A flower, sometimes known as a bloom or blossom, is the reproductive structure found in flowering plants (plants of the division Magnoliophyta, also called angiosperms). The biological function of a flower is to effect reproduction, usually by providing a mechanism for the union of sperm with eggs. Flowers may facilitate outcrossing (fusion of sperm and eggs from different individuals in a population) or allow selfing (fusion of sperm and egg from the same flower). Some flowers produce diaspores without fertilization (parthenocarpy). Flowers contain sporangia and are the site where gametophytes develop. Flowers give rise to fruit and seeds. Many flowers have evolved to be attractive to animals, so as to cause them to be vectors for the transfer of pollen.

Outcrossing two different generations of cats results in healthy kittens and normal delivery as was proven in Persian cat Matahari's first litter of 6 kittens, a record for a first litter. The beauty of these kittens is for the viewers to decide as in normal "Cat Shows" for i am just presenting them as a "Cat Fancier" to viewers. In India there are no "Cat Shows" unlike dog shows for which i won numerous prizes with my pet dachshund *** "Lucky(1984-1993), a excellent specimen of her breed."Lucky's" prizes are displayed along with the kittens, a tradition of having pets in our household since decades.Hope cat shows are started in India as cats are becoming popular due to their less care and maintainance although persian cats maintenance is expensive compared to other breeds, hence they are called the "Queen of Cats".;- Dog , Cat and Bird fancier Rudolph.A.Furtado
  • American Curl (NOW WITH SOUND) American Curl Ears curled back With a playful, affectionate demeanor The American Curl loves children and gets along well with other pets American Curls are basically easygoing, fun loving cats. They are playful and affectionate, and enjoy the company of children. They also tend to get along well with dogs and other cats. American Curls thrive on attention, but are not excessively vocal cats. The look of the American Curl can vary significantly from one cat to another. All American Curls should have the signature curled ear. American Curls need regular ear checks to make sure their ears are healthy. Owners can check the ears for accumulated ear wax or other problems during weekly grooming sessions. American Curl History: The American Curl was founded in California in the early 1980s, and was the result of a naturally occurring mutation in Domestic Shorthairs and Longhairs. Two fanciers obtained kittens with curled ears from a stray litter and began to research Scottish Folds. They discovered the curled ears on these kittens were different from those of the Fold, and began working toward having them recognized as a new breed. In 1986, The International Cat Association (TICA) accepted the American Curl into the registry with Champion status. Five years later, the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) also recognized the breed. The American Cat Fanciers Association (AFCA) also registers American Curls. The Look of the American Curl: American Curls have distinct, curled back ears ...

The guerrilla band led by Ernesto "Che" Guevara was pinned down and surrounded by Bolivian Army Rangers. Less than a year earlier, Guevara and a team of cadres had secretly traveled from Cuba to Bolivia to launch a guerrilla war, hoping to topple Bolivia's pro-US military government. Guevara had gone up into the mountains with about 50 supporters. Within months they were discovered by Bolivian troops. And an intense pursuit started. Trying to escape the government forces, Guevara divided his supporters into two groups, and was never able to reunite them. His diary records that, by late August, his group was exhausted, demoralized and down to 22 men. On August 31 the other group was ambushed and wiped out crossing a river. On September 26, Bolivian army units ambushed Che's remaining forces near the isolated mountain huts of La Higuera. The guerrillas found no way out of the encirclement. Several died in the shooting. Guevara himself was wounded in the leg. He and two other fighters were captured on October 8 and taken to an old one-room schoolhouse in La Higuera. The next day, October 9, a helicopter flew in a man called "Felix Ramos" who wore the uniform of a Bolivian officer. "Ramos" took charge of the prisoner. Two hours ...

  • American Alsatian Keeper of the Knight Young 8 month old rare silver sable male pup is being kept at the Schwarz Kennels in southern Oregon for breeding purposes. Keeper brings hybrid vigor back into saturated tight line breedings in that he is an F-5/F-19 and will be bred to females who will be out of our F-18 stock Zorro. Zorro is also his grandfather. Keepers Mother "Celestial Morning Star" is the daughter of Zorro and will have three places on the future stocks pedigrees. Keeper has Great Pyreneese and Anitolian five generations back on his fathers side. You can see the Pyr topline and Mastiff/Pyr rolling movement in Keeper. This will be pretty much elimenated in his offspring. We will only choose pups with SHORT tails and STRAIGHT tails if we can help it. We choose temperament and character before the look of the pup as much as we can. Its a delicate balance as to which pup we choose to carry on the lines. Long tails being DOMINATE we can NOT choose a pup with a long tail. Girth is also a recessiveness and can easily ruin your thick, girthy conformation of your dogs if a breeder is not careful to choose the right pups to breed back to. We ALWAYS choose our puppy first and the rest are sold to the public. Our foundation line breeding stock is over 20 yrs selectively chosen to beget sound, loving gentle, intellegent dogs. Keeper is an outcross that will bring hybrid VIGOR in health, bone, character and temperament because he has it all in his genes. We have not trained him and he is still a young pup, but ...

  • Sphynx (cat) bred in Canada The Sphynx (also known as Canadian Hairless ) is a rare breed of cat known for its lack of a coat. The contemporary breed of Sphynx (known also as the Canadian Sphynx, distinct from the Russian Sphynx breeds - Peterbald, Don Sphynx) started in 1966, in Roncesvalles, Toronto when a hairless kitten named Prune was born. The kitten was mated with its mother (backcrossing), which produced one more *** kitten. Together with a few *** kittens found later it became the primogenitor of the breed. The first sphynx breeders faced a number of problems: The genetic pool was very limited; breeders had rather vague ideas about sphynx genetics; and many kittens died. The *** male Epidermis born in 1975 to short-haired mother provided new material to sphynx fanciers and new genes for further breed development. In the early stages of the breed crosses with devon-rex were used, but later this crossing was frowned upon because it caused health problems. Now the Canadian Sphynx is a breed with a sound genetic pool. Outcrossing is still permitted using guidelines set down in the "standards" from each Feline Association around the globe.

