And, I am going to start off by shearing one of my giant German angora rabbits. Now, this guy right here, he is a buck and he was born here. He is about 10 months old and I have sheared him before but he is a little bit nervous right now and a little bit skittish so, I am going to spent a little time petting him and I am also going to start brushing him a little bit too. I am just going to take some time here right now to just get rid of all the matts that I can. And, this is basically clipping all of the matted hair that really is not going to be useable at all, and I am just going to start there. Now, I love knitting and I love spinning and I love doing it when I have a specific person in mind. So today, I am going to take all of the angora from my buck here and I am going to spin it into some yarn that I am going to make into a small baby hat. And, it is going to be for Paulo who is my neighbor, my new neighbor. He is 6 months old yesterday. And, since winter was coming near, I am going to make him a hat that is going to keep him super extra warm this winter. Okay, so I am just brushing my buck angora out right now. James Shears Hampshire firefighter James Shears, 35, from Poole, Dorset, was one of two firefighters who died tackling the fire at Shirley Towers in Southampton, Hampshire, on 6th April 2010. A guard of honour made up of hundreds of firefighters and members of the public lined the streets outside St George's Church in Poole. Hundreds of colleagues also lined the streets of Southampton on Tuesday for the funeral of Alan Bannon, 38, who died in the same incident. Following the service, Mr Shears' two sons, Ruben, four, and five-year-old Frankie, helped by their mother Carla, released 100 balloons in memory of their father. The boys each wore one of their father's two gold medals for judo in the World Firefighter Games. Mr Shears' coffin was carried to the church by a turntable ladder fire appliance adorned with flowers followed by members of Red Watch from St Mary's Fire Station, Southampton, on foot and a second fire engine. The Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service standard was draped over the coffin with Mr Shears' helmet on top. Members of the public were asked to wear colourful clothing to help celebrate his life. They stood in a respectful silence as the coffin was carried by six pallbearers into the church.

George Shearing "Aquarius" (1974) From the 1974 album "The Way We Are". Sir George Shearing, OBE (born, London, England, August 13, 1919) is an Anglo-American jazz pianist who for many years led a popular jazz group which recorded for MGM Records and Capitol Records. The composer of over 300 titles, he has had multiple albums on the Billboard charts during the 1950s, 1960s, 1980s and 1990s. Born in Battersea, London, Shearing was the youngest of nine children. He was born blind to working class parents: his father delivered coal and his mother cleaned trains in the evening. He started to learn piano at the age of three and began formal training at Linden Lodge School for the Blind, where he spent four years. He became known for a piano technique known as Shearing's voicing, a type of double melody block chord, with an additional fifth part that doubles the melody an octave lower. Shearing's interest in classical music resulted in some performances with concert orchestras in the 1950s and 1960s, and his solos frequently draw upon the music of Debussy and, particularly, Erik Satie for inspiration. Buddy Williams - We'll Be Shearing In A Week Buddy was born Harry Taylor in the Sydney suburb of Newtown on September 5, 1918. He never knew his parents, and by the time he was six he had tried to escape from the orphanage at Glebe Point, where the government placed him. Soon after that he was given into the custody of a couple from Dorrigo, inland from the NSW central coast, an area that produced some of Australia's finest country performers. However, this was out of the frying pan, into the fire. As so often happened then, the dairy farm family were more interested in an unpaid farmhand than a son. An old .22 rifle he found in the bush became young Harry Taylor's escape from farm chores. He finally ran away from his tormentors and, after toiling at various jobs, he took up a dare to try his hand at busking and to his amazement collected 13 pounds/ 10 shillings ($27) for his effort - a small fortune in pre-war depression ridden Australia. The first time he sang professionally was at the Jacaranda festival at Grafton NSW in 1936 when he was eigh*** - he literally stopped the show. A recording contract was later offered with Regal Zonaphone and history was made when Buddy became the first Australian-born solo country recording artist. That session on September 7, 1939, produced three Regal Zonophone releases - 'That Dapple Grey Bronco Of Mine', 'They Call Me The Rambling Yodeller', 'Lonesome For You. The Shearing! I've been growing my hair out for about the past 8 years - I got 19" chopped off, plus the additional inch or so from the stylist layering my hair! I'm a born and bred Jersey Girl who's going to college in Florida as of Fall 2009. Like I say in the video, this is not the first time I've grown my hair out and cut a good length of it for charity. Also, I cut it because I felt that the shorter style would make me look older, and I will no doubt be more comfortable in Florida with shorter hair. I figure that my hair will do more good for someone else than it will for me!

I keep my goats for their fiber. These goats are special goats. They are Pygora goats. Pygoras were bred for the first time in the United States in the 1980s. What they are is a combination of the Pygmy goat and Angora goat. What you get is a smaller goat that can give you Cashmere type fiber that you can spin into luxurious wool.
