Today on this 2003 Ford E-250 we are going to install part number 87115 from Hidden Hitch. This also applies to part number 75191 from Draw-Tite. Looking at the drivers side frame rail we will show you where the hitch installs. We are going to install using this forward hole here, this slot right below the canister, this existing hole, and also this rearmost hole here. It will be identical on both sides. :24 The first step involved is to take down the carbon canister on the frame rail on the drivers side. That will give us some working room to our bolts in. Then we can life the hitch into position. Next we will install the hardware. This is the slot we are going to use, it is going to use the carriage bolt and the plate. And we can put our canister back into place. :54 Moving closer to the bumper we can install the next piece of hardware, the hex bolt and small block. And the last hole at the end of the frame we are going to install a carriage bolt and a heavy flat washer. And then do the same thing on the other side. To put the hitch into position, what we will do is start with the forward bolts and put a nut and washer on there to hold it into place. We will work with the other hardware next. The frame rails start low here and work their way up, so we have to put some spacers in between to make up the difference. So what we will do is ...
  • Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 1998 Ford F-150 and F-250 Light Duty Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 1998 Ford F-150 we will be installing the fifth wheel rails and brackets part number 50042-6008. We are up underneath the vehicle and we need to do a couple of things in preparation before we can get started. We first want to lower the spare tire and get that out of the way to give us a little bit more working room. Second we need to go ahead and lower the exhaust off of the rear most hanger here and what we are actually going to do is go ahead and unbolt it from the side of the frame. There is two nuts on the inboard side that we need to go ahead and take off. That will allow that to come down. Then after that we just need to remove the heat shield here as well. You will see that there are four screws that are holding that on that need to come down. We also need to remove the forward heat shield as well. With the under body stuff finished we can go ahead and go up inside of the bed and go ahead and set up our front rail here. 01:17 You want to check the dimension that is listed in the instructions here to insure the proper placement of the front rail. It looks like for short and long bed models both, we are going to be mounting it at 51 3/ 32 inches to the back of the rail here. Then from there we just want to center it in between the wheel wells. Get that in place. And now that we have got the rails centered we can go ...
  • Truck Frame finally painted Frame-up resto of my 1987 Ford Bronco "Frankie". Using KBS 3-step frame paint kit. Grinding the old rust off this frame (and cutting/weld repairs on the rearmost 4 body mounts) has taking me 60 hours. Anything that I couldn't clean up to shiny metal with a 40 grit flapper disk was cut out and repaired. The front body mounts also had to come out. The cleaning step this morning was easy enough, but they didn't provide anywhere near enough rustblast (phosphoric acid) to treat this frame. I used FOUR bottles (only one provided in kit) and soaked the frame for 2.5 hours to convert all the surface rust to that solid black stuff. After that was done I could get to painting. Here's what I wound up with after 2 coats... Frankie will live again! He was parked in the workshop with a cracked engine block 6 years ago. One night I went out there and wanted to get something out of the truck. As soon as I sat in the driver's seat I remembered the fun I'd had offroading with it. Picked up a wrench and got to work. Didn't sleep that night.
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2002 Dodge Caravan Sport - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on we are going to be working on this 2002 Dodge Caravan Sport. We are going to be installing Draw-Tite part number 24702. To begin our installation process we are going to remove these two rear bumper bolts located on the passenger side frame rail. We are also going to remove the two on the driver side frame rail as well. On this particular model it is a good idea to spray a spray lubricant like WD-40 on the back sides of these bolts you can gain access to the frame rail. Another note, whenever you are removing these bolts feel free to run these in and out a couple of times before fully taking those out and that will help prevent these bolts from busting off inside the frame rail. 00:45 To begin our process we want to remove the forward most bolts on this frame rail and that will apply to both driver and passenger sides. Once we have got those removed we will install the studs supplied with the kit and run those up in there. What this does is it basically keeps the bumper secure while we remove the last two bolts. Now that we have our studs installed on both sides and our rear most bolts removed it is good to have an extra set of hands with you to make the installation process a little easier. We installed our one by one inch blocks along with our lock washers and nuts and those are supplied with the kit. 01:47 ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Dodge Durango - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 2007 Dodge Durango we will be installing Curt hitch part number 13296. The first thing we want to do in preparation to installing our hitch is to remove the spare tire to get it out of our way. Looking at the driver side frame rail at the inboard side we have got two attach bolts here and one free bolt here on the forward side. We are going to need to remove the two here at the rear of the vehicle and the third one we are actually just going to remove the nut from the outboard side. We are going to reuse this bolt for our hitch installation and that will be the same for the passenger side as well. For the forward bolt we just want to push it through. You can see they will not fully come out because it is hitting on the body mount here. We want to push it back far enough to where the bolt sits about even with the flange here at the bottom side of the bumper bracket. At the two rear most attaching points we are going to be putting in new bolts along with the flat washer. We just want to slide those through just about the same position as the forward most fastener. 01:00 The hitch is going to mount to the outboard side of the frame and we want to be able to get it up and around into position without hitting the threads of the bolt. We are going to be adding spacer blocks to the outboard side of the frame. This is going to ...
