  • Pinoy Recipe - Shrimp Tempura Shrimp tempura is originally a Japanese recipe, but as you know, the Filipinos like to embrace good food especially from other countries, so shrimp tempura has become a very popular dish in the Philippines. Visit www.pinoy- for more mouth watering Pinoy recipe. You will see shrimp tempura being served as an appetizer during parties, special occasions, or even just a simple family dinner. Shrimp is quite expensive especially the bigger ones, that is why not everybody is able to cook it as often as they want. If you are having a party and you serve this on the table, I am pretty sure that this will not last very long. Shrimp tempura is best when served just after frying. When the batter is seasoned properly, it can be really good even without a dipping sauce. Nunnie ate this without the dipping sauce. And as for the seasoning, you can season this according to your preference. We just used salt and pepper, but if you want, you can add some more to it. Though I suggest you be careful when adding some other seasoning because you dont want to lose the natural flavor of the shrimp. For the health conscious individual or those who are on a special diet like me (yes, my doctor put me on a special diet because my sugar is quite high), you dont really have to deep fry this. In fact, you can broil this in the oven for a few minutes and still get the same crunchy effect just like when you deep fry it. I should have done that in the video, but I didnt. I am pretty sure my ...

  • Slimy Soba and Tempura with Miss Hannah Minx and Ken Tanaka If you like the music check out my video of playing the song with Polo. Miss Hannah MInx and I have been exploring Los Angeles together lately. In this video we go to Yabu Japanese Restaurant on La Cienega Blvd. This shop is famous for its hand pulled buckwheat soba noodles. It's the only Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles where they make the Soba from scratch. In nearby Torrance there are a few other places though. We had a very Minxy time full of deliciousness. We ordered Tenzaru. which is Tenpura along with cold soba (called Zaru Soba in Japanese). When you order your food, don't confuse Tenzaru with Nihonzaru which means Japanese monkey, or you could end up with a very different kind of dish. We also visited the Hollywood walk of fame to see the stars of celebrities on the side walk. We didn't see any real movie stars, just there names written on the sidewalk. If you are interested in the Walk of Fame but can't travel to Los Angeles, you can make your own walk of fame at home. Just by some colorful chalk, draw some stars on the sidewalk, and write in the names of your favorite actors and musicians, and pets too. After the walk of fame, we went to Yougurt Land, which is a popular Korean style frozen yogurt place where you buy the yogurt by the ounce, or pound. Hannah had purple Taro potato flavor. I had plain with berries. Hannah is teaching me all about "Minxy" , you can watch some of her videos to learn what Minxy means. I'm trying ...

  • Tempura - recipe The tempura is one of the most popular Japanese recipes: you just need ice cold sparkling water, a wok and very hot oil to make crispy, light fried vegetables and seafood. *** Today we'll cook one of the most popular Japanese recipes: the tempura, a very crispy and light dish, usually prepared with vegetables and fish. To make a good tempura you need ice cold sparkling water, a large wok and very hot oil for frying. Let's see together what ingredients we'll need: For the batter, we'll have: • less than 1 cup (200 ml) of ice cold sparkling water • less than 1 cup (100 g) of flour and • 1 yolk (The ingredients to be fried are) For frying: • 12 prawn tails • 4 field mushrooms (champignons) • 1 carrot / 2 zucchini while for frying, we'll use vegetable oil Let's prepare together the tempura: Begin by washing all the vegetables: with regard to the carrots, cut them into strips, about 1/10 inch (3 mm) thick; with regard to the mushrooms, cut them into slices, perhaps keeping the mushroom shape, since it's pleasant to see; then cut the zucchini into strips as well, but remove the white part, so trim the ends off... cut the zucchini in half... then into quarters, in this way... remove the white part and keep only the green one... that you'll further cut into halves, so you'll get the right strips, and proceed in this way until you've run out of vegetables. Now move on to the prawns: first of all, remove the shell and the legs, but leave the tail on. Then, with a toothpick, remove ...
