Dr Geebers - The Pebble Man - Amroth, Pembrokeshire Dr Geebers, the Pebble Man has just reached the 1000 mile milestone at Amroth Beach in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Dr Geebers is homeless and has set himself the challenge of walking the coastline of the UK creating pebble sculptures on his way. After Christmas he will be heading towards north Wales looking for a suitable beach for his next sculpture.

Tenby to Manorbier, starting at Tenby South Beach, Passing Penally and Giltar Point, before exploring Lydstep Headland and Caverns. Passing Skrinkle Haven and Presipe Beach, the Coast Path brings us to the village of Manorbier in time for the sun set. The majority of footage was filmed during a walk on March 9th, 2011. Additional footage was shot in December 2010, on a far less windy day!

"Normandy" at Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire Irish Ferries vessel "Normandy" arriving & departing Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire. Following from www.irish-ferries-: Designed for the Gothenburg-Frederikshaven crossing, the Normandy spent most of her career on far longer routes maintaining year round services from Rosslare to France since 1989, initially on charter and purchased by Irish Ferries in 1999. Delivered to Stena Line as Prinsessan Brigitta, she was briefly on the Sweeden-Denmark route until fitted out with extra cabins to be chartered to Sealink as the St. Nicolas from 1983 until 1991. Between 1991 and 1996 she ran from Southampton to Cherbourg as Stena Normandy, and spent much of 1997 on Talink's Helsinki-Tallinn route with the name shortened to Normandy until she moved to Irish Ferries the next year. In December 2004, Irish Ferries suspended the Normandy's sailings to France, and sent the vessel to Harland and Wolfe ship yard, Belfast ahead of schedule (leaving 200 passengers stranded in France) to prevent the vessel becoming strike bound. She was the first Irish Ferries vessel to be flagged outside of Ireland (she was registered in Nassau), and her crew were outsourced when she returned in 2005. Following her first arrival in Rosslare, she was boarded by Irish Department of the Marine inspectors, who issued a detention order on the ship for failing an inspection. She returned to service 3 days late. Throughout the summer of 2005, French seamen blocked port linkspans in Cherbourg and Roscoff ...

"West is Best" Pembrokeshire - Gower Peninsula Microlight Adventure The term "West is Best" was much used by Scarlets', Lions' and Wales' rugby legend Ray Gravell to describe this wonderful part of Wales - my hope is that this short film potrays it. This film starts with a departure and climb out in a Quik 912s weight shift microlight from the first green at Rosemarket golf club, Pembrokeshire before crossing the impressive River Cleddau and its tributaries - and heading east at 1'500 feet and some fun over Oakwood theme park and the Blue Lagoon at Bluestone. Due to the bumby ride - a climb up to 7'000 feet for some wonderful views of West Wales including the sands at Pendine, before crossing Carmarthen Bay and skimming above the tops of the clouds in perfect air - it was magical!. Carmarthen Bay Airspace is controlled by RAF Pembrey Sands Air Weapons Range (D117) and used primarily as an air-to-ground bombing and strafing practice area, but due to the range being "cold" of activity I was granted permission to cross. I descended over the town of Burry Port aside the Loughor Estuary, before crossing the narrow stretch of water to the Gower Peninsula, for a wide left base and touchdown on runway 04 at Swansea. The 40 min flight is edited to the track "Higher State" by Toploader. I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

MV Lucy - Pembrokeshire When diving with West Wales Dive Center we dived the 168 feet coaster containing a cargo of calcium carbide. The Lucy ran aground in Jack Sound and later sank near North Haven on Valentines Day in 1967. Intact and upright in 40 metres (42m on spring tides) . There is a permanent buoy on the bow. Dive on slacks, which is 2.5 hours after Milford Haven or any time when the tide is 6 m or less.

Marloes sands Pembrokeshire A short film of Marloes sands in Pembrokeshire, West Wales set to the song "Born to be wild" as requested by Lisa Slack...(great choice) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia Marloes is a village in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. It is situated on the Marloes Peninsula 11 km west of the port of Milford Haven and forms the westernmost tip of the southern shore of St Brides Bay. It is within part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The parish has 10 km of mainland coastline accessible throughout by the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. It also includes the island of Skomer, accessible from Martin's Haven at the tip of the peninsula, and the small islands of Grassholm and Gateholm. The parish, together with St Brides, constitutes the community of Marloes and St Brides (population 323 in 2001). The name appears to derive from Old Welsh mail = "bare" and ros = "moor" or "promontory", identical to Melrose in Scotland. It is locally pronounced "Marlas". Part of Little England beyond Wales, it has been essentially English-speaking for 900 years. The beach (on Marloes Bay south of the village) is rated as one of the best beaches in Britain but involves a fairly long walk to reach it. There is excellent car parking that is free to National Trust Members. The National Trust owns the western half of the peninsula, including the open-access deer park on its western tip, which is a favourite area for picnicking and viewing the wildlife of Skomer Sound, including seals, choughs and puffins ...
