I follow Claude Lévi-Strauss line of thought in this painting, using direct pigment techniques which are very old (at least 20000 years). These techniques were more recently used in japan and where studied by the impressionist in the mid 1800's. To me, the techniques allow non-linear drawing, where i'm not thinking in lines, but complete concepts.

  • Forces Talk about force (what it is and how it works and what it does): force is an influence that can cause a body to accelerate. It could be caused by a lift, a push, or a pull. There are many types of forces categorized into two groups: Contact force and Force at a distance. Contact force includes friction force, tensional force, normal force, air resistance force, applied force, and spring force. Force at a distance includes gravitational force, electrical force and magnetic force. We take three demonstrations to explain the 3 laws. 1. An object in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. 2. Force is equal to the mass of an object multiplied by it's acceleration. 3. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Minneapolis MN |612-242-9863 | Part 2 Creator and host of Knowledge For Wellness, Tina Rosenquist, interviews Dr. Andy Stella DC about Matrix Repatterning. Revolutionary: Matrix Repatterning Therapy (MRT) is a revolutionary new approach to relieving our bodily pain and movement restrictions. Why is it revolutionary? Because it is recognizing and treating an aspect of our injuries that has only recently been known to exist. MRT detects, treats and relieves physical tension on the cellular level, alleviating deep tension that has been causing problems that we have felt in our neuromusculoskeletal system (nerves, muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons). If you have pain patterns or movement restrictions that don't go away or continuously return, if you need constant care in order to maintain, and if you wonder why you are not doing better, maybe it is because there is an underlying problem that has not been addressed. Tensegrity Cells: MRT starts by recognizing that every interconnected cell in our body is a tensegrity structure. Tensegrity means tensional integrity. It's a perfect balance between strength and flexibility, and dissipates force evenly throughout the structure. Our cells, which undergird our body's structure (of course!), are amazingly strong and flexible; AND they form a continuous interconnected 3-dimensional matrix web, which is our body. Tensegrity makes our bodies much stronger and more flexible. The pulley-and-lever system (muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons) is much ...

  • Meaning Of Force Check us out at A force is a push or pull upon an object resulting from the object's interaction with another object. Whenever there is an interaction between two objects, there is a force upon each of the objects. When the interaction ceases, the two objects no longer experience the force. Forces only exist as a result of an interaction. For simplicity sake, all forces (interactions) between objects can be placed into two broad categories: •contact forces, and •forces resulting from action-at-a-distance Contact forces are those types of forces which result when the two interacting objects are perceived to be physically contacting each other. Examples of contact forces include frictional forces, tensional forces, normal forces, air resistance forces, and applied forces. Action-at-a-distance forces are those types of forces which result even when the two interacting objects are not in physical contact with each other, yet are able to exert a push or pull despite their physical separation. Examples of action-at-a-distance forces include gravitational forces. For example, the sun and planets exert a gravitational pull on each other despite their large spatial separation. Even when your feet leave the earth and you are no longer in physical contact with the earth, there is a gravitational pull between you and the Earth. Electric forces are action-at-a-distance forces. For example, the protons in the nucleus of an atom and the electrons outside the nucleus ...

  • Animation depicting Fuller's geometric explorations - Whitney Museum Digital animation by Michelle Chang with Helen Han and Temple Simpson. This animation presents the geometry that is the basis of many of Fuller's key ideas and concepts. At the beginning, twelve spheres are packed as closely as possible around a single central sphere. As the spheres shrink and disappear, they generate a polyhedron in which all edges and all radii are of equal length. This shape is what Fuller called a vector equilibrium. One of the characteristics of a vector equilibrium is its ability to contract by folding in on itself. The animation demonstrates how this simple geometric shape can be transformed to create several complex polyhedra. Next, it produces a different version of a vector equilibrium that Fuller called tensegrity—short for a stable structure of tensional integrity. In the last part of the animation, a map of the entire globe is transferred onto the vector equilibrium, which unfolds to produce a flat map of the earth made from six squares and eight triangles. Unlike conventional world maps, Fuller's vector equilibrium map represents the world with minimal distortions to the relative size of the continents. For more information on Buckminster Fuller, visit