  • Trailer Hitch Install on Chevrolet Silverado - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. The first step is to lower the spare tire to make for more work room. We're using this hole here and that hole as well in the frame as well as two holes in the bumper. We're going to take out these two bolts, one here and one on the other side. After we've removed the existing bolts in the frame, we want to take our carriage bolt and block and set them in the frame. We're going to use the second most hole here towards the rear bumper, put one on both sides. Once we've positioned the blocks and bolts into the frame we'll go ahead and put our hitch up into position. We're going to re-use the bolts we've take out previously in the rearmost mounted location. Once we've loosely installed the bolts on each side, we now want to attach the bolts into the bumper. It's just under the license plate, you'll see two threaded holes in the frame. We'll use these bolts and install it into the frame. Once we have all 6 bolts installed we can torque them down. The forward most bolts will be torqued down to 75 foot pounds, the rear most bolts will be torqued to 85 foot pounds as well as the bolts in the bumper. After torquing down the bolts, this concludes our installation for part # 82123 on our 2007 Chevy Silverado.
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Colorado - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to install hitch part number 82641 on a 2008 Chevy Colorado, and this hitch also fits models from 2004 through 2007, as well as 2004 through 2008 GMC Canyon. On the side of the frame we need to remove this rear-most bolt that attaches the bumper and bracket to the frame. And on the bottom, on pre-2008 models there are actually going to be two logistic holes here. On this 2008 model, there is actually a weld nut with a bolt into here, which we are actually going to take out, and we will be using this hole as well. We need to do that on both sides of the frame. Okay, with the bolts removed out of the frame, we want to go ahead and put the carriage bolt and block into the frame. And I am going to go through this hole here. And we actually want to use the fish wire that they provided. We want to feed it through the hole at the bottom of the frame and then run it out through the side access hole. Then we want to put the block on and then wrap the threads of the bolt with the bolt leader here. This allows us to pull the bolt and the block through the frame. And for pre-2008 models that have the secondary hole here, we want to do the same thing as well. But we want to make sure that the blocks do not overlap inside the framework, and we need to do this on both sides of the frame. I do want to make mention here that, again ...

  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2000 Honda Odyssey - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 2000 Honda Odyssey, we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 87479. And this installation will also apply for Draw-Tite hitch part number 75270. OK, we are underneath the vehicle and we are looking actually at the driver side frame rail. We want to go ahead and point out the mounting holes we are going to be using to attach our trailer hitch. You will notice that we have multiple holes here in the bottom of the frame. We are going to be using three of the existing weld nuts here on the bottom of the frame to attach the hitch. We are going to use the two here at the rearmost portion of the frame and if you follow forward, we are going to use one at the forward side. Alright, and that is going to be the same on the passenger side as well. 0:34 However, on the passenger side, we do need to go ahead and lower the exhaust off of its rearmost hanger to give us a little bit more working room. And to do that, we are just going to take a spray lubricant, like a WD-40, and go ahead and spray the studs of the exhaust hanger down. This is going to make the removal much easier. And we will just take a pair of pliers or a pry bar and separate the two. You can see now that I can maneuver the exhaust back and forth to gain a little bit more access to the bottom of the frame rail. And it is a good idea on any vehicle that has ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Mazda CX-7 - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 2010 Mazda CX-7 we will be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36419. This installation will also apply for Hidden Hitch part number 90154. Looking under the vehicle, the first thing we want to note before installing our trailer hitch is that our exhaust is going to need to be lowered off these two rear most hangers. One on the passenger side and one on the drivers side. :22 To do that we are going to take a spray lubricant, like a DW-40, and go ahead and spray down the stud of the exhaust hanger. That is going to make the removal of the rubber hanger much easier. Then we are going to take some pliers and pry off the rubber hanger. You will see that with the exhaust removed off its rear most hangers you can actually pivot it down and let it rest right there. That is going to give us a little more working room on each side of the frame. :54 Looking over at the drivers side frame rail, you will note we have two round holes. One here and one here that are going to be providing our two attaching points for our trailer hitch. What we are going to need to do is fish our hardware that is provided with our installation kit, through the frame and down into position into those holes. To do that we are going to need to enlarge one of these holes. I am going