  • Columns: Architectural Foam Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) In this footage we will show you how to install architectural foam. Very straightforward process. A foam column will cover an existing metal column (4x4). We apply foam glue (provide by or ). After the glue is applied, we wait for it partially dry and then we connect the several parts of the foam column. Then we hold it in place with a blue tape. Again: The process to install archictectural foam is very easy. Just apply the glue (also sold by New Foam Design) and wait around 1 min or 2 and then stick the piece of foam to the surface you want to install the ornamental foam. • What Is The Difference Between Styrofoam and Expanded Polystyrene EPS Foam? Neil Hanekom 904-477-1982 Is Expanded Polystyrene EPS STYROFOAM™ Foam the Same? Sometimes, people are looking for expanded polystyrene foam products, but mistakenly refer to them as STYROFOAM, even though the materials are different. Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Most common foam products, like coolers, wine shippers, molded end caps and corners, box packaging and even cups at the office water cooler are actually polystyrene foam. Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is the generic industry name for the white rigid material made by expanding polystyrene beads with steam and pressure to bond the beads together to form blocks or to shape molds. EPS is also used in the construction industry for insulation and void fill. STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam for Construction STYROFOAM is a registered trademark of the Dow Chemical Company (Dow) or an affiliated company of Dow. This trademark covers a full range of extruded polystyrene building products used primarily in construction for wall insulation, floor insulation, and roof insulation systems. These insulation panels are commonly referred to as blue board in the construction industry. Most often the word Styrofoam is generically used to describe expanded polystyrene foam products like disposable coffee cups, cooler and other foam packaging materials, none of which are actually STYROFOAM.
  • Polystyrene Drum kit 1 This is 1 of 2 view the other video at This is a video of my design for a Polystyrene drum kit for kids. EPS is made up of 98% air, when struck this air creates a loud noise. By changing the density of the polystyrene different musical tones can be achieved. Every child at some point want to play drums. Every parent knows children go through phases and grow out of their toys. The kit allows children to turn a habit into a hobby and parents to nurture their child's imagination. Drumming is good exercise and can improve co-ordination. EPS is cost effective, so the drums are low risk for purchasing parents. If drumming does turn out to be a phase, the kit can still be used as building blocks and furniture. It can also be recycled at the end of its life. The kit also packs up like a Russion doll to save space. For more information please email people@

  • polystyrene hypertufa troughs You need PVA glue, sand, cement, peat in some form, water, pointing trowel and a breeze block Mix 3 parts sand - I use any type 3 parts multipurpose compost or similar. The one I use has composted shredded wood which will reinforce the mix 2 parts cement Cover the fish boxes with PVA glue before mixing the hypertufa - 4 sides, base and partly down the inside. For some extra grip try sprinkling some grit on the outside of the boxes Mix the hypertufa mix. Add some PVA to the water and mix it in. The final mix has to slightly wet so when you squeeze a hand full water comes out. Too dry and you can build with it. Lay down a plastic sheet and mark around the base of the fish box. Within this rectangle put down about 2cm of the mix and flatten it with the poiting trowel. Set down the fish box and place a breeze block inside. This will hold the box down while you build the sides. start building the sides from the bottom up. Only do about 3 inches 8cm up at a time. Use the pointing trowel to push the mix against the box. Keep going until you reach the top. Fingers crossed a side wont collapse as you work your way up. The top edge needs a couple of cm of the hypertufa placed on top. The tricky part now is to start going down the iside of the box. You need to go down at least 3 inches 8 cm. By doing this any settling of you planting mix will not show the white polystyrene. Use as much as possible around the top edge so in bulges inward. You dont want the angled sides of the box to ...
  • Architectural Foam, EPS, Expanded polystyrene, Foam Moldi... Foam polyurethane brackets are most common in commercial applications where they are installed for decorative purposes and in large quantities under overhangs. They can drastically improve the look and appeal of the building as well as the overall experience for the shoppers. Polyurethane Foam Moldings for a home will not only make it look much nicer, it will also help increase the property value on the real estate market. The great thing about Stucco Foam Moldings is that they are very inexpensive, and it takes much less time to install. The less time it takes to install items, the faster the job will be finished and the faster you will be able to move in. Because of the lightweight pieces there will be no wages going out on heavy lifting equipment. They can be used almost anywhere on a building; from roof eves, to column crowns, pre-cut designs on the outside. They also look well on window cornices, and wall caps, and pilaster caps, pediments, balusters, arches and many other types of standard or custom sizes are available. All the surfaces are paintable. All Polyurethane Foam Moldings are constructed with high quality, lightweight pieces, which have been engineered for extra support. They are very weather resistant, so there are no worries about using them outdoors. You do not have to worry about gathering bacteria because it does not support any bacterial growth; as a matter of fact, it is moisture resistant. The installers will thank you for choosing these types of ...

  • Polystyrene Polystyrene is an amorphous, glassy polymer that is generally rigid and relatively inexpensive. Unfilled polystyrene has a sparkle appearance and is often referred to as crystal PS or general purpose polystyrene (GPPS). High impact polystyrene grades (HIPS) are produced by adding rubber or butadiene copolymer which increases the toughness and impact strength of the polymer. Polystyrenes possess good flow properties at temperatures safely below degradation ranges, and can easily be extruded, injection molded, or compression molded. Considerable quantities of polystyrene are produced in the form of heat-expandable beads containing a suitable blowing agent which ultimately results in familiar foamed polystyrene articles.

The production version will encorporate a jog detail to create that gap. I am looking for a manufacturer so pass this video on if you think it should get to production. and take a look at the other road test (link above). Cheers for your help Richard Lawson people@

  • Monterey Bans Polystyrene The City of Monterey successfully adopted an ordinance that prohibits the use of polystyrene materials to be used for take out food applications within city limits. The City of Monterey has seen first-hand the impact of polystyrene foam and plastic litter in our storm drains, in our fields, on our roadways and highways, in our rivers, in the ocean and on our beaches. Banning polystyrene foam take-out packaging locally will help to address marine pollution by requiring the use of environmentally preferable alternatives while helping to educate business owners and citizens on the positive impact their packaging choices can make. Unlike many other types of packaging, littered polystyrene foam remains permanently in the environment where it breaks into tiny pieces that disperse widely. A ban may not be a cure-all, but it is a step in the right direction. We want to get people thinking about the far-reaching consequences of the simple decisions made everyday. We want people to consider the life cycle of the products they are buying - what they are made from, the energy that goes into the production and what happens after the garbage truck hauls them away