I wanted to transpose this potential energy on musical percussive instruments and search a certain beauty and interest in the "danger". The situation of discomfort gives special "alert" power and the outburst remains uncertain. The visual aspect of the musicians being under pressure is very important and adds a second dramatic layer to the piece. The music is made by the visible tensions and the sounds. Audio and Video recorded by Natalia KOZIARZ (prepared piano) and Simon FORSTER (percussion) on Novermber 25th, 2008 at the HKB Studio (Bern). Sound engineer : Cyrill LIM. Voltafilm Stephan HEINIGER. The weather was so bad, I was never introduced to the other men. Our first stop was at the geothermal field at Seltún, a nice array of boiling mudpots around a maar that exploded after a well was drilled. We then drove through Grindavík and past the geothermal power plant to the large geothermal field at Gunnahverir. It was impossible to distinguish between the steam and the fog. Minneapolis MN |612-242-9863 | Part 3 Creator and host of Knowledge For Wellness, Tina Rosenquist, interviews Dr.

  • Ignite Phoenix #3 - Floating Bones 102: Rules for Loosely-Coupled Structures (Like You) Presenter: Phil Earnhardt Biography: Phil is an engineer, mathematician, and linguist. He has extensively studied tensional integrity models and their application to living structure. Description: The things we build and use are tightly-coupled and compression-based: toys, furniture, vehicles, buildings, etc. We presume this is the only way to create structure, but nature has a different idea. Kenneth Snelson invented floating compression models in the late 1940s; Buckminster Fuller called the principle tensegrity. Fuller noted, All [natural] structures, properly understood, from the solar system to the atom, are tensegrity structures. Today, researchers are modeling our musculoskeletal system as a tensegrity—a radical departure from the traditional levers and hinges anatomical model. What can this shift of perspective mean for us today? What are the Big Rules for effectively and efficiently controlling loosely-coupled structures? What would be possible if we allowed our bones to float in our bodies right now? Submit your own idea for Ignite Phoenix at

  • AROUND THE WORLD OF ULTRAS Experience from a different view the world of Ultras... Ultras are sports team supporters renowned for their fanatical support and elaborate displays. They are predominantly European followers of football teams. The behavioural tendency of ultras groups includes the use of flares—primarily in tifo choreography—, vocal support in large groups, defiance of the authorities and the display of banners at football stadiums, which are used to create an atmosphere which intimidates opposing players and supporters, as well as encouraging their own team. Consistently rivals with opposing supporters, ultras groups are often identified with their respective team. The actions of ultra fan groups can occasionally be overly extreme and are sometimes influenced by racial violence, political ideologies, cross-town derbies between clubs from the same city, and even from poor performances by the teams. This particular fan subgroup appeared strongly in Italy during the late 1960s when football teams reduced ticket prices in certain areas of the stadiums. Violent acts of hooliganism by groups of ultras have led to some deaths, as have police reprisals. The existence of ultras groups originates from the initial firm formed in the former state of Yugoslavia in 1950. During the tensional period of the Yugoslav wars, nationalist supporters of Hajduk Split—now playing football in Croatia—formed a group known as Torcida Split; this name still recognises the same firm. The second longest standing ...

  • Taibor Taibor by Samuel Peruzzolo Performed by CAn-Duo Percussion (Chris Nadeau, Anthony Jackson) Texas A&M University - Commerce "TAIBOR approaches a ritualistic metamorphosis between drums and percussive keyboards, in which organic and visceral predominance of syncopated writing of the drums contrasts with the keyboard's tensional and gradual ascension at the inner section. As far as aesthetics, the work can be related to "Day and Night" by MCEscher." -Samuel Peruzzolo
