  • Review: I Hate Luv Storys Story: Jay Dhingra (Imran Khan) is an aaj ka chokra. He turns up his nose at anything that remotely resembles soppy sentimentality, even though he works as an assistant to a film maker (Samir Soni) who peddles the most improbable mush on screen. Enter, the new art director, Simran Sharma (Sonam Kapoor) who eats, sleeps and is drunk heady on ishq-vishq and all that goes with it. A diehard romantic, she even has a perfect boyfriend called Raj (Samir Dattani) who gifts her a white chrysanthemum, each time he meets her. But will the pristine white flowers score over Jay's crazy red roses, and crazier ways? Keep guessing.... Movie Review: First things first. Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor make an interesting pair. After the Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif coupling, this seems to be the most refreshing jodi that's jaunting and jiving on screen. Nice chemistry. Nice tu-tu-main-main (sparring). Nice physical compatibility. And a well-balanced emotional quotient. Kudos to the two of them to carry forth a film which once again doesn't really have anything to boast about in the `storys' department. Thematically, I Hate Luv Storys, is extremely simplistic, uni-layered and terribly predictable. Imran and Sonam do begin on the we-hate-each-other note, with Imran squirming at any and everything that's filmy while Sonam swears by it all: pink teddys, bunches of blooms, candle-light dinners, Karan Johar films, cuddly Cupid's bows, shooting stars, soppy dialogues and all that made-for-each ...

  • Anglo-Saxon Pig http Here we have a supposed example of an Anglo Saxon pig as kept by Bede's World in Jarrow, Tyne and Wear, UK. Bede's World is a fascinating museum of early Anglo Saxon life revolving around the monastery at Jarrow with not only history but showing the animals that were reared there such as this pig. "Servant of Christ and Priest of the Monastery of Saints Peter and Paul which is at Wearmouth and Jarrow." These are the words which Bede used to describe himself. Today, we probably know him best as the author of the Ecclesiastical History of the English People which he completed in AD 731. This work is our primary source for understanding the beginnings of the English people and the coming of Christianity. This is the first work of history in which the AD dating system is used. Bede was born in AD 673 on the lands of the monastery. Of his family background we know nothing, save that he was entrusted at the age of 7 to the care of Benedict Biscop, the founder of the monastery, and then to Ceolfrith who in AD 681 was appointed Abbot of the new foundation at Jarrow. Bede spent the rest of his life in the monastery. He was ordained deacon at the age of 19 and priest at 30. He observed the Rule of the monastery and was punctilious in his attendance in choir at the daily offices. Outside of his time in choir, he worked as scholar and teacher; he records that "It has always been my delight to learn or to teach or to write". And he explains that "I have made ...

  • The Little Red Hen In the captivating and charismatic folktale The Little Red Hen adapted by Byron Barton, the story originated from Russia to advise those who were lethargic to work harder. This was supposed to alert the slothful to work harder because hard work pays off. Most of the meticulous and indolent workers worked in the fields or in farms doing most of the work that the red hen did like cutting and grazing the wheat and then baking it into bread. That is where the folk tale of The Little Red Hen originates. To become a folktale, your folktale must include the four elements of folktales. The setting of The Little Red Hen takes place in a small barn in a country side that includes much forestry and snow. The character elements are the lazy and the diligent. In The Little Red Hen the dog was the laziest and the least helpful out of all the characters in the folktale. He never wanted to do any work and sat around doing nothing. Similarly to the dog was the pig that was somewhat lazy or had better things to do. In the adaptation, the pig was sitting around doing nothing which shows that he is lazy, or when the pig was dancing even though pigs cant dance he was ignoring the hen. In conclusion, there was the punctilious hen that was the hard worker and got work done unlike the dog and the pig. Also, as I said in the beginning, the author wanted us to know that hard work pays off and not working gets you nowhere. Lastly, there is the conflict which was in the adaptation of the folklore ...

  • Today Is A Fairytale {A Nelena Movie} Part 13 Part 13 I sighed and opened the folder. Five dates at the afternoon. I groaned and rubbed the back of my head. What I needed now was a cup with hot coffee! "Selena!" I yelled and waited until she came into my room. "What can I do for you, Mr Jonas?" she asked me politely. I'd never seen her that punctilious. "Sit down please." I said. The coffee had to wait. First I was going to figure out what was wrong. She took the seat in front of my desk and looked at the floor. "What's wrong?" I asked her directly. "Nothing, Mr Jonas." She said without hesitation. "You can call me Nick, you know that, don't you?" I asked her curiously and leaned over the desk. She nodded slightly. "I know Mr Jonas." I raised an eyebrow and frowned a little bit. "Is there something you want me to do or am I allowed to go?" she asked me in the politest tone. I slowly shook my head and she left the room without another word. What did I do wrong? I opened the first drawer of my desk and took out my laptop. The best thing to distract me from Selenas rejection now was work. Suddenly the door crashed against the wall. I didn't jump. I knew exactly who stood in front of my desk. "Joe." I said without looking up. "Nick." He said and sat down. "Stop working. Now!" I sighed and closed the laptop. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "Taylor broke up with me! Can you believe it?! She really broke up with me!" he said furiously. "You cheated on her, Joe." I stated calmly. Though he was my best friend since I remember I ...