to do the forward most one and enlarge it just enough to get the carriage ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 87717 on a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Okay, the first thing we want to do in preparation for installing the hitch is to remove the spare tire. Taking a look at the drivers side frame rail, you can see we have got two existing weld nuts here at the bottom of the frame. And we have also got a hole here that is a little bit more forward. We are going to be removing this bolt from both the drivers and passengers side frame rails. That is going to provide our rear-most attaching point. This oblong hole here in the middle, we are going to be ping this carriage bolt and block from inside the frame down through, and that will provide our middle attaching point. And then we will be doing the same thing for the forward attaching point. And that is going to be the same on both sides of the vehicle. To get the carriage-bolt-and-block assemblies inside the frame, we are going to be using the fish wires that are provided in the installation kit. And we will show you how to fish those into place here in a minute. The first thing we do is go ahead and remove the bolts from the end of the frame rails, and then we will go ahead and fish our carriage-bolt-and-block into position. We are going to take the fish wire, feed it through the hole that we are going to be pulling the bolt-and-block down ...

  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 70594 from Hidden Hitch on a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We are underneath the vehicle now, and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting holes for the trailer hitch. Looking here at the passengers side frame rail, you can see we have got two existing bolts here. We are going to be removing those two. And the third one, which is a little more hidden, is going to provide the rearmost attaching point for the hitch. Yours may or may not have a bolt in this location. If it does, you are going to need to remove as well. As you can see, in this particular model the weld nut is extremely corroded, so we are going to need to clean that out thoroughly before we get started. What I am going to use is just a regular spray lubricant, like a WD-40, and just soak that up pretty good. You can also use a basic battery terminal cleaner. You can pick them up at any local auto parts store. It has got a nice, thick, wire brush that we can use to put up into the weld nut that will allow us to clean it out thoroughly, get all the road grime and rust out of there. And I have found that this works as well as anything to get the corrosion and stuff out of there. Then, over here on the drivers side, we are going to be using the same attaching points. As you can see, on this particular model we have ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Chrysler Town and Country - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 87717 on a 2007 Chrysler Town and County without Stow-and-Go seating. We are underneath the vehicle now, looking at the drivers side frame rail, and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting locations for the trailer hitch. The first thing we want to do is remove this rearmost bolt that is going to provide the rearmost attaching point for the hitch. We are also going to use a carriage bolt and block, and it down through this hole here, making for the second attaching point. And then this route hole down here, forward in the frame, that will be the third attaching point. And again, we will be ping a carriage bolt and a block into the frame for that position. So the first thing we want to do is to go ahead and remove the rearmost bolt on both sides of the frame. With the rear bolts removed from the frame, we want to go ahead and start to fish our carriage bolts and blocks into the frame. Again, we are going to be fishing into this location here as well as this location here. The instructions tell you to go ahead and try to fish the carriage bolts and blocks into the frame through either this access hole or this access hole, which neither one of them is large enough to actually get the bolts into the frame. An easier way to do it would actually be to fish your fish wire, which ...

Today on this 2010 Ford Taurus we will be installing Hidden Hitch part number 87565 and this installation will also apply for Draw-Tite part number 75670. The first thing we want to do in preparation to installing our trailer hitch is to lower the exhaust down off the driver side frame rail. We have got two hangers that we want to remove to help lower the exhaust out of the way. The first one being at the rear of the vehicle nearest the bumper and then if we follow forward almost even with the axle there is a second one. To ease in the removal of these rubber hangers we are going to spray the studs down with a spray lubricant like a WD-40. Then we can take either a pry bar or a set of pliers and separate the two pieces. 00:40 Before I remove the exhaust off its second hanger I do want to put a support strap around the exhaust tube and then I am going to find two attaching holes underneath. The reason being is that once we remove the exhaust off those two rear most hangers the exhaust could come down. We will come back to the rear most hanger and lower the exhaust off it. Then with the exhaust lowered, we can see if we look on the forward side of the driver side frame rail we have got an existing hole that is going to provide our frame mounted attaching point over on the driver side. If we continue over to the passenger side frame rail ...

