Army protocol says that medivac choppers are never to carry anyone with a live round in him. Even though they feared it could explode, the flight crew said damn the protocol and flew him to the nearest aid station. Again, protocol said that in such a case the patient is to be put in a sandbagged area away from the surgical unit, given a shot of morphine and left to wait (and die) until others are treated. Again, the medical team ignored the protocol. Here's a short video put together by the Military Times, which includes actual footage of the surgery where Dr. John Oh, a Korean immigrant who became a naturalized citizen and went to West Point , removed the live round with the help of volunteers and a member of the EOD (explosive ordinance disposal) team.   • Rover WWII Underground Bunker Longbridge: Part 1 Not since the 70's has this bunker been visited, This video is the ONLY video from this bunker. A friend located it after many a rumour of what it is and where exactly the entrance point lies. We went off and made our way underground. There are 2 main suspicion's one, an underground hospital for WWII casualties and the second, which I believe, is a WWII control room for the now demolished East Works factory above. With not long left until this site is redeveloped and no sign of Tony Robinson and his Time Team of hippies, we thought it be right to film what we found. The bunker consists of many rooms, the larger 3 are divided up by 2 sets of sandbagged walls. There are at least 4 main stairwell exits, all of which are bricked up. There is an extra exit which goes off at ground level (underground) but not to the surface, this is also bricked up. And one more entrance, our way in. So for maybe your only ever chance to view this bunker, watch this video. Please see my other videos for part 2.

  • Navicula - Kali Mati - Live The Eastern Promise, in Jakarta, is a relatively small venue. Navicula, (the "Pearl Jam"/"Alice in Chains" of Indonesia), had the place packed to over capacity, with the crowd spilling out into the streets during this show. They kicked ass, to say the very least, and the crowd loved every minute of it. This song is off the album Alkamis, recorded on Sony/BMG records, and is about the polluting of the rivers in Indonesia. In fact "Kali Mati" means "Dead River". This is the first live footage I shot of the band, and my first attempt at editing. This was a two camera shoot, with me, (Alan Abbott), on camera one, (on stage), and Hariz Mocarizo, (AKA Mochammad Harris), on cam two, (on a tripod as high as we could get it, taped and sand bagged to a bar table, with Hariz standing on a bar stool). Chris Abbott, (my son), and his friends, Peter Haydon, John Scott, Jamie Mckinnon, stood guard around the table, to protect both the camera, and it's operator, from the moshing crowd.   • Guarding and Feeding Detainees During the Siege of Fallujah This is an excerpt from the book I am working on: That night the Marines on post south of the George Washington bridge caught over 80 people trying to escape Fallujah by crossing the river. I got pulled as a driver and gave half a squad of Marines a ride over, then spent three hours waiting on the road while they and another squad helped sort out the detainees the way Captain Stevenson wanted. He kept about 25, all young men, and let the rest go. The ones he kept were cuffed with zip ties and brought back to the ICDC building in the back of a 7-ton. The next day we were tasked with feeding them and giving them water and watching them while they were interrogated one at a time to see which ones were really likely to be insurgents. A couple of them ate too fast and threw up. Normally throwing up is not a big deal, but when you are handcuffed and ordered to sit cross-legged in the dirt all day, having to sit there and breathe in the stench of your vomit (or the next guy's) all day just sucks. Only a couple were "worth keeping" and the rest were let go by the end of the day. In the scheme of things, it seemed an appropriate slap on the wrist. They were just lucky they were not all shot in the water while crossing. There was another incident that resulted in detainees, this time two of them being kept in a guard shack by the Brooklyn Bridge. I was asked to take a shift guarding them in the middle of the night. During the climax of the attack (September 19 - 27, 1967) over three thousand rounds of artillery pounded the fire base. On September 25, a reported 1200 rounds pounded the hill sides of the 158m mound of red dirt. On 14 October 1967 21 Marines from 2nd Battalion 4th Marines were killed defending the C-2 Bridge on Route 561. The Marine Corps rotated battalions in and out of Con Thien every thirty days. The constant shelling and the threat of an NVA assault took a psychological toll on the Marines, the base was nicknamed "Our Turn in the Barrel" and "the Meat Grinder", while the DMZ was said to stand for "Dead Marine Zone." More than 1400 Marines were killed and nearly 9300 wounded in the fighting in and around Con Thien. NVA losses were put at nearly 9600 killed in action and over 160 prisoners of war. Con Thien was in the news during the time it was under artillery attack. TIME featured the story on the cover of its 6 October 1967, issue which was instrumental in bringing the reality of Vietnam combat to American readers.   • Elkhorn River Flood - Affiliated Foods Late Night Sandbaggers 6-15-10 This vid was shot across Omaha Ave from the Affiliated Foods warehouse in Norfolk, NE @ approx 9:30PM on June 15th, 2010. Approx 100 ppl volunteered to fill & place sandbags to protect the dock area of the warehouse. There were other volunteers at other locations as well on the this southern edge of Norfolk. The Sunset Plaza Mall was also sandbagged at every entrance. The concrete truck that can be heard & seen speeding through the last few moments of this video was one of the many trucks hauling sand to the sandbaggers.