The reference gets complete with a remix from Basque Country's goldsmith El Txef_A. Besides Jazzler no other than Mr. Dixie Yure is the artisan of this succulent and exquisitely spiced EP. A Dixie Yure who already appeared in labels such as Flumo Recordings, Nordik Net or mighty Fenou, from which he has nurtured a handful of hard drives from the biggest figures in danceable electronic. 'She Has' is the central theme of this EP. Powerful synth-funk of continuous beats well seasoned with translucent but savory vocals. Definitely some insane people in the crowd, but as well some crazy people attending. On a side note, I am all for freedom of speech for every individual, but Ann Coulter is borderline hate-speech. Here are some of her brilliant brain farts from the past: --On Canada: "[Canadians] better hope the United States does not roll over one night and crush them. They are lucky we allow them to exist on the same continen" --On Gays and Healthcare: Current conservative government is not conservative enough as they still have same *** marriage and socialized medicine. --On voting rights: "It would be a much better country if women did not vote. That is simply a fact." --On Liberals: "Liberals hate America, they hate flag-wavers, they hate abortion opponents, they hate all religions except Islam, post 9/11. Even Islamic terrorists don't hate America like liberals do. They don't have the energy. If they had that much energy, they'd have indoor plumbing by now." --On terrorism: "We know who the homicidal maniacs are. They are the ones cheering and dancing right now. • The Lawyer's Guide to Writing Well BOOK REVIEW THE LAWYER'S GUIDE TO WRITING WELL By Tom Goldstein and Jethro K. Lieberman ISBN: 978-0-520-23473-4 University of California Press, Berkeley 94720 www.ucpress.edu WHY GOOD WRITING MATTERS, EVEN IF YOU'RE A LAWYER An appreciation by Phillip Taylor MBE and Elizabeth Taylor of Richmond Green Chambers When Shakespeare penned his 'kill all the lawyers' line - forget which play... don't ask - he might have had it in mind that even in his day, the often bombastic outpourings of the then legal leading lights were a bit long on pomposity and a little short on clarity. It would seem that in the intervening centuries, not a lot has changed -- hence the need for this terrific book aptly titled 'The Lawyer's Guide to Writing Well' by Goldstein and Lieberman. This is one guide to writing well that's written well -- very well. It's immensely readable, laugh-out-loud amusing, yet deadly serious. It is not a new publication, having been around on the shelves of university bookshops worldwide for a while, but the advice it provides is timeless. In our opinion it should be in the library of -- or preferably at the right hand of -- every lawyer in the English speaking world. Lawyers who are at least dimly aware of the need for clear, concise communication should, if there's any justice, end up with a lot more grateful clients as a result of having read and noted the contents of this book. As the Washington Post commented, 'lawyers...need writers, or at least a guide like 'The ...

In his new position as assistant manger at a Dobson and Hawks chain store, the punctilious but ambitious Mr. Swindley seizes every opportunity that might afford him the chance to scale the social heights - from organising strategic civic functions to securing lucrative new orders for the company. Featuring scripts from an award-winning team that included Coronation Street contributors Harry Driver, Vince Powell, Geoffrey Lancashire and noted playwright Jack Rosenthal, PARDON THE EXPRESSION helped to define the type of comic role for which BAFTA winner Arthur Lowe would be most fondly remembered: that of the pompous, quietly floundering buffoon. Betty Driver - soon to be installed behind the bar of the Rovers Return - also stars as can*** manageress Mrs. Edgeley in this first series of the popular sitcom, originally screened in 1965.

It's peaceful: they visit Corfe Castle, eat vegetarian food, and go in search of raw milk. Then a fellow with a loud radio pitches his tent near theirs: Keith is beside himself and it doesn't help when Candice-Marie decides to befriend the young man. Things get worse when a couple arrive on a motorcycle, make noisy love in their tent, and then start an illegal campfire. It's too much for Keith: he loses it. Will our middle-class couple find a bucolic corner, or are they doomed to brawl with the noisy and unwashed?
