  • Compass Points - Wolf Story - Prologue Part 1 -CONTINUED- "Yes, a feminine name for your daughter." Nairn widened his eyes, bending again to peer at the pups. He hadn't looked closely before, blindly assuming they would both be young healthy sons to start his new pack. Now that he took time, there was indeed a little male and a little female. From the looks of their play-fight, the little female seemed to have the upper hand. Nairn straightened again and nodded, looking slightly sheepish. He cleared his throat. "Ah yes, daughter, of course, Calypso and Cadmus will do fine." The pups, oblivious to the fact that they were receiving names, continued to play. Mandara cleared her throat, though the pups didn't notice. With an amused chuckle, she separated them with a paw. The two pups looked up with wide-eyes towards her mother curiously. "Mother, I was winning!" Nairn smiled despite himself at the indignant high pitched squeak of his young daughter. His son growled playfully, shaking his head. "I was letting you win." The little female bristled, clambering to get beyond her mother's paw and tackle her bother again. "You were not, you never win." The little male made to make an angry retort but Nairn stopped him. He chuckled and bent to lick his son's head. "Wouldn't you rather meet your father?" Both pups looked at Nairn, remembering they didn't know who he was. They both went silent. The male wrinkled his nose. "You're like Mother, but bigger." Nairn nodded his head, pride shining in his eyes. He had yet to glance at his daughter ...

  • The Party; Part 9 Demi couldn't believe her eyes, how could she think that their relationship was perfect? When the truth pounded her on the face, right there. In front of her. Liam Hemsworth was sticking his tongue down some stranger's throat. Before she could make a sound, she silently closed the door. Then ran down the stairs. Her heart pounding in her ears. Which was the only thing she heard, all the way down the luxurious staircase. She found Miley, chatting with a group of strangers that she had never seen before. "He... he... he's cheating on you," Demi stuttered. Catching her breath, and watching Miley's reaction. Her turquoise orbs, widened. As if she immediately understood. She held her hand out to Demi, and let her drag her up the stairs. They ran up the third flight, and tore her parent's bedroom door open. Preparing to see nothing but the worst. Which is exactly what she got. Her eyes widened, and her jaw dropped, but even though she was expecting it, the shock was still pulsing through her body. Electrifying every cell in her body, she wasn't going to let this happen to herself. She was Miley Cyrus. And she was out for blood. "Liam Hemsworth. How nice of you to finally join us, in this world." She said, her eyes showing no sign of emotion, and smiling as if nothing were wrong. As Liam raised his head, he saw his girlfriend. Cat-like as ever. "No! Go ahead and continue! I would be happy to see you make out with this slut some more. You're in my parent's bedroom after all. Mine ...

