  • Sucrose, fructose and glucose: Part 1 Visit us at Facebook http Nutritional coaching The Metabolic Blueprint Program Fruit is an optimal carbohydrate for the human body it contains the disaccharide, sucrose. Sucrose is broken down into glucose and fructose. Despite all the debate around fructose, what has been shown is that fructose inhibits the release of insulin by glucose. In people with impaired insulin function/sensitivity fructose can be beneficial as it stimulates the enzymes needed to bring sugars into the cells. According to Ray Peat, PhD, Potassium plays a vital role in delivery of glucose into the cell without causing a drop in blood sugar, that happens when insulin alone is used to perform this function. Fructose has the ability to by-pass fatty acid inhibition of glucose metabolism leaving it available for oxidation when glucose is not. The metabolism of diabetes involves the oxidation of fatty acids instead of glucose, suggesting that the ingestion of fructose would be appropriate in the management of metabolic dysglycemia. Instead Diabetics are encouraged to eat whole grains, beans and "complex carbs" (glucose) and avoid sugars. Ray Peat suggests that it is the fructose and sucrose that should be used instead because they will not cause the cascade of hormonal problems that glucose will. Fructose doesn't just increase glucose metabolism, but increases the whole metabolism. Some experiments have shown a 50% increase in metabolic ...
  • Sucrose and Chlorate Volcano Potassium chlorate is an extremely unstable oxidizer. Sucrose is used for energy in the body. What happens when these two mix and just happen to be acidified? Fire, fire, fire! A word of caution: this experiment involves a jet of flame produced by the action of an unstable oxidizer on a combustible fuel. Eye protection must be worn at all times, hand protection must be worn while handling strong acids, and you'll need to have a bucket of water or fire extinguisher nearby in case you forget to move your reaction dish off of combustible, combustible paper (or anything that will burn- clothes, houses, historical documents...). But seriously, not following given safety instructions will result in more than a singed eyebrow, if you catch my drift. Perform this reaction only outdoors or in a fumehood, as a thick cloud of smoke is produced. Potassium chlorate, the oxidizer used for this reaction, can be purchased from dedicated pyrotechnic supply houses or created in the home laboratory. A video detailing this process may be in the works for a future topic. Sulfuric acid, used to initiate this reaction, is Rooto-brand Professional Strength Drain Cleaner, found at select hardware stores. This reaction is the same as the potassium chlorate/gummy bear reaction and can be expressed as: C12H22O11 (s) + 8*KClO3 (s) → 8*KCl (s) + 12*CO2 (g) + 11*H2O (g)

(can you follow the H2O and the CO2 that came form the photosynthesis?) Sugars have alcohols but it was the water and carbon dioxide again that made them. What's important now are how the -OH's are attatched since some are free to twist around while others are bound in an "up or down" configuration... just look at the difffenece between cellulose that cows can digest and the lactose that not all of us can digest (I won't give it away here but look it up! THis is the beauty of learning chmeistry it's the subtle things that have the most profound consequences, you see how the bacteria in our and the cow or termite's guts that make eating possible!) same elements in hte same positions but how they're connected makes a world of diffenece (to the enzymes that break them apart!

  • Sucrose+Calcium hypochlorite=a violent reaction. When a mixture of sucrose and calcium hypochlorite is soaked in vinegar (dilute acetic acid solution), after some time, the mix rapidly expands, creating Cl2 gas and lots of heat, enough to create all the water vapour as seen in this video. The exact products or the cause of this reaction is not known; I discovered this reaction accidentally. But a possible reason could be first the acidity of the vinegar hydrolyzing the sucrose to glucose and fructose, and then getting oxidized by HClO to various species. This produces HCl, which reacts with more HClO to form Cl2, which escapes the pile and causes it to expand. Escaping water vapour from the heat also has the effect. As always, if you want to repeat this experiment, take all the proper safety precautions, and do this outside because toxic Cl2 gas is released.

  • Sucrose (table sugar) Poison Since I made this video I have learned other things about Sucrose. Before sucrose was created cancer and heart disease were rare. After people started using it cancer began to increase. Also I recently learned that sucrose is added to tobacco products. The Native Americans used to smoke tobacco and never got lung cancer. In Russia they didn't add sugar to tobacco and there was no correlation between lung cancer and smoking in Russia. But in Britten they put even more sugar in tobacco and lung cancer rates were even higher in Britten than the US from smoking. This is all in Eustace Mullins' Book "Murder by Injection". What's even more disturbing is, all this was obviously known by the powers that be but it has been suppressed.
