Since it opened in the 1950s, the center has been dedicated to helping people develop independent living and pre-vocational skills. Applicants apply for residence through the state. So, which services will the cuts affect? 1. Governor Sanford proposes to eliminate the PDD Waiver, which provides Applied Behavior ***ysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism. 2. He proposes to cut day services for adults with autism. These services provide support employment services; center-based pre-vocational, habilitation or rehabilitation support services; and mobile work crews or enclaves. 3. Also, he proposes to cut respite and family support funds. Please, contact the representatives on the SC Ways and Means Committee and ask them to maintain these autism services -- and, if possible, to expand these services.