  • RC Star Wars X-Wing Fighter build PART 8 (Rough Build test model) Fourth Flight attempt Okay so back out to the field but this time it flew!!! I had complete control and it did what I wanted it too. Although it still does want to stall when I reduce airspeed. Moving the CG even more will correct this I am sure. I already had moved it some this time and I could tell a very big difference on how it reacted in flight. So I am going in the correct direction with the CG. Next I will reinforce them darn wings. I been putting it off since the beginning because I did not want to put a while lot of build since it is only a test model. But seems I am going to have to so I can continue my flight test correctly. I do plan to get it flying perfect then I will remove that vertical stab and see how flies. I really want it to be able to fly without it with wings in X Pattern. I can deal with putting a transparent vertical that comes up for when wings are closed. Okay but before I can do any of that I need to fix the reason it crashed. Once I got home I opened it up. I plugged my battery back up and the canard went into full down position and all the rest of the servos locked. I did not even have control of the motor either. It made a weird buzzing sound also. I got to messing with it and the servos freed back up and it acted normal again. Only a few seconds later the canard went into full down and it locked up again. Weird. • A Hollywood Heartache: Episode 11 /// Part 2 ( READDESCRIPTION ) I caught a typo in the last two episodes! Jesse and Ella wanted to get married in TWO WEEKS, not a month like I had said in the Thanksgiving episode. And the reason Jesse's mom didn't want them to get married so soon is due to the fact that the trip was planned for two weeks! And in the very last episode (before this one) it said 3 DAYS LATER... it was definitely suppose to be 2 weeks later. Hope you all follow! LOL. [[ Episode 11 Part 2 ]] "I need to talk to you," Hayden leaned forward and whispered, "It's important and private." We were back on the plane headed for Lake Tahoe and so far, everything was going smoothly. Jesse, Ella, and I managed to keep things cordial with out crossing the line to fake. If you were to look up the definition of Chivalry in the dictionary, Milo's picture would be right beside it. He always knew just the right things to say and do, it's what made him so irresistible. "Thank you!" Hayden exclaimed, switching seats with Milo. "What's up?" I asked. "Ella threw up again," Hayden explained, "But this time she turned on the faucet and started clanking things together to drown out the sound of her puking." Wiki has a good definition for the intent: "...the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response" --- and that desired response is to get a born-again, spirit-filled believer to move in the FLESH. You definitely don't have time to waste when you're busy spreading the Gospel & one of the biggest tools the enemy uses is, *surprise*: 'Attack other Christians'! You don't want to be found in that camp! Another thing the enemy does is bank upon your ability to 'therefore STAND'. If you allow a nicey-nice legalism to invade, the enemy walks all over you. • Shabnam Jabbari - Botany 2010 Flower Color Variability and Mixed Mating in the Protandrous Herb Saponaria officinalis (L. Caryophyllaceae). Co-author: Sandra L. Davis The perennial herb Saponaria officinalis is protandrous; within a flower, anthers dehisce before stigmas are receptive. Theory predicts this type of breeding system may have evolved to prevent self-fertilization and inbreeding depression. However, overlap between gender stages may allow for self-fertilization, resulting in a mixed mating system. The high frequency of mixed mating systems found in nature is intriguing, as theoretical models have predict plants will evolve to complete outcrossing or selfing. However, a mixed mating system in which selfing is delayed until opportunities for outcrossing have passed, provides the genetic benefits of outcrossing and the reproductive assurance of selfing. Prior studies have shown that pollinators are important in the reproduction of S. officinalis but flowers may still self-fertilize. Flowers of S. officinalis vary from white to pink; corresponding with the gender development of the flower. Color variability may affect pollinator visitation and preference. Therefore, to understand the evolution of mixed mating in S. officinalis, it is necessary to understand the interaction between these variables. Flower color may be a genetically determined trait and differ between populations. In addition, it is believed that sun exposure has an effect on the concentration of the anthocyanin. In this study ...

  • labrador puppies sydney breeding Labrador puppies breeding Sydney NSW Australia There are various breeding systems or methods that have been tried and tested over many years for the breeding of dogs, such as Labrador Retriever puppies. And which include line-breeding, inbreeding, out-crossing, and out-breeding. Each of these are briefly discussed below. Line-breeding The Line-breeding method of breeding used by dog breeders is that involving the mating dogs that have common ancestor/s, and which the dogs being mated are more than one generation apart (eg cousins, grandson to grand-daughter, etc). The aim of this system is to strengthen and reproduce the desirable traits from the common quality ancestor/s. This method of dog breeding is used and/or recommended by various dog breeders, veterinarians, etc, and in our opinion, is the preferred system to use. Inbreeding The Inbreeding method of breeding used by dog breeders is that involving the mating of closely related dogs (eg father to daughter, etc). We believe that this method of dog breeding possesses unacceptable risks, and which render it unacceptable. Out-crossing The Out-crossing method of breeding used by dog breeders is that involving the mating of dogs that are not related, but are bred together in an attempt for each of the dog's qualities etc to complement the other's (eg a short *** is mated with a tall sire, etc). We believe that this system of mating produces puppies of a lower standard than that of line-breeding. Out-breeding The Out ...
