The peculiarity of this method is that it's even faster starting from 4 than from 75, because it utilizes an "underflow" and reaches 99 by way of -1 and -2. • Richard Wagner - Siegfried - Der Ring des Nibelungen - act 1^ part 1 "Vorspiel"/"Zwangvolle Plage!"/"Hoiho! Hoiho! Hau ein! Hau ein!"/"Da hast du die Stuecken, schaen". "Siegfried", third of the four operas of "Der Ring des Nibelungen" (The Ring of the Nibelung). Music and text by Richard Wagner (1813-1883). Conductor: Georg Solti & Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Wagner's essential peculiarity is the representation of the drama as an element of introspection; his operas can't be considered operas in the traditional meaning of the word, but great compositions where music, singing, poetry and psychology merge to interpret the life. In Wagner's conception the drama expect an almost religious attention, which the public has to attend to as the story takes place in his mind; so the drama rises magically from the imagination of the public before being in music. The music of the Cycle is composed by a mosaic of leading motifs, the leitmotiv, which embode characters or feelings, so their continuos reappearing produces a sort of psychological premonition. No closed-form pieces or arias interfer with the free flow of the narration which goes on without solution of continuity from the beginning to the end of every act, subjecting the singing to the comment of an orchestra enormous for the number of instruments and resonant wideness. It is also important in Wagner the use of chromatism, that incessant wave of chromatic spirals which is took to extremes till it leave the tonal structure. The characters of these operas are taken from the old Norse ...
  • The Third Prasad. "The Great Reveal" By The PlanetMates The Third Prasad HALF-BORNS With more time, and despite the myriad experiences and changes of the multitudinous and diverse (and mostly spread out and separated, never touching or knowing each other, on a massive planet) peoples and cultures, the Unapproved and Hidden are, because of a peculiarity of them, everywhere and always among all the many evolving and refining definitions of Human, Reality, Life — different as they could possibly be — never for a second, or even slightly, partially, or indirectly, included in that light of the obviously true, the common-sensical, by any culture. Part of this peculiarity — the relative upstart humans have another common defining characteristic: only half-ready for life at the time of birth (relative to all other brother-sister species comprising the citizens of Earth), they are, humans alone are, totally dependent for their survival upon the good will of the fully grown — often parents, but not of necessity and certainly not always. SillyMickel Comment: This message begins to tell us how we are seen as different by all other species on Earth. We are seen as not quite ready for life when we are born, and we are seen as more vulnerable and more dependent on the good will of others for our very life. This is, indeed, a way in which we differ from all other beings. I believe it is called secondary altriciality. Ill check this out more and then elaborate on this.

  • Dead End Gene Pool, Wendy Burden - 9781592405268 In the tradition of Sean Wilsey's Oh The Glory of It All and Augusten Burrough's Running With Scissors, the great-great-great granddaughter of Cornelius Vanderbilt gives readers a grand tour of the world of wealth and WASPish peculiarity, in her irreverent and darkly humorous memoir. For generations the Burdens were one of the wealthiest families in New York, thanks to the inherited fortune of Cornelius "The Commodore" Vanderbilt. By 1955, the year of Wendy's birth, the Burden's had become a clan of overfunded, quirky and brainy, steadfastly chauvinistic, and ultimately doomed bluebloods on the verge of financial and moral decline-and were rarely seen not holding a drink. In Dead End Gene Pool, Wendy invites readers to meet her tragically flawed family, including an uncle with a fondness for Hitler, a grandfather who believes you can never have enough household staff, and a remarkably flatulent grandmother. • Hilary Hahn plays Glazunov Violin Concerto in A minor this is part 2 of 2 Alexander Glazunov Violin Concerto in A minor, Opus 82 is one of his most popular compositions. Written in 1904, the concerto was dedicated to violinist Leopold Auer, who gave the first performance at a Russian Musical Society concert in St. Petersburg on February 15, 1905. The British premiere of the concerto followed just over a year later, under the direction of Sir Henry Wood and with Mischa Elman as soloist. The violin concerto is quite representative of Glazunov's technically brilliant style. Like many other concerti, the work contains three movements, they are: 1.Moderato, 2.Andante sostenuto, 3.Allegro The slow second movement is seamlessly inserted by the composer into the middle of the first movement, which is an original and rare structural peculiarity of this composition. The main cadenza at the end of the first movement was composed by Glazunov himself. It utilises extensive double-stopping technique and is considered one of the hardest parts of the concerto. The concerto is written as a single continuous 21-minute-long piece and is performed without any pauses between movements.

