MIKHEIL SAAKASHVILI, President of Georgia, said that sometimes the most extreme tests of the United Nations lofty ideals arose in small, even obscure places, such as his own country, which, with fewer than 5 million people, had last month been invaded by its neighbour. However, despite Georgias small size, the legal, moral, political and security implications raised by that invasion could not be larger in their consequence, as those issues lay at the very heart of the Organizations founding Charter. He said the invasion of his country not only violated its internationally recognized borders, but the subsequent recognition of the so-called independence of its two regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia challenged its territorial integrity, while the ethnic cleansing of hundreds of thousands of its people did violence to the very idea of human rights. Asserting that developments in Georgia presented the General Assembly with a general challenge, the Georgian leader asked if, in the face of such a challenge, the Assembly would stand up for its founding principles, or allow those principles to be crushed under what he called the treads of invading tanks. He urged the Assembly to refuse to stand silent in the face of armed aggression and assault on human rights, and instead stand united and immediately adopt a non-recognition policy towards ...

  • April 24 2010 in Paris : Harut Sassounian English translation ---- I am here to bring you the greetings of more than one-million Armenian-Americans. (0:19) I am also here today to transmit to you the solidarity of all Armenian Americans. (0:26) The Armenian communities of France and the United States (0:31) are two of the most important communities in the Diaspora. (1:10) I am here to tell you that it is not important if President Obama uses the term "Armenian Genocide" in his annual April 24 statement. (1:22) Why? Because you have been misinformed regarding the non-recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the United States. (1:30) That is not true because President Ronald Reagan issued a Presidential Proclamation in 1981 (1:42) that specifically mentioned the term "the genocide of the Armenians." (1:48) Equally, the House of Representatives, twice, in 1975 and 1984, adopted resolutions recognizing the Armenian Genocide. (2:03 ...
  • WARIAZONE trailer The documentary film WARIAZONE explores the notion of transgender in Indonesia - a country with the world's largest Moslem community. Warias (male-to-female trans***uals) contend that God made them this way. However, religious circles have labelled them sinful. Activist attempts to increase tolerance have paradoxically forced warias to keep silent. Bringing ***uality to the public's attention has provided extreme religious groups with the opportunity to attack them in the name of "protecting public morals" and the "freedom of speech". Warias, who are often described as a combination of masculinity and femininity, a third ***, or a woman's soul born in the body of a man, refer to various problems in relation to post-colonial condition. Traditionally, variations in gender identity have been considered to be holy in many Indonesian cultures, but today warias have been relegated to an outlaw zone on the outskirts of society. The consequences of the stigmatisation based on the rigidity of social constructions (morals, religions, hetero-normativity, etc.) include non-recognition of their gender identity, discrimination, limited work opportunities, *** industry, HIV/AIDS. • 7 Ежегодная большая пресс-конференция Part 26 В.Путин (Putin) 7 Annual Big Press Conference Part 26 February 14,2008 President of Russia V.Putin The Kremlin,Moscow BBC NEWS: Two questions if I may, Vladimir Vladimirovich. First, following up on the topic of Kosovo: if Kosovo proclaims independence and a number of countries in Europe and the United States recognize its independence, do you think that Russia should take any similar action in the territory of the former Soviet Union and recognize any disputed territories such as Abkhazia, South Ossetia or Transdniestria? And the second question. Two or three weeks ago on Vladimir Pozner's programme Vremena, a number of high-ranking representatives of the Russian leadership (Kudrin, Chubais) commented on Russian foreign policy in not very flattering tones, saying that it was acting as a brake or, at the very least, having a negative impact on the development of the economy. Such disagreement is quite rare for modern Russian leadership. How would you comment these statements? Thank you. VLADIMIR PUTIN: I have not heard these statements, I would have to look at them in writing. Our foreign policy has no detrimental effect on the development of the Russian economy. I already gave the figures: the inflow of private capital into Russia in the past year amounted to 80-odd billion dollars. Is this a reflection of the fact that investors are being deterred or bad policy? On the contrary. Many international experts, I have already said this too, believe that the Russian economy is a quiet haven ...

