- Tagron's Pre-Molt Mantarid Rage! (G. glabrous) Tagron, my male G. glabrous, wastes a couple of crabs in the days leading up to his molt. He doesn't actually eat any of them, though. He just kills them and goes home. I know the videos aren't really in focus and aren't of very good quality, but the next video will be better! I have had Tagron for 2 months now. He has molted once and become quite familiar with his surroundings. Check out our Stomatopod care sheet at .tc . Thanks for watching!

- Spike the Mantis Shrimp (1 of 3) Say hi to Spike, the Stomatopod. He's a Pseudosquilla ciliata. This video captures him re-arranging his tank, most likely to aid his impending moulting. He's approx 4" long, so reasonably fully grown. He's bright yellow, which the video doesn't really pick out too well due to the lighting.

- Stomatopod - Mantis Shrimp I am in love with this guy - He is so intelligent and vigilant. I feel like I could strike up a conversation with him!! He's not really doing much in this video, but I will catch him being more active really soon. Stomapods have the most advanced eyes in the Animal Kingdom. They have awesome depth perception, and I cannot help but feel that every time I go to see him, he is quite literally, "sizing me up". They can be quite aggressive, and have boxing -glove like appendages that literally extend like a toy punching Kangaroo. They do this with great force - so much so that they can smash your aquarium glass!!! So it is best to keep them calm and not startle them. He was beginning to show signs of aggression after I took this video, as he had no ideat what this 'thing' was infront of him.... Fascinating stuff......
