PILI PUPPET SHOW - OP TAIWANESE SERIES Have you ever heard of Pili puppet show? It's named "Pili" because every episode has "pili" in its title. This folk-art form is performed by many kinds of puppets - some of them are cool, some intelligent, and some funny. Unlike traditional puppet shows, Pili puppet show uses state-of-the-art animation to help present its fighting art. The delicate design of the appearance and characteristics of each puppet has made Pili puppet show a well-known entertainment act in Taiwan. Pili puppet shows are made by Pili International Multimedia. The company churns out two new episodes of its immensely popular TV series per week to keep up with demand. **Review of history** Pili puppet show can be traced back to the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty around the 17th century in Quzhou or Zhangzhou in China's southern Fujian Province. Traditionally, the puppet's head is made of wood carved into the shape of a hollow human head. Aside from the head, palms and feet, which are made of wood, the puppet's torso and limbs consist entirely of cloth. Waves of Chinese immigrants began to cross the Taiwan Strait from southern Fujian and Guangdong provinces to Taiwan in the early 1600s, bringing the folk-art form with them. Taiwan remained a rugged frontier society until the late 1800s, and in most areas the puppet show was the most popular form of entertainment. As a result of the initial immigration, it took on a brand-new style.

Wulin Warriors (Pili Puppet Drama) - 2008 This hit series was canceled immediately after showing 2 episodes on Cartoon Network 3 years ago... Blame it on Animation Collective for their horrid alteration on the show by turning a serious soap drama into a tasteless comedy.

E Pili Mai Don, Eri, Kiyomi, and I planned to record this song on the hiking trail up on Wa'ahila Ridge, but rain that morning made the trail a bit slippery... not too good when you're carrying your ukuleles and recording equipment. We decided to record this song at Mo***ua Gardens. "E Pili Mai" was written by Larry Kimura and Cyril Pahinui and appears on the Peter Moon Band album, "Cane Fire." Verse 2, Stanza 2, Fires of Makana references the famed cliff in Hâ`ena, Kaua`i, where firebrands were hurled at night. The firebrands were made of small logs of hau or pâpala wood, wrapped and entwinted, carried up the cliff, set on fire and thrown from the cliff. The firebrands, supported by wind currents, would swirl over the ocean leaving trails of embers. Biography.....................................Natalie along with her husband Iolani became part of a group called "Sunland" along with Chad Guerrero and Claudia Vazquez. It was kind of a mixture of Euro-techno and Hawaiian pop; put together by Henry & Peter Bergstrom - Swedish-born writer/producers. They would have several hits from the "Eruption" CD - "We Are Only Human" and "Juliet". With cultural and musical differences and questions about financing, Natalie and 'Iolani broke from the group to musically make their own way again. Hula was always a part of Natalie; but it wasn't long before Natalie began shining solo in the spotlight again. Many among the hula community and Hawaiian music fans proclaimed, "Finally!" when Natalie Ai Kamauu's solo release "'E," arrived. It would win her the title of 2006 Female Vocalist of the Year at the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards. Pili Sariaya Quezon 4-inch Hydraulic Ram Test December 15, 2008-- This is a test run of a 4-inch hydraulic ram pump I designed (Model ET-4) and installed in Barangay Pili, Sariaya, Quezon province, about 3 hours south of Manila, a project of Cong. Proceso Alcala (2nd District) for the Pili farmers, specifically to provide irrigation water for vegetable production during the summer months when rain-fed farms traditionally go unproductive due to lack of water. The drive head is 4 meters, delivery head 30 meters, test output is 19000 plus liters per day, on a short impulse valve stroke. The supply line is still being finished up during this test, and when the hydram gets fed with upwards of 200 liters per minute and a longer stroke (larger impulse valve opening) is used, the ram will be able to lift around 50000 liters per day.