To remove the exhaust off of its hangers I am just going to go ahead and spray the stud down with a lubricant like a WD-40 and you can either take a crowbar or a pair of pliers and pry that off of there. The next step is to go ahead and remove the heat shield over the section just forward of the rear axle here. From here to here is the section we need to remove. And we can do this by one of two ways: we can go ahead and unscrew the entire heat shield by removing the bolts that are holding it on or we can just take a cutting tool and go ahead and just cut that section out, which is what I am going to go ahead and do. Okay now we have the heat shield cut and out of the way we want to next bend down the heat shield for the gas tank itself so it will not interfere with the cross members when we go to put them in place.

  • Trailer Hitch Installation, Chrysler 300 - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. First step is to lower the exhaust, some models have dual exhaust this particular model has a single. There's actually four hangars we're going to have to lower to get the exhaust down. Two here, one in the front and one in the rear. Then there are two forward most ones. There is one screw holding each hangar in the rear here, so we can just take out those bolts to lower it. Before you lower the forward most exhaust mounts make sure you support the exhaust. When you remove these the exhaust will fall down. We're using a strap here to hold it tight. Pull the forward most ones off the hangars. On the drivers side of the vehicle here I'm going to show the existing holes that we'll be using to mount the hitch. There's two weld nuts at the rear most point and one existing hole which will be the access hole for the handle nut to be put in the frame. On the passenger side of the frame we'll be using one existing weld nut and two existing holes for the handle nuts. Now we lift the hitch into position. Go up and over the exhaust on the passengers side and up into position on the drivers side. Once its mounted into position using the existing weld nuts in the frame, we'll take the handle nut and bend it into position to get it into the frame. We're going to take an existing bolt and thread it directly into it. On the passenger side of the vehicle ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Ford Escape - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to install part number 90635 from Hidden Hitch. And we are going to install this on a 2003 Ford Escape. First to show you where the hitch mounts up on the frame of the vehicle, where it is going to mount up is on this hole here and here. What is going to happen is we will thread our hardware from the edge of the frame through the opening back here and we will pull our hardware through from the inside out. Now some vehicles, there will be an exhaust shield on there which you will have to trim. Instructions are provided to do that but in this case there is not one existing so we do not have to worry about it. And if you do have to trim it, it is very easy. Tin snips is all you need to cut it out and make room for the hitch. And this assembly is going to be both identical on both sides. And it is also going to use one last attachment. It is going to use a tow loop here too. We are going to start on the passenger side of the vehicle. We will start fish wiring our hardware in. Now there is going to be two bolts that go in, per side. And there is a difference in the bolts too. The one is just basically going to be longer than the other. What is going to happen is the short bolt is going to go in the rear most hole here and then the longer bolt is going to go in this hole and it is going to get a spacer put between the frame ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2001 Ford Windstar - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 2001 Ford Windstar, we will be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 75055. This installation will also apply to Hidden Hitch part number 87507. Okay we are underneath the vehicle and we are looking at the driver side frame rail. We are going to go ahead and point out the mounting location for our trailer hitch here. As you can see here at the end of the frame rail we have got two existing holes. We are actually going to be using the longer oblong hole as our rear most attaching point on each side of the vehicle. What we are going to be using is the carriage bolt and block combination that we are actually going to feed through the frame and pull down through this hole. To do that we are going to be using the access hole here forward on the side of the frame. And then we are also going to be drilling two holes in this area right here that will provide our two forward most attaching points. So we will go ahead and show you how to fish the bolts into position here at the rear of the frame first. What we want to do is go ahead and feed this through the hole that we are going to be using and out through our access hole. And then what we will do is take the block on to the bolt leader and it into the frame. And then we will take our carriage bolt and wrap the bolt leader around the threads of the carriage bolt and also feed ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2000 Jeep Wrangler - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 13408 from Curt on a 2000 Jeep Wrangler. OK, we are underneath the vehicle now and we are going to go ahead and point out the attaching points for the hitch. Looking at the drivers side frame rail, you can see there is an existing bolt. that is in the frame. There is one on each side We are going to go ahead and remove that, and that is going to provide the rearmost attaching point for the hitch. And you can see also there are two holes existing in the more forward side of the frame. The larger of the two is the one that we are going to use as the forwardmost attaching point for the hitch. So, the first thing we are going to do is to go ahead and remove the bolts from the end of the frame. And then we are going to go ahead and fish our block and carriage bolt up through this hole and back down into place, so that can provide our forwardmost attaching point. OK, I am going to go ahead and fish the bolts into the frame here for this forwardmost attaching point. I am going to go ahead and use the block with the square hole in it and the carriage bolt, as well. We are also going to use the fish wire that was provided with the installation kit. What we are going to do is feed the fish wire through the opening in the block and then wrap the threads of the bolt. We will go ahead and feed ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2002 Ford Windstar - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 2002 Ford Windstar we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36189. This installation will also apply for Hidden Hitch part number 90097. We are underneath the vehicle and the first thing we want to do is lower the spare tire out of the way to give us a little bit more working room. Taking a look at the driver side frame rail we have got a larger existing hole here at the end of the frame. That is going to provide our rear most attaching point for our trailer hitch and that is going to be the same on both the driver and passenger sides and then we will put the hitch up. We actually have to drill the forward most hole that we are going to be using as our attaching point. That is going to be in this area right here. That is the same on both driver and passenger sides. 