|_/-\ STR@|)@ 7 |_/-\ STR@|)@ is Federico Fellini's moving masterpiece that explores the soul's eternal conflict between the heart and mind. Zampano (Anthony Quinn) is a cruel, traveling carnival strongman who buys his assistant, a simple minded young woman named Gelsomina (Giulietta Masina), from her poverty-stricken family. Gelsomina is innocent and childlike (Masina's exquisite performance is as comic as it is heartbreaking). She does Zampano's bidding without question or resistance, even though he is abusive to her. He abandons her in the street to spend the night with a woman. He lashes her with a tree branch when she misquotes her introductory lines. He forces her to steal from a convent. Yet, she remains faithful and uncomplaining. It is a relationship akin to Vladimir and Estragon in Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot: inasmuch as one resents being with the other, there is also a realization that one needs the other. But soon, their fragile relationship is disrupted when Gelsomina meets The Fool (Richard Basehart), a witty circus clown. He mercilessly taunts the oafish Zampano, who can only react with violence. Nevertheless, he is kind and reassuring to the gentle, suffering Gelsomina, offering her a means to leave Zampano. It is the rivalry over her that precipitates the film's inevitable tragedy. La Strada is one of Fellini's most accessible and humane works, a film of understated beauty and profound insight. The theme of a soul torn between the heart and mind is prevalent in ...
My Cartoon Platoon (Part 1/3) MrDowerPower talks about the three cartoons that are not only his favorite and have influenced him in many ways, but they are also staples for his animated television show that he has been concocting for over 3 years and is nearly complete. The concepts, the personalities in these shows, as well as the tired abundance of oafish, fat males as lead characters has made MrDowerPower create a show that not only has a satirical element similar to South Park, but also has a 2/1 ratio, female to male cast. (Seriously, enough of the male stock characters. I just find females more fun to write about.) Will he ever go into detail about his show? Until everything is absolutely copyrighted, no. Never. But, although these three cartoons that MrDowerPower is going to present have a major influence on his show, there not complete rip-offs; bits and pieces, here and there, are all one really needs. Throw that in a huge pot, along with your own spices, and you've got you're very own show when all the cooking is right and tight. MrDowerPower begins with the ***age Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Oronzo De Filippi: Architettura Industriale (1967 Meccanizzazione Progressive Lounge) Edgy, progressive, mechanical lounge music is a small genre and I can't think of many other albums quite as unique as Meccanizzazione, unless I leap forward to the 80s and dig out my Devo EZ Listening disc or one of Mothersbaugh's solo albums. Architect of this piece, Oronzo De Filippi, made music that leaps right out of the library envelope - even convincing me that the harpsicord can give a song the edge... The music looks to the future, as does the video. This futuristic sales pitch for big, fast cars, is a potted history class with a totally unpleasant 'Joe Bloggs' central father / worker / time traveller. Watch as he shirks work, leers at women, drives aggressively, shows disgusting table manners, oafish, and has to be prevented from thumping his son. So really, what I'm saying is that the video is a speeded up version of The Jetsons meets The 'pink' Simpsons meets The Car Magnets. Or just great character design accompanied by a feisty Filippi library classic?

Advice For The Ladies Version 3.0 of "Creepy Eddie," now more like "Clueless, Oafish Eddie." I decided to ditch the nervous part of the character and instead play up the louder, more abrasive element. This was great for practicing the forward, in-your-face quality that I've been admiring in many other comics. This was a brand-new routine, and I was kind of dreading it because I felt unprepared...but it went okay. I edited out a repeat of my earlier bit about showering without water -- this audience didn't go for it. Thanks to John DeKoven and Bunjo's.

2008 Kawasaki KLX450R - Dirt Bikes We all know that you don't have to be the biggest, baddest dude in the group to get some action. Sure, those guys have their moments, and maybe those attention-grabbing physiques are exactly what some people are looking for. But, if people only shack-up with the best there'd be no hope for the rest. That's exactly where Kawasaki falls into the mix with its 2008 KLX450R. While Honda is the chiseled muscle-head that impresses with its biceps, and the Yamaha is more of the easy-on-the-eyes, smooth talking type, the Kawasaki's role is of "the friend". The KLX is definitely lovable and has some attractive features alright, but they're hidden behind its somewhat oafish appearance. If you can look past the soft exterior you'll find that there's more to this bike than meets the eye. Read the full comparision review at www.motorcycle-usa.com