  • Brothers & Sisters Eppy 19 Yay! Yall did it. I got my comments!! :D Onto the ep. [I have tons of drama planned for next episodes!! :D] 19 ---- *A YEAR LATER* Hanna- The tour bus pulled into the Raymond/Braun Record Company in Atlanta, at last. The tour was over, and I was sooo ready to get the hell off this cramped thing. As soon as it stopped, I jumped off and ran inside, and abruptly stopped, immediately pissed. What the hell was Justin's ex doing here?! Jasmine Villegas stood in front of me, and she might as well have been wearing her underwear. No, what she was wearing was shorts; which were short enough to be underwear; and a see-through white belly tank top. [Thank the lord she had a bra on....] "What the hell are you doing here..?" I asked, confused. She rolled her eyes. "I got signed, einstien." "Aww, thank you, I've always wanted to be compared to an old guy." I fake-smiled at her, then flipped her off. [AKA: Used the middle finger xD] "Whatever." She said, looking at her phone. It chirped, and she began to furiously text. I turned around, to see Justin putting his phone back in his pocket. "Hey, Han-" His phone beeped again, and he began to text. Cell phones ruin conversations. Then Jasmine's phone chirped. I grlared at Justin. "What?" He asked. "Let me see your phone." I said stonily. "No way." "Yes way. Hand it over, Bieber." "No way, Stroud." "You suck." I stuck my tounge out at him. "Thank you, thank you very much." He gave me a cheesy smile, and I giggled, giving him a kiss. • What did eigh***th-century men want? - Professor Amanda Vickery Such is the gloom that surrounds settling down today and the glamour that attaches to mature bachelor freedom, it is hard to imagine that there was a time when marriage represented the summit of a young man's hopes. Forty years after the ***ual liberalization of the 1970s, it is easy to forget that only marriage promised true ***ual fulfillment for Christians, turning furtive or frustrated boys into fully-realized men. Marriage was the only acceptable framework for children, through whom men made a claim on the future, but also confirmed their potency. Virility was one of the most celebrated masculine qualities. The father who led a handsome family into church radiated both an air of commanding respectability and a glow of unmistakable ***ual success. Marriage promised physical excitement. Two days before his marriage in January 1754, 33 year old Josiah Wedgwood positively frothed with anticipation of 'the blissful day! When she will reward all my faithful services & take me to her arms! To her Nuptial bed! To - Pleasures which I am yet ignorant of'. He took the precaution of working over-time the week before his wedding to clear time to enjoy his bride uninterrupted. Marriage was a ***y prospect. In the 17th and 18th century, bachelorhood was a temporary and unprestigious state best solved by marriage. The Batchelor's Directory of 1694 was unequivocal - 'Matrimony - what can better agree with man and more exactly relate to his necessities?' Even men who felt no ...
  • Turn Right; Twenty. Part Twenty [Both] A furious flush lit Selena's cheeks at that crack and she stepped forward. "How dare you?" she snapped. "This is my life were talking about in the balance, not yours. So I want to know where I stand. Why shouldn't I? I'm pretty sure that's the best you'll offer me in a tight corner will be the cash for termination!" His lean, darkly handsome face clenched with distaste. A storm of outrage stormed through Nick. "How dare you make such an assumption?" he demanded in a seething undertone. "That is not how I would behave." "Well, whatever!" Selena shot back at him, her furious distress undiminished by that assurance. "Let's hope that we don't have to explore that predicament." Nick had more than enough drama for one morning and he refused to be the ongoing target of her resentment and disdain. His lean, strong face was etched into forbidding lines and his stunning eyes were hot with indignation. "When are you planning to take responsibility for your own behavior? And stop trying to blame me for it?" Mortified colors washed Selena's face, for he hit right home with that remark. "Right now, all I want is for you to leave--" "Don't worry; I have no desire to stay." Just at that moment the bedroom door opened and framed Taylor's broad, solid frame. He stared at her and Nick with frowning brown eyes. "Why are you shouting, Selena? What's going on here?" "Nick was just about to leave," Selena snapped. "I'm Taylor Lautner, Selena's friend," Taylor addressed Nick ...