00:35 What we are going to need to do is fish the carriage bolt and block assembly inside the frame and down into that existing hole. We are going to be using a 1/ 2 inch bolt leader. We are just going to take the threaded end and fish out through the forward side of the vehicle, this large access hole on the side of the frame. We will next take the block and slide it onto the bolt leader and then take our carriage bolt and then thread it on to the bolt leader. The hardware is going to be the same for all four attaching points. We are going to ...

  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 1999 Chevrolet Express Van - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today, on this 1999 Chevy Express Van, we will be installing Hidden Hitch part number 82580. This installation will also apply to the Draw-Tite part number 41521. We are underneath the vehicle, looking at the driver-side frame rail. You will note, here at the end of the frame, we have two existing holes. Those are going to provide our two rearmost attaching points for the trailer hitch. At those attachment points, we are going to be taking a 1/2 inch carriage bolt and a 1-1/2 by 2 inch block, combining the two. We will set them inside the frame and down through the holes. 0:35 And, if you look at more forward on the frame, we have two more existing holes. We are going to be using the rearmost of those two. But, at this attaching point, we will be using the 1-1/2 by 3 inch block and that is going to be the same for the passenger side as well. I do want to note before I put all of the carriage bolts in, that if at the bottom of your frame you have an excess amount of undercoating, that could prevent the hitch from attaching to the frame. You want to go ahead and scrape that off. As you can see here, I have some flakes of undercoating that I am going to scrape away first. 1:39 Again, we just want to repeat that set up for the passenger side and then we will go ahead and put the hitch up into position. We will be attaching the hitch to the ...

  • Tri axle reefer trailer with steering axle. Just a quick video with my new Tamiya Reefer Trailer. The trailer's a bit plain Jane at the moment. I've decided to put my own designs on the sides. Will do that soon. I liked the idea of a steering axle so i left the bits off that stop it from steering. The steering axle works off the principle of drag you will notice on most Tri axle trailers here in Australia and some across the world, The last or first wheels on the trailer get 'dragged' mainly because the second wheel is the pivot point. With this design from Tamiya you can disconnect 2 arms and let the trailers rear most axle 'steer' whilst towing and turning in either direction. Mind you I've noticed the trailer tends to keep turning long after the truck has straitened up lol. Although it does take a bit to back the trailer because the rear axle tends to have a mind of it's own and goes where it wants to , if you take it slow it all works out and backs straight
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Ford Focus - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 2009 Ford Focus we will be installing Hidden Hitch part number 60886. This installation will also apply to the Draw-Tite part number 24805. At the back bumper facing we have got two holes right on top of each other. We are going to be using those two as the rear most attaching points for our trailer hitch. Then on the frame rail you will see we have got an oblong hole about half way up at the rear and this will provide the third attaching point for the passenger side. The attaching points will be the same for the driver side however we will need to do a little bit more work over here. 00:35 We need to lower the exhaust down off its rear most hanger and we will also need to cut out the heat shield that is covering the hole at the bottom of the frame. To help ease the removal of the hanger off of the exhaust we can use a spray lubricant like a WD-40. Next I am going to loosen the three rear most nuts on the heat shield. What that is going to allow me to do is locate the hole in the frame and I am going to need to cut the heat shield around it. I am going to take a pair of tin snips once I have located the hole and cut that out. Then with our cutout made in the heat shield we can tighten our nuts back up for the heat shield. 01:31 Next we are going to feed our carriage bolts and block assemblies through the frame and down ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 1993 Chevrolet Suburban - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 41511 from Draw-Tite on a 1993 Chevy Suburban. Looking up under the vehicle now at the frame rail, we are going to go ahead and point out the attaching points for the hitch. As you can see, there are three existing holes at the bottom of the frame that we are going to use as the attaching points. We do need to enlarge these holes before we can put the hardware into place. See the one at the rearmost attaching point, we are going to need to enlarge to a half-inch, and the two forward ones are going to need to be enlarged to nine-six***ths. So we are going to go ahead and do that now on both sides. OK, with the holes drilled, we are going to go ahead and put the hardware into place. On the rearmost attaching point we can just set the hardware into place. On the forward-sided holes, we are actually going to have to fish wire the bolts through the framework here and into place. And we are going to use a bolt leader, which we do so here on our Web site. It makes things a lot easier to fish the bolts into place. The access point we are going to use is actually up over the crossmember here. There is a hole that I can fish this through. And with that in place, we can go ahead and put the bolt leader through the block and then wrap the threads of the bolt with the bolt leader. This will ...