Interview with Maciej Stuhr star of Śluby panieńskie (War of Love) Showing in Cineworld, Parnell st, Dublin from December 10th 2010. Released by Element Pictures Distribution. Śluby panieńskie is directed and writtten by Filip Bajon. Śluby panieńskie (War of Love) is a slyly farcical adaptation of an 18th-century social comedy by Aleksander Fredro. The main action takes place in 1825, in several comfortably appointed manor homes and thesurrounding countryside in southern Poland, where beautiful cousins Klara (fiery Marta Zmuda Trzebiatowska) and Aniela (camera-friendly Anna Cieslak) vow to never marry, despite their parents' intent to betroth them to oafish Albin (Borys Szyc) and conceited Gustaw (Maciej Stuhr), respectively. Much as in Shakespearean comedies, the lovely ladies are led to renege on their oath through the machinations of a clever suitor. (Variety)

Turbografx/Turboduo Exile Wicked Phenomenon playthrough 6/11 So as i was saying about names being altered... Part 6 of my Exile Wicked Phenomenon begins in Caira and the dungeon here is a pyramid. Its weird the names of the locations you visit are slightly altered names of real life cities with the exception of Baghdad which is spelled correctly for some reason. Also, Lawrene is the man. Not only does he look like Magneto (come on! don't you see it? he's only missing the helmet to complete the look!), but the oafish manner in which he swings his axe nails dudes on both sides of him. His attack range is obscene, and his strength and defense is likewise really good despite the fact it takes a bajillion hits to kill a mummy and you'll still die instantly if one touches you.

Red Dragon (Red, Black, Silver) Wondering why I'm back? I got sent home from the doctor's for a few days due to power failures caused by hurricanes. I had enough time to make you guys a video so I hope you enjoy it! =D ps I apologize for using my huge oafish brush. My brushes got moved around while I was gone so it's all that I could find that would work for this. It proves that you really don't need much to do this look! :) I made this in a jiff and didn't have time to say a few things so I'll pop them over here in this section. Pat the red shadow just up to the crease and then blend upwards towards your brow bone. Pack on more red where the color has faded out. Add highlight below the brow and blend it downwards to shape out the red. All the other instructions are on the video. I have to do my tutorials with captions until I get a new camera (audio is poor on this one). I hope you enjoy! -[AsToldBy]Tammy

HOODWINKED:Trailer In the re-telling of this classic fable, the story begins at the end. Chief Grizzly (Xzibit) and Detective Bill Stork (Anthony Anderson) investigate a domestic disturbance at Granny's (Glenn Close) cottage, involving a karate-kicking Red Riding Hood (Anne Hathaway), a sarcastic wolf (Patrick Warburton) and an oafish Woodsman (Jim Belushi). The charges are many: breaking and entering, intent to eat, wielding an axe without a license, but these unusual suspects have their story to tell first. Granny: Glenn Close Red: Anne Hathaway The Woodsman: Jim Belushi The Wolf: Patrick Warburton Det. Bill Stork: Anthony Anderson Copyright 2006 The Weinstein Company.

Insidious Numbers Insidious Numbers was an idea for a song I had when I was about 18ish (T minus 15 years before i could play the guitar on any level) I had probably just learned the word "Insidious", or some other fool excuse such as that. :D A few years ago I was rummaging through old notes to see if there were any unmined nuggets. I only saved the first verse but retained the attitude XD. The rest was written in 2008. This is the second track on my CD called: One Bummer After Another Anyone that is interested I'll send you a copy for the cost of production and postage ($5). PM with your address and paypal info if interested. I hope to produce at least 4 more videos from that CD in the next year. I'm 20% finished with Happy Fun Time audio is here www.youtube.com The images are from some of my recent paintings that I then extruded through After Effects. I had more in store for this video. I wanted to have the lyrics appear and then melt away but my computer is a puss and I was lucky to get this much out of it. 3 GBs isn't as impressive as it used to be. lyrics: Insidious numbers Tell me what you tell your mother I just want to make love to you --- Poorly written Haikus Masquerading as poetry I just want to cut the crap --- False prolegomena Chattering oafish dissidents I just want the truth --- Crocodile penguin Drop a bomb on your brother I just want to be left alone --- Royal savant burnout Drag us along your joyride I just want to live in peace

Murun Buchstansangur cannot get out of his mind his nextdoor neighbour's oafish boyfriend I don't know where this comes in the series, I've ripped them from a taped-off-the-telly DVD I bought on eBay, which came with no details. I obviously don't own the rights so if the owners object then I'll gladly take it down. Am posting only to fuel the interest in a full official DVD release for Murun.

My Cartoon Platoon (Part 2/3) MrDowerPower talks about the three cartoons that are not only his favorite and have influenced him in many ways, but they are also staples for his animated television show that he has been concocting for over 3 years and is nearly complete. MrDowerPower continues with The Powerpuff Girls.
