Slue-Foot Sue's Golden Horseshoe Review (Complete) June 4th and 5th was the passing of two original performers from the "Golden Horseshoe Revue". First, there was Wally Boag, and then Betty Taylor who also died the following day. Two of the greatest original performers that ever put out the "Golden Horseshoe Revue" at Disneyland since it first opened back in 1955. Wally Boag was 90 and Betty Taylor was 91 year old. In memory of the passing of the two great Disney Legends, I will be present to you, the original Disneyland release of "Slue-Foot Sue's Golden Horseshoe Review" from 1957 in its entirety. The album features Wally Boag and Betty Taylor along with Donald Novis. Donald Novis was best known for the opening credits to the Disney animated film "Bambi" entitled "Love Is A Song". This was recorded on a cassette. But I hope you will enjoy it! RIP: Wally Boag & Betty Taylor :'(

I wish I'd been around in 1927 when this record was made to hear this great band live in a dance hall. Amongst the doctors are Jimmy Noone clt, George Mitchell cnt, Andrew Hilaire dms and Johnny St Cyr bjo.

Pecos Bill and Slue-Foot Sue by David Hart According to the legend, Pecos Bill was born in Texas in the 1830s. Pecos Bill was traveling in a covered wagon as an infant when he fell out unnoticed by the rest of his family near the Pecos River. He was taken in by a pack of coyotes who were said to have raised him. Years later he was found by his real brother, who managed to convince him he was not a coyote. He grew up to become a cowboy. Pecos used two rattlesnakes as a lasso and a little whip. His horse Widow-Maker was so named because no other man except Pecos Bill could ride him and live. Widow-Maker was also called Lightning. Dynamite was said to be his favorite food. It is also said Pecos sometimes rode a mountain lion as instead of a horse. On one of his adventures, Pecos Bill managed to lasso a tornado. Pecos Bill had a love interest named Slue-Foot Sue, who rode a giant catfish down the Rio Grande. Just like Shake, both Widow-Maker and Slue-Foot Sue are equally as idealized as Pecos Bill. After a courtship with Slue-Foot Sue in which, among other things, Pecos Bill shoots all the stars from the sky except for one which becomes the Lone Star, he proposes to Sue. She insists on riding Widow-Maker before, during or after the wedding (depending on variations in the story). Widow-Maker, jealous of no longer having Bill's undivided attention, bounces Sue off; she lands on her bustle and begins bouncing higher and higher. Pecos attempts, but fails to lasso her, because Widow-Maker didn't want her on his back again ...

Coon-Sanders Nighthawks - Sluefoot, 1927 Coon-Sanders Orchestra, voc. CACoon & JLSanders Sluefoot ( Moret /Sanders), Victor 1927 Coon-Sanders Original Nighthawk Orchestra was the first Kansas City jazz band to achieve national recognition, which it acquired through national radio broadcasts. It was founded in 1919, as the Coon-Sanders Novelty Orchestra, by drummer Carleton A. Coon and pianist Joe L. Sanders. The orchestra began broadcasting in 1922 on highly-popular midnight radio program over Kansas City's WDAF, which could be received throughout the United States. They were broadcast in performance at the Muehlbach Hotel in Kansas City. They took the name Nighthawks because they broadcast late at night (11:30pm to 1:00am). By 1924 their fan club had 37000 members. Fans were encouraged to send in requests for songs by letter, telephone or telegram. That move became so popular that Western Union set up a ticker tape between Sanders' piano and Coon's drums so the telegrams could be acknowledged during the broadcasts. Their song "Nighthawk Blues" includes the lines: "Tune right in on the radio/Grab a telegram and say 'Hello'." The group left Kansas City in 1924. In Chicago, they performed at the Blackhawk Hotel, doing remote broadcasts over radio station WGN. Their reputation spread coast-to-coast through these broadcasts and the many records they made for Victor. They undertook very successful road tours. The orchestra later moved to New York City for an 11-month broadcast engagement at the Hotel New Yorker ...