  • مقام عجم - يوسف عمر Maqam 'Ajam - Yusuf Omar Iraqi Maqam المقام العراقي Yusuf Omar and al-Chalghi al-Baghdadi Maqam 'Ajam مقام عجم This basic maqam uses the 'ajam mode, transposition of the chahargah on B flat, which is sometimes called 'ajam 'ushayran in reference to its lower tonic B flat. Indeed, its peculiarity is to begin on the tonic and to end on the tonic an octave lower. It is performed without any rhythmic accompaniment, the measured introduction not being considered an integral part of the maqam. * First part - Measured instrumental introduction. - Improvised introduction on the santur, presenting the maqam. (0:38) - Tahrir in 'ajam mode on the words "faryade men jenejanem". (1:08) - Instrumental part on the joza picking up the tahrir melody. (1:37) - Three verses representing the melody of the tahrir interspersed with improvised pieces on the santur and joza. (1:57) - Cadenza jalsa proceeding by movements from B flat towards D then from G towards the lower B flat. (7:29) Second part: - Meyana in bayat mode composed of three parts sung to the words "nazenine men", "jahane men", "ouh", and followed by a descent towards the tonic B flat on the words "umide man". (7:58) - Piece "Saba" including two sung verses in saba mode announcing the return of 'ajam. (8:48) - Final teslim, a descent from B flat to the one an octave lower. - Peste, "Kul lahdha ammur 'aliek" to the 10/16 jurjina rhythm. • Ludwig van Beethoven - Sonata n.17 in D minor, Op31/2 (1/3). I. Largo - Allegro. Maurizio Pollini, piano. ______________________________ Ludwig van Beethoven's unique D-minor piano Sonata belongs to the three Op31 Sonatas (the other two ones are respectively in G major and in E flat major). The peculiarity of the so-called 'Storm-Sonata' (this 'nickname' isn't original and probably takes its origin from the 'perpetuum mobile'-like third movement) jump to the eyes immediately after a quick look to the main key: whereas the Op31/1 and Op31/3 are based on vigorous and vivacious major keys, the Op31/2 is based on a severe and misterious D minor, whose use is frequently reserved to criptical or experimental composition, probably because of his solemn seriousness. The first movement is written in a modified Sonata-Form in the guise of the traditional 'Slow-Fast' structure. The novelty is that the slow introduction takes part in the thematic elaboration: in a way, we can consider it as the 'first theme', and the faster section must be considered as the second theme. But the traditional dialectics between the masculine strongness of the first theme and the sweeter, more singable second one now is completely deformed: the singability belongs to the first theme's dimension, the stormly wildness of the second theme is constantly and misteriously put on discussion by the shy and calm first theme, a low-voice 'Recitative' which for good reveals itself in the development. This 'Rhapsodic' structure of this movement can be seen as an anticipation ...

