Flexible Panopticon - Design Behind Bars (Turin) Design is supposed to be all about flexibility and, if you want to point this out in an exhibition, you better pick a flexible location as well. Though it has a rather cutesy title, the Flexibility show at the former Le Nuove prison in Turin is one of the main events of Torino 2008 World Design Capital and its very location is a statement of adaptation, though one can't kind escape the echoes of Discipline and Punish. In Fiction - Isis - Panopticon - 2004 (PCM-FLAC).avi Panopticon is the third full-length album by Los Angeles, California, USA-based post-metal band Isis, released on October 19, 2004 by Ipecac Recordings. The album's title derives from philosopher Jeremy Bentham's panopticon prison ideal and philosopher/historian Michel Foucault's later allegorical appropriation of the concept. The liner notes also include quotes from technology writer Howard Rheingold and futurist Alex Steffen. The album artwork shows an almost isometric aerial photograph of South San Francisco and San Bruno, California (to the north and west of San Francisco International Airport), reinforcing the notion of "being watched", or omniscience. This reintroduces the tower theme of past releases through convention; the center of the circular panopticon was designed either for a lone guard or a central tower, with which the surrounding cells/rooms/etc. are governed. The tower links to a major theme of Celestial, which also links to a female character (as featured in the story of Oceanic). Doctor Who Panopticon Eight - Regeneration Mix (1987) "Panopticon Eight - Regeneration Mix" (Mark Ayres) - an arrangement loosely based upon the Grainer melody, created for the 1987 DWAS convention. Doctor Who: Variations on a Theme is a collection of four wildly differing interpretations of Ron Grainer's Doctor Who theme by three of the series' late-80s staff composers: Mark Ayres, Keff McCulloch and Dominic Glynn. Three of the versions were composed for various Doctor Who Appreciation Society conventions in the late 1980s, while the fourth was arranged specifically for the release. The initial album (or EP) was issued in 1989 by Metro Music International, and was initially available widely as a 12-inch vinyl single. A CD issue was also produced, as was an unusual square-shaped CD that reportedly would not play correctly on most players at the time; this latter version is now considered a collectable. In 1991, Silva Screen Records, as part of its licence to reissue Doctor Who-related music, reissued the collection on CD. The Panopticon´s Eye "The Panopticon's Eye" comprehends various artistic disciplines that combine and interact. The "image theatre" and "action theatre", as a game between body language and staging, interact almost permanently with video projections which complete the background of the central stage, to which two side stages are added. The auditory and visual resources of multimedia are combined with the weight of six actors' live performance, to find an aesthetic code that offers the spectator a moving sensual and conceptual experience. The music, composed for the play, shares a leading and almost permanent role. It comprehends several styles such as ambient, electronic, classical and some exploration into ethnic Asian and African forms.

PANOPTICON i'm hoping youtube doesn't kill the sound on this version. This was basically an experiment to see what would happen and how people would react. The central idea behind panopticism is that people behave and follow societal norms because they never know when and what will matter. Turns out most people just ignored me. Ironically, its probably because they were afraid of associating with me in case someone saw them.
