Ayahuasca [DMT] Level 5 Serotonergic Tryptamine [HD] Serotonergic or serotoninergic means "related to the neurotransmitter serotonin". A synapse is serotonergic if it uses serotonin as its neurotransmitter. A substance is serotonergic if it produces its effects via interactions with the serotonin system. It is proposed that DMT and other endogenous hallucinogens mediate their neurological abilities by acting as neurotransmitters at a sub class of the trace amine receptors. (Wallach JV 2008) Level 5 effects are directly attributed to Serotonergic psychedelic Tryptamines, such as N,N-dimethyltryptamine, 5-hydroxy-N,N-dimethyl-tryptamine and 5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine. Experiences include total loss of visual connection with reality, the sense of not being human or having a body. The feeling of being in many places at the same time. The loss of reality is so extreme that it becomes ineffable. People have been reported seeing themselves in entirely different settings than their original setting. Many people experience the feeling of being in a simulated reality, often computer simulated. Religious phenomenon is reported at this level; Often mentioned is a connection to an "all-knowing presence" or a "universal knowledge" which many equate with extra-terrestrials, artificial intelligence, god, love, or "enlightenment". This level is most often experienced by users of DMT. Users commonly report: 1. Being clearly thrust into outer-space at extreme speed. 2. Being thrust into an expansive void-like alternate dimension ...

It's worth looking at. Complex case.

Serotonergic neurons in the Drosophila larval brain A serotonergic promoter (tph-GAL4, generated by Dr. Youngseok Lee) drives GFP in the larval brain. The movie starts from a dorsal view. The dense innervations at the bottom are the serotonergic neurons projecting to the anterior suboesophageal ganglion (SOG). The movie spins around to show the thick serotonergic fibers projecting from the ventral SOG to the larval mouth. The anterior-most thin varicosities represent the serotonergic innervation of the larval ring gland. Images were acquired on a Zeiss 510 LSM and movie was created with Image ProPlus 7.0.

Charles Nichols Interview [1/3] Charles D. Nichols, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. He previously trained with Dr. Elaine Sander-Bush at Vanderbilt Univsersity. He has been investigating the effects of serotonergic agents, including halucinogens, on gene expression patterns in the prefrontal cortex. He has also developed a genetic model system using the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, to study and elucidate the pathways linking serotonergic drug action at neurotransmitter receptors to specific behaviors. Together, these mammalian and fly models represent an an important new direction for understanding the molecular basis of hallucinogenic drug action and how they influence behaviors. αET www.buzz- α-ethyltryptamine (αET, AET, "Monase"), also called etryptamine, is really a psychedelic, stimulant and entactogen from the tryptamine chemical class. Initially thought to exert its effects mainly via monoamine oxidase inhibition, alpha-ethyltryptamine was created being an antidepressant by Upjohn chemical company within the U . s . States underneath the title "Monase" but was withdrawn from potential commercial use because of an unacceptable incidence of agranulocytosis. αET acquired limited leisure recognition like a designer drug within the eighties. Subsequently, in the united states it had been put into the Schedule I listing of illegal substances in 1993. αET is structurally and pharmacologically associated with α-methyltryptamine (αMT), nevertheless its effects are slightly different. As opposed to αMT, αET is less stimulating and hallucinogenic, its effects resembling more individuals of entactogens like MDMA ("Ecstasy"). Much like MDMA, αET continues to be shown to become a delivering agent of serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine (with serotonin being the main natural chemical affected) additionally, it functions like a non-selective serotonin receptor agonist. Scientific studies have proven that alpha-ethyltryptamine is really a serotonergic neurotoxin.

Who took all the LSD LSD is produced in crystalline form and then mixed with excipients or redissolved for production in ingestible forms. Liquid solution is either distributed in small vials or, more commonly, sprayed onto or soaked into a distribution medium. Historically, LSD solutions were first sold on sugar cubes, but practical considerations forced a change to tablet form. Appearing in 1968 as an orange tablet measuring about 6 mm across "Sunshine" acid was the first largely available form of LSD after its possession was made illegal. Tim Scully, a prominent chemist, made some of it, but said that most "Sunshine" in the USA came by way of Ronald Stark, who imported approximately thirty-five million doses from Europe. Over a period of time, tablet dimensions, weight, shape and concentration of LSD evolved from large (4.5-8.1 mm diameter), heavyweight (≥150 mg), round, high concentration (90-350 µg/tab) dosage units to small (2.0-3.5 mm diameter) lightweight (as low as 4.7 mg/tab), variously shaped, lower concentration (12-85 µg/tab, average range 30-40 µg/tab) dosage units. LSD tablet shapes have included cylinders, cones, stars, spacecraft and heart shapes. The smallest tablets became known as "Microdots". After tablets came "computer acid" or "blotter paper LSD," typically made by dipping a preprinted sheet of blotting paper into an LSD/water/alcohol solution. More than 200 types of LSD tablets have been encountered since 1969 and more than 350 blotter paper designs have been ...

Living with Migraines - part 1 Courtesy of - Patients talk about living with Migraines. Migraine is best described as a neurological syndrome characterized by altered bodily perceptions, severe headaches, and nausea. Physiologically, the migraine headache is a neurological condition more common to women than to men. The word migraine was borrowed from Old French migraigne (originally as "megrim", but respelled in 1777 on a contemporary French model). The French term derived from a vulgar pronunciation of the Late Latin word hemicrania, itself based on Greek hemikrania, from Greek roots for "half" and "skull". The typical migraine headache is unilateral (affecting one half of the head) and pulsating, lasting from 4 to 72 hours; symptoms include nausea, vomiting, photophobia (increased sensitivity to light), and phonophobia (increased sensitivity to sound). Approximately one-third of people who suffer from migraine headaches perceive an aura—unusual visual, olfactory, or other sensory experiences that are a sign that the migraine will soon occur. Initial treatment is with ***gesics for the headache, an antiemetic for the nausea, and the avoidance of triggering conditions. The cause of migraine headache is unknown; the most common theory is a disorder of the serotonergic control system. There are migraine headache variants, some originate in the brainstem (featuring intercellular transport dysfunction of calcium and potassium ions) and some are genetically disposed. Studies of twins ...
Serotonin (pronounced /ˌsɛrəˈtoʊnɨn/) or 5-Hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) is a monoamine neurotransmitter. Biochemically derived from tryptophan, serotonin is primarily found in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, platelets, and in the central nervous system (CNS) of humans and animals. It is a well-known contributor to feelings of well-being; therefore it is also known as a happiness hormone ...