Sorry i didn't post sooner, i was at the funeral for my best friend's mom. So this has been a pretty hard day. I'd love if you commented, subbed and rated! this episode spans out over a couple of days which is why it moves so quickly. Next one will be exciting!xoxo I was in shock, it was unbelievable that I had actually stepped between feuding guys and stopped their fight. I would actually be feeling pretty proud of myself if I wasn't overwhelmed by my feelings of anger towards Lance and Joe, but mostly Joe. Why were boys so stupid!? "I'm sorry," I heard someone choke out as though they had never said the words before. I turned to face Joe, "you're not sorry." "Ok, maybe I'm not sorry about getting Lance mad and fighting with him, but I'm sorry I pissed you off," Joe said looking me in the eyes. I broke the stare. "Joe you need to go back home," I said seriously. "Let me live out the five months here and then I'll be a slave in Hell" (A/N: her contract says she has five months until she has to have *** with Joe or she will be a slave in Hell forever) "Four months and 20 days." Joe said softly. "Whatever, " I said stonily. "I can't let you do that, you wouldn't survive in Hell," Joe said passionately. "I won't let you become some *** slave to a monster!" "I wouldn't be!" • Better than Revenge 10// "[Anything But] A Normal Day." Better than Revenge 10// "Just a normal day." - Madysn- "Table 24 is ready!" "We need more cheese!" "Where's the flour?!" Shouts erupted through the kitchen of IHOP as usual. "I've got table 24!" I yelled as I grabbed the tray with various dishes on it, carrying it above my head with one hand. I have mad skills, I know. I served the food to the group, and walked back in the kitchen. It was Tuesday, and you know what that means. Work. Blech. I leaned up against a counter, pulling out my beat-up iPod, listening to music. "I can't pull your heart together, with just my voice alone," I closed my eyes, tapping my foot to the beat of Broken Pieces by Apocalyptica ft. Lacey. Benjamin- I threw my bookbag down on my bed as I sat at the piano bench, turning on my keyboard. I began to play The Four Seasons- Spring by Antonio Vivaldi. Yeah, it's an orchestra piece. Who gives. I heard footsteps come up the stairs, yet I didn't pause. Justin- I chuckled, leaning up against the doorframe of Benjamin's room. "You know that's an orchestra piece, right?" I said. "What do you want?" He asked, his eyes glued on his sheet music. I sighed, sitting down on his bed, facing his back. "I wanna talk about your mom." He pounded angrily on the keys, turning around to glare at me. "Selena isn't my mother and she never will be." He said stonily. I chuckled nervously. "I mean your real mom." Madysn- I knocked on the door of apartment 122. The door was opened by my good friend Eloise. For the record, yes ...

  • Victory, NY 11-23-09 Special Bd Mtg Part 2 Highlights: Mayor Sullivan asks for comments from Trustees Healy and Denison, who sit stonily still. He then opens the floor to public comments. Background (From The Post Star, 11/24/09): VICTORY -- A controversy that's hung over the village over the past few days will literally be paved over along a 1280-foot stretch of Monument Drive. In a 3-0 vote, the Village Board awarded a $46920 bid to the Pregent Paving company of Ballston Spa during a special meeting Monday night. Paving of the deteriorating road, which sits in the shadow of the 155-foot tall Saratoga Monument, has been in the talking stages for several years. After the project finally gained approval last month, the board moved to pull funding for the effort last Thursday when it convened an emergency meeting. Village Mayor James Sullivan, who was unable to attend that emergency meeting, said the gathering by the other two board members resulted in an illegal meeting, and that it was motivated by the intent to punish Monument Drive residents who signed a petition in favor of a village dissolution study. A petition with 154 signatures from those who support such a study was delivered to the Victory village offices Wednesday morning. An emergency meeting was called for by board members later that day and was slated for Thursday. At that meeting, board members Leslie Denison and Timothy Healy moved to remove the funds allocated for the paving project because they argued the village would need those ...

  • My Secret Addiction I know, I know. Magazines are supposed to be the devil for people recovering from eating disorders. And when I was recovering I did stop reading the things. But this weekend I picked up an issue of Vogue (always my fave), and it reminded me how much I freaking love it! Frivolous, gorgeous, luxurious. All those "ous-es." Scrumptious. I love Vogue. I love Vogue's food writer, Jeffrey Steingarten. I love Vogue's ads and spreads and gossip. Its snobbery and its assumption that fashion IS that important. YUMYUMYUMYUMYUM. just reading it makes me remember crashing the tents at Bryant Park during Fashion Week- being photographed and being handed goodies at shows- wearing all kinds of getups because it's New York and you can. Tromping down the street in tall boots and knowing that all the cat calls are for you. Hailing a cab with a cashmere coat over your arm or snuggling up to a man at some secret, fancy restaurant. New York is seductive like that. It makes you think that you are the center of the Universe. You and all the other 12 million people there. Of course, you don't have to scratch hard beneath the surface (indeed, just look at the faces that stare stonily ahead in the subway) to surmise that so many of her residents are actually lonely. Well anyway, this was supposed to be about magazines and perhaps my true secret love is New York City....