  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Hyundai Sonata - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 2011 Hyundai Sonata we will be Draw-Tite hitch part number 24853. And this installation will also apply for Hidden Hitch part number 60269. Alright, we are underneath the vehicle and the first thing we need to do is go ahead and lower the exhaust down to get that out of our way so we can work. This particular vehicle has single exhaust which is strictly on the passenger side. Some models will have dual exhaust so you will need to repeat this procedure for both sides. We will need to lower it down off of its rearmost hanger, which is just rear of the muffler itself. And if you move forward, almost even with the axle, there is a second hanger we are going to need to lower the exhaust off of. We are going to need to go ahead and remove, not only the hanger, but the bracket. 0:39 So we are going to go ahead and unbolt it from the frame. There are two nuts holding it into position that we are going to take it off of. The forward hanger we can actually unbolt as well, from the exhaust system. Before we do that though, we want to go ahead and put some form of support strap across the main tube here. Because, once we do lower it off the second hanger, this system could down and possibly damage it. With that lowered down, I am actually going to go back to the front hanger and I am going to go ahead and unbolt the rubber hanger from ...
  • GM Detroit Diesel 6-71 Cold Start, Idle Rolling (Hunting), Walk-Around, Rocker Action 1953 GM Detroit Diesel 6-71 first start of the day. I walk around it at about 1:30. Check my other videos if you like these. I apologize the engine is not securely fastened down, it is basically sitting on a pallet and pivoting on the oil pan and frame rails of the bus it was removed from, so she really rocks when the harmonics are right during the idle hunting (aka "Detroit Roll"). Also, I have no work into her yet, this is as received condition, so she smokes some, especially from the rear most bank of cylinders (I am suspecting one cylinder). Possibly would clear up if run under a load until warmed up, it has sat for a long time and may have oil pooled in the airways of the block (if it sat on it's side, etc...), etc... I tried to show how the governor linkage is trying to control and correct the idle speed. A DD is actually supposed to hunt at first start, but only about 2-3 times (per specifications). If more than that occurs, it needs adjustment of the buffer screw on the governor. By that point, the engine is probably long in the tooth, and should really have a full rack on on it (set injection timing, etc...). I did this start with no exhaust fan on (no extra noise), so it does fill the room with smoke. It actually inhales some into the blower suction side, like self EGR. I don't care, I'm happy to have saved her from the smashing jaws of death at the scrap yard, which did claim the life of the GM Old Look bus (#TDH-4512) this engine was in. I believe those buses ...
  • Invasive Maneuvers - Mass Effect 2 Infiltrator - Korlus Just a warning: you may want to lower the volume on this one. You'll see why... Aggressively played Infiltrator in Mass Effect 2, NG+ Insanity Difficulty. Video made for this guide: First section: that centre cover is annoying. If I kill the Heavies from afar, other enemies pour into it to replace them (including Legionaires, who are even worse than Heavies) and it becomes a constant stream of enemies occupying that same space. So I take it for myself. I could've held it there, but I went ahead and took the enemy's rearmost position away, leaving them surrounded and helpless. Second section: the Heavies as usual occupy the best cover in the rearmost position. Note how my Cloaking flushed the Legionaires towards my squad, leaving them in the open and surrounded, and thus screwed. Third section: That high ground on the left makes a nice sniper position. The Heavy cannot hide from you there. The Legionaires try to flank, so Cloak to make them turn around, or just kill them before going up there in the first place. Sniped the Heavies on the other side, would normally snipe/SMG remaining enemies below, but had to shut the Batarian up. Once down there, took rearmost position with the Heavy to surround enemies. Should've just stayed there. 20/20 hindsight.
