  • Mermaid and Coral Reef Teapot - hand sculpted pottery A mermaid holds a scarlet starfish in her hands as she floats through a colorful coral reef. Her light brown hair flows around her shoulders. Purple and lavender coral, aqua and chartreuse seaweed, and pink, orange and blue shells are stamped, carved and sculpted onto the "sea" of the teapot base. Her tail, which forms the handle (see photos 7 & 8) is sponge decorated in light and dark green, with carved accent on the fin. The pot holds 3 cups of tea and has an interior strainer (see photo 9). It measures 7 1/2" tall and 4 1/4" wide at the widest point. Th bottom measures 3" wide. The piece is thrown, sculpted, dried bone dry and underglazed.
