Quietus for a Brighter Death (2006) -ENGLISH SUBTITLES- I made this short film during my third year at the Rits Film School in Brussels (Belgium), February 2006. For the first time, I directed experienced actors (Alain Van Goethem and John Willaert) and a student crew in a self-written story and shot it on 16 mm film with professional technical equipment. The man in charge of the workshop was Flemish film director Robbe De Hert (ao "Blueberry Hill: A Love Story from the Fifties", "Trouble in Paradise" & "Lijmen/Het been"). QUIETUS: To The New World PART 1 Science Fiction apocalyptic film evoking the style of the 'Dawn of Man' sequence in Stanley Kubrick's '2001: A Space Odyssey', filmed on 35mm in Death Valley utilizing many of the same locations used to shoot 'Star Wars'. Entire production's cost was 8K, and no CG was used. All miniatures were photographed at high rez and animated in After Effects, using still images, employing the same visual effects methods Douglas Trumbull and Kubrick used in '2001'. Quietus: Consumer Alert! Claims: The TV ad for Quietus says that the product "has helped thousands of people with tinnitus" and will "stop the ringing fast." The ad doesn't explain how Quietus is supposed to work, although the website does clarify that it was "created by a rock drummer" to treat his tinnitus. The website for Tinnitus Relief Formula says "if you do only one thing for your tinnitus this is it!" The site also says that "many individuals will experience a reduction in symptoms in four weeks." The bottom line: A lot of patients ask if Quietus or other tinnitus supplements are worth a try, says audiologist Jeff Carroll, director of the Tinnitus Treatment Center at UC Irvine. Emperor: Battle for Dune - Elara's Quietus Full-Motion cutscene from Westwood Studio's Emperor: Battle For Dune. It should be noted that this movie appears after the player's House has defeated another House's homeworld. During the first Great Spice War, Lady Elara was forced to take refuge with the Fremen. She became their Reverend Mother by changing the Water of Life (the poison created when drowning an infant sandworm). The substance that is created is a very powerful and very potent mental enhancement drug. Essentially pure spice essence. The Emperor Worm, which the Tlielaxu created with aide from the Spacing Guild, can only be awoken to it's full potential by the Water of Life which has saturated Elara's entire being. Should the Emperor Worm awaken, he will have control over all the sandworms of Arrakis, and thus, the spice melange as well.