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Dodge Stratus - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36301 on a 2006 Dodge Stratus. Okay, we are underneath the vehicle now. As you can see here on the passenger's side of the vehicle, we have the exhaust, which is going to need to be lowered. That is the first thing that we are going to need to do. And again with the bolts removed off of the bracket, I am going to go ahead and remove the rubber hangers off there as well. Before I remove the front hanger, I went ahead and added a tow strap to support the exhaust, because once we remove this front hanger the exhaust is going to come down quite a bit, and we do not want it to completely fall because it could damage the exhaust. And you can see with the exhaust down now, we are going to need to remove this bolt and then remove as the two as well from the driver's side, and then we can go ahead and put our hitch up into position. And then, looking at the driver's side frame rail, you can see there are two existing bolts in the frame which we are going to remove. Those are going to provide the two rearmost attaching points for the hitch. And then, once we get the hitch up, one of these existing holes is going to align with the trailer hitch. That will provide our third attaching point. We will be using the forwardmost hole on each side as an access point to fish our hardware into ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 1992 Lincoln Town Car - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 36116 on a 1992 Lincoln Town Car. We are underneath the vehicle now and we will go ahead an point out the attaching points for the hitch. You can see we are looking at the passengers side frame rail. The hitch is actually going to be clamped to this frame rail and we are going to have to drill out all four of the holes that are going to be the attaching points for the hitch. So the first step is to get the hitch clamped up into position. Now that we have got the clamp hitched up into position we are going to go ahead and drill out the forward-most holes, which will allow us to put the bolts through and hold it up into place. And then we can remove our clamps and drill out the rear-most holes. OK, now that I have got the forward-most holes drilled on both sides, I am going to go ahead and put the bolt and block into place - again, to hold the hitch up into position so I can release the clamps and drill out the rear-most holes. And we are going to use the fish wire that was provided in the installation kit. And we just want to feed that through the hole that we just drilled, out through this large hole at the end of the frame. And then we just slide our block onto the fish wire and wrap the thread to the bolt with the fish wire. And this will allow us to pull both the block and the ...

  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 1998 GMC Savana Van - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 1998 GMC Savana Van we will be installing a Draw-Tite hitch part number 41921. Looking at the underneath of the vehicle we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting holes that we are going to be using to install our trailer hitch. Over here on the passenger side you can see we have got two existing holes here at the end of the frame rail and then two holes closer together more at the forward side. For this hitch installation we are going to need to enlarge each one of these holes to 9/ 16 and that application is going to apply for the driver side as well. 00:31 Here at the rear most hole we are going to be installing this bracket as well inside of the frame so you can see it has got a hole here at the bottom and a hole here at the top. This hole here is going to align with the rear most hole in the frame. This hole here is going to align with the oblong hole at the side of the frame. 00:47 So the first thing we want to do is go ahead and enlarge all of the holes and then we will go ahead and put the brackets into place. With the hole drilled out we can go ahead and place the bracket into the frame. Then we will take one of the 9/ 16 bolts along with a flat washer. Slide it through the hole on the side of the frame and we are going to go ahead and attach that using a flat washer, lock washer and, hex nut. We are ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Chevy Traverse - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 2009 Chevrolet Traverse we are going to be installing part number 75528 from Draw-Tite. This also applies to Hidden Hitch number 87435. Alright, so the first thing we are going to need to do is lower our exhaust and take off the lower bumper fascia here that is made to be removed when you are putting up a hitch. And on the exhaust, we are actually going to lower two exhaust mounts, the farthest most one which is going to be located here and the one right past the muffler is going to be located here. Before we move it, we are going to go ahead and spray it down with some WD-40 lubricant so we can help our exhaust brackets slide off easier. And then we are going to go ahead and just use a pry bar to get it off. We are going to go ahead and do the same thing for the rearmost exhaust bracket. Alright, so now we are just going to remove the lower bumper fascia here. Just take off these two fasteners on the bottom here. 1:15 Alright, now we are going to show you our mounting locations for our hitch. On this particular model, it did not have the weld nuts in here. We are actually going to use the handle nuts and 1/2 inch bolts to hold up the hitch here. So you are actually going to have some extra hardware when you are done with the hitch. And then on the passenger and driver side, there is going to be the same mounting locations ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2001 Chevrolet Venture - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 87410 by Hidden Hitch on a 2001 Chevrolet Venture. OK, the first thing we want to do is to remove the load leveling compressor bracket and drill out our hole. OK, with the hole now drilled in the load leveling compressor bracket we can go ahead and put the load leveler back up into place. We just want to put the nuts back on the studs over here on the sidewall because we are going to use new hardware when we put the hitch up into position in these attaching points. OK we are back over on the passengers side now, and we want to go ahead and remove the bolts out of the frame that are holding the exhaust bracket up into place. At that time we can go ahead and put the hitch up into position. The installation kit with the hitch has actually provided new hardware to put into these weld nuts here, and it has got new hardware for the drivers side as well. So we want to make sure we put that into place when we put the hitch up into position. OK, we want to make sure the hitch on the passengers side makes contact with the frame directly. So we want to put the exhaust bracket on the bottom side of the hitch and then put the bolt through. With the four bolts up inside the frame now, we can go ahead and loosely install those, and then we can go ahead and drill out the holes in the other attaching ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2001 Chevy Venture - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 75278 on a 2001 Chevy Venture. We are taking a look at the driver side frame rail and as you can see there are 2 existing weld nuts in the frame. If you have dual exhaust, you may have nuts already on this side holding your exhaust up, in which case you will want to just remove the existing bolts out of the frame to expose these nuts. As you can see here on the passenger side, we do have the exhaust and there are 2 bolts in the frame holding the exhaust hanger on, we are going to go ahead and remove those and it is going to drop the exhaust down here. On short wheel base models, there would be an existing hole here that we will be using as a forward most attaching point on the hitch. With this being the long wheel based model, that hole is not there so we will have to drill it, as well as the rear most attaching point. Now we will go ahead and remove these bolts from the frame. On these weld nuts right here on the driver side, since there was nothing existing in the weld nuts themselves, we want to make sure we get those nice and cleaned out so the bolts will go in fairly easy. The easiest way to do it is to go ahead and put some W-D40 in there, let it soak in a little bit. Then get a wire brush, or anything small that you can get in there, to clean the threads out. That will make ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Subaru Outback Wagon - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 2010 Subaru Outback Wagon we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13390. We are underneath the vehicle, the first thing we want to do is lower the exhaust down so we have some working room. We need to remove the three rear most hangers from the system. One at the outboard side at the front of the muffler. On on the inboard side here at the rear. Then if we follow forward, just in front of the rear axle there is a third hanger we need to remove it off of. To remove the exhaust off of its hangers we need to take a spray lubricant, like a WD-40 and spray the studs down. Then we want to take a pry bar or pair of pliers and separate the two pieces. :41 Before we remove the forward most hanger, we want to put a support strap across the exhaust tube. When we remove the exhaust off of its third hanger the system will want to fall. If not properly supported, it will damage the system. I am going to take a simple cam strap and hang it from the suspension. With that support there we need to go ahead and remove the third hanger. The next thing we want to do is remove the heat shield. There are four fasteners holding it into place. With the exhaust lowered and the heat shield off we can point out the mounting holes we are going to be using to attach the trailer hitch to the vehicle. 1:31 Looking over here at the passenger ...
  • Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Nissan Quest - Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today on this 2007 Nissan Quest mini van we will be installing Valley hitch part number V82760. We are underneath the vehicle now and we are actually taking a look at the driver side frame rail. We have got four existing weld nuts visible on the frame rail. Using the three rear most ones as our attaching points for the trailer hitch. To attach our hitch to those weld nuts we will be using the 12 millimeter bolts along with the conical tooth washers that are provided with our hitch installation kit. That is going to be the same on both the driver and passenger sides. However, if you look over at the passenger side you will notice that our exhaust is in the way. So we are going to need to lower that first before we put the hitch up in position. It looks like we are going to remove it off of its two rear most hangers. The rear most hanger is located right in the middle of the muffler itself on the outboard side and then if you follow the exhaust pipe forward to the first cross member you will see we have got our second hanger that we are going to be removing the exhaust off of. 00:57 It is going to be a good idea before we remove these two hangers to support this exhaust tube with a bungee cord or a ratchet strap because when you do remove it off these two hangers the exhaust will want to come down and do damage if you do not have any ...