  • Jai Mata Di. Jai Maa Karni Shri Karni Mata temple is a 600 years old temple at Deshnoke, Rajasthan, India. Karni Maa is an incarnation of Maa Parvati Ji. The peculiarity of this temple is that thousands of rats are worshipped here. The temple in its present form was completed in the early 20th century in late Mughal style by Maharaja Ganga Singh. This temple is dedicated to Karni Maa. There is a legend that she prophesied the victory of Rao Bika. The rats are seen as holy, owing to the belief that the souls of the followers of Karni Maa are in these rats and thus they must be looked after. The huge silver gates to the temple, and the marble carvings are a "SEWA" by Maharaja Ganga Singh. Throughout the year pilgrims from anywhere come to pay religious tribute to Karni Maa. Outside Rajasthan she is respected and loved in areas like Punjab, Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana. During Navratri thousands come to the temple on foot. If one of the rats is killed, it must be replaced with one made of solid gold. The initial setup is for Spectrum data to be used. This does not work in iTunes. Audio Peak data , queued to create a structure does however work, as can be seen from the two versions of this code sample . Note both the Spectrum and the Peak data versions work fully in Quartz Composer. It is only in iTunes itself, where it would seem it is intended to work, that the default data set doesn't render at all. This is not the only peculiarity of graphics rendering in QC 4 , and it just seems to get stranger by each successive update. OpenCL is pretty amazing code in some ways, however, it definitely seems to have problems, not so much in its syntactic reference, so far as I know, but in its compilation. That does not seem to have much to do with this little peculiarity though, the OpenCL Mesh is compiled with the data that hits it and the Spectrum data works in QC, so why not iTunes . I really think a standalone visualizer window is a much better idea. [sometimes] .

  • Cancer parthway During the 1960s and 1970s, a great deal of research was done on a class of viruses that affects rodents and birds and causes tumors in those species. The motivation for a lot of this research was the idea that similar viruses might cause tumors in humans, but in fact it's turned out that there are very few viruses that cause tumors in humans. Nevertheless, the study of these rodent viruses has been enormously fruitful in helping us to understand human cancer, and that's the basis of this story. One of the viruses that was studied in those years had two peculiarities. One was that it had lost most of the genes that it needed to reproduce itself. It could only reproduce if a helper virus was present in the same cell to supply the missing functions. The second peculiarity was that in place of the genes that were required for reproduction of the virus was another gene that had actually been picked up at some point in the history of this virus when it went through rats, and it picked up a rat gene and incorporated it into its own genome. At the same time that a lot of work was going on on these viruses, other scientists were studying other aspects of tumor formation, in particular, the action of carcinogenic agents, chemicals and X-rays and ultraviolet light. As you all know, human cells can turn into tumor cells under the influence of such agents. The tumor-like properties of those cells are inherited by all the daughter cells through many generations and ...

  • Video Recensione Compaq Mini 700 netbooknews.it - Today we present the Compaq mini 700,the new netbook created by hp compact. Its about a new model with a 10 inch display, atom processor, 60 Gb hardware and windows XP home installed. Lets take a closer look at it: The design is one of its strong points, the thickness is about 2.5 cm and the weight is a little more than 1 kg. On the right side we find one of the two usb ports, the current collector, the Ethernet port covered up by a rubber cap and the connector for the video output, that however needs, to be used, a specific adapter. Its the same for external microphone and earphones: theres only one output for both and its necessary to use an headphone alike that of the mobile phones. On the left side we find the other usb port and the card reader 4 in 1. Instead, on the front side we find two buttons: the on/off switch of the netbook, and the on/off switch for the wi-fi/ Bluetooth cards, with a colorful and all-bright led to inform of its working. At the bottom have its place the thin three cells battery and the door to increase RAM. The peculiarity of this door is the click opening, very simple and that doesnt imply the removal of screws. It is worth to point out the presence of a slot for sim cards, that however come to naught because of the lack of an inside 3g modem. Apart from the design , the most well-appreciated feature of this Compaq mini 700 is the keyboard, that with its wide and flat keys is one of the best types ever tried; indeed, you can ...

The revolutionizing realization of the concept to a transportation will change the passenger traffic between the coasts of the Mediterranean, from north- or Baltic sea, the Caribbean the red sea and other big waters. Because on basis of the guidelines of the IMO (International MaritimeOrganization), and the MSC, Maritime Safety Committee, the FLYSHIP80 is regarded as a ship. The first FLYSHIP 80 probably enters operation in 2011 for distances between 150 km and approximately 800 km in order to transport up to 80 passengers between the coasts of inner seas and selected big inner waters. Under leadership of the engineer Dr.-Ing. Ulf-Dieter Ulken, who is well experienced in shipbuilding and financed through private investors, FLYSHIP 80 converts an idea as license taker of secured patents that were developed worked out and approved for more than 30 years.
