  • ***ing redtail boas/snakes- Palpation Method I can tell you I agree with everyone else this method is the only full proof way to *** smaller boas. If a young boa has hemipenes its next to impossible to not feel the hemipenes underneath the skin. Sometimes the hemipenes are far down in the tail so make sure you apply firm pressure all the way down. If you are afraid of injuring the animal you may not apply the right pressure needed so make sure if you are nervous about it to get someone experienced to show you. I used probes in this video for illustrative purposes. I don't think boas less than 4ft should be probed as the palpation method is less invasive and more accurate than probing and poping in young boas. Why have so many boas in the past been ***ed wrong all these years by experienced keepers? Poping, if the male tightens up in the right way it can prevent hemepenes from everting. Same thing with probing. A male could tighten up and prevent the probe from reaching depths that would classify it as a male as well as you perforating the wall and making the probe go deep in a female. Learn this method and you will see you can *** a rack full of baby snakes with 100% accuracy in minutes! As always it's always about redtail boa morphs and locality Surinames all the time on my channel!

  • Abdominal Examination, systematic abdominal palpation. Here in this video I want to demonstrate examination of abdomen. Before examination of abdomen patient confidence should be gained.patient should lie flat on his back comfortably. Ask the patient to relax and breathe slightly deeply keeping his mouth open in order to keep his abdominal muscles in a relaxed state. This facilitates proper abdominal palpation. Now abdominal palpation always done in two steps- superficial palpation and deep palpation. In superficial palpation use flat surface of the hand, mainly flexure surface of fingers. Abdominal palpation should be done in systematic manner from one quadrant to another, either clock wise or anticlock wise. It is always advised to start abdominal examination from the farthest site from the disease site. While going for deep palpation it is better to use both hands, keeping one above the other. It is a good practise to keep patient engaged with conversation while palpating abdomen, to keep his attention off from palpation and abdominal muscles relaxed for better palpation. On deep palpation keep the flat surface of one hand on abdominal wall and put pressure from other palm and try to feel deep abdominal pathology from the flat surface of contact hand. While examination look at the change in facial expression as sometimes patient never tell about of pain while palpating, but there is change in facial expression due to pain.
