization this On Tuesday 21st August 2001 two new crop formations were reported near Chilbolton radio telescope in Hampshire, UK. Both were very impressive looking and consisted of a large number of small 'pixels', which when viewed from the air formed a recognisable shape - unlike many other crop formations. One represented a 'human face' and the other resembled a radio transmission that SETI (the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) sent from the Arecibo radio telescope in 1974. This latter formation will be examined in this article, in which I hope to not only describe and explain the original transmission, but also to examine and decode a number of significant changes occurring in the crop formation. After speaking to witnesses, it would appear that the 'Arecibo' formation was created on August 20th. Although I could roughly make out the binary pattern of the formation from aerial photographs, some aspects were not quite clear enough to discern individual 'digits'. Therefore I visited both formations myself (they are about 200m apart in the same field) on Saturday 25th August 2001. The Arecibo message First, I will give some background to the original message sent from Arecibo, back in 1974. Arecibo is on the northern coast of Puerto Rico and contains a natural disc-shaped hole in the rock. Philips Launches LED Replacement for 60 Watt Lighting ; Zia Eftekhar, Philips Professional Luminaries CEO for North America give us the inside scoop on Philip's new 12 Watt LED light bulb. Officially launched today, the new bulb is the industry's first LED replacement for a 60 watt incandescent light bulb. More than 425 million 60-watt incandescent light bulbs are sold in the United States annually. This represents about 50% of the domestic incandescent light bulb market. According to research done by Philips, this new LED replacement has the potential to save 32.6 terawatt-hours of electricity in one year, enough to power the lights of 16.7 million US households or 14.4% of the total number of households in the entire US. It would also eliminate the generation 5.3 million metric tons of carbon emissions annually. The new lamp is expected to last 25000 hours; incandescents typically last 1000 hours. So a homeowner or business should expect a savings of $120 per lamp. The new product will be sold in stores in the US in the fourth quarter of this year.

We want to equip, for example, 10 percent of the roof surface area with solar thermal panels. We are moving the first slider up until the number below shows 10%. Let's repeat that again. External injection in front of the laser pulse into a laser wakefield The central idea of the injection of an electron bunch from a conventional accelerator in front of the laser pulse into a laser wakefield is shown in this video. An electron bunch is focused into a plasma channel ahead of a terawatt drive laser pulse, which generates a strong wake wave in the plasma. The duration of the injected bunch can be relatively long (sub-picosecond). The kinetic energy of this bunch should be in the order of a few MeV. The wake wave generated by the laser pulse will propagate with a phase velocity equal to the laser group velocity and, of course, to enable the wakefield to overtake the bunch, the bunch velocity has to be smaller than the group velocity of the laser pulse.

We're now in the midst of a worldwide renaissance in psychedelic research, after decades of political suppression. Scientists from around the world will present their new findings at the largest psychedelic conference to take place in the US in 17 years, on April 15-18, 2010, in San Jose, CA ( ). Even media reports, which usually mention in passing the widespread use of psychedelics by the counterculture in the 1960s, are more hopeful than alarming. In this talk, we'll review the factors which led to the backlash and the lessons to be learned, discuss how the FDA opened the door to research around the world, how the ghost of Timothy Leary was buried at Harvard, and how Burning Man struggles to respond to people who have difficult psychedelic experiences. We'll conclude by explaining how non-profit drug development, initially of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for postraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), can transform psychedelics into FDA-approved prescription medicines and can lay the groundwork for the successful, long-term integration of psychedelics into the mainstream of medicine, religion, art, creativity, and celebration. This competition started back in March and they stuck it out through multiple competition shows to get to the finale. This technology could save in the UK alone, 1.5 TWh of Electricity (Worth £150 Million annually), and is Equal to 645000 Tons of CO2 emissions.Air Recycling Technology Explained. There are two ways to remove dust and debris from the floor. 1 /. The vacuum cleaner that sucks air from the floor and passes it through a dust separator. It then returns the air stream back into the room wasting energy. 2/. The so called garden vac that in spite of its name does not use a vacuum to do the work but blows air onto the ground. The air stream is then diverted back up a duct carrying anything that gets into its path into a collecting bag. The air stream is then released into the surrounding air again wasting energy. However Air Recycling Technology uses both of the above techniques simultaneously by using the air stream to both blow and suck the dirt into a dust separator. For this reason it does not release air back into the room to waste energy. Prototype air recycling cleaners have been constructed that will out perform a 1400. watt vacuum cleaner when using only 250 watts. Tests were made in 2005 on behalf of the DTI Market Transformation Program that endorse these claims. The recent Ecovacuum project conducted in Brussels has suggested new targets in energy saving that cleaner manufacturers will be expected to meet.