  • Ambassador Polt on 70th Anniversary of Welles Declaration (Courtesy of ETV) 70 Years of Unbroken US Insistence on Estonian Independence July 22, 2010 On July 23, 1940 Acting Secretary of State Sumner Welles declared that the United States would not recognize the incorporation of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania into the Soviet Union. This steadfast commitment of the United States and more than 50 other countries to the non-recognition of the forcible annexation of these three countries stood for 51 years and served as a tangible display of support to the people, culture and institutions of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Throughout this period, successive US Administrations reaffirmed our unequivocal position based on the principle that "the people of the United States are opposed to predatory activities no matter whether they are carried on by the use of force or by the threat of force." On September 2, 1991, the United States formally recognized a newly re-independent Estonia and opened a bright and productive chapter in our bilateral relations that continues to this day. We applaud Estonia's forward-leaning outlook and continued contributions as valued NATO allies and strong partners in Europe and internationally. • Confederate Defeat = Need of Balance Reform After the battle of Catharpin, Neal finds his brigade commander Beauregard (commanded by Baldwin) and many of his men, mortally wounded on the field. Beauregard requests that justice be brought to his men for his ordered suicidal charge into Snell's batteries. Assuming his men invincible, Neal is confused by how the attack had failed (surely in a balanced world, the rebs would naturally win such a charge). He decides suddenly that this loss was due to no fault of his field tactics, but that fault lay upon his nonrecognition of major flaws in campaign balance. To amend this disaster he calls for a retirement of the current campaign to resume a new one another day. Members in the confederate ranks join in on the cry for campaign reform to escape the early defeats that have plagued them thus far.

A trio of dancers address the underlying competition, evaluation, and support at the core of artistic production and distribution. In this excerpt, the competition begins with a solo "event" marked by a continued close proximity to the audience and the dancer's striving for perfection within a strict form of choreographic rules unbeknowst to the viewers. As the dance continues, overlapping solo "events" performed by different dancers compete for the audience's attention.

  • 27th All-Macedonian traditional meeting On the 26th of July, the traditional gathering of ethnic Macedonians from the Aegean part of Macedonia took place. This was an all-Macedonian meeting of the ethnic Macedonians of the Republic of Macedonia, ethnic Macedonians from Greece, several European countries, the United States, Australia, Canada as well as representatives of several Macedonian organizations from other Balkan countries including "RAINBOW" (Vinozhito - Greece), "OMO Ililnden" (Bulgaria), "Macedonian Alliance for European Integration" (Albania). The event took place in the area of Trnovo, near Bitola close to the Greek - Macedonian border. It was organized by the Association of Macedonians from the Aegean part of Macedonia, with its headquarters in Bitola. The promoters of this event reminded the attendees that the basic rights and freedoms of the Macedonians are usurped in Greece. The Republic of Greece, even though it is a signatory to the Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, continues to discriminate against the Macedonians in that country, and does not enact the Convention into practice. This is the single issue of concern for the organizing association, sending a message to the Macedonians in Greece, Bulgaria and Albania and asking them to respect all the laws of those countries and to be their loyal citizens, assessing that Europe must push these states into respecting the rights and freedoms of the Macedonian minorities that live there. A Resolution due to be sent to the ...

  • Jesse Ventura On The Two Party Dictatorship Source (Video Dub From Part 3) Willie Nelson & Jesse Ventura: The Lost Interviews Ventura begins by discussing the insanity behind airport security, before Willie and Alex discuss the death of JFK, and the deathbed confession of CIA section chief E. Howard Hunt, who admitted to playing a role in the assassination. The trio then talk about how the media brainwashes the public to make men and women lose confidence in themselves by discriminating against their appearance. Ventura and Alex delve into how the establishment contrives and manufactures smears to try and discredit people politically, with Jesse relating the tale of how he was accused of jumping up on a table in a strip club. Moving on to 9/11, Ventura talks about the deliberate confiscation of evidence at the World Trade Center site, as well as the hero first responders and firefighters who are now dead or dying as a result of the government's cover-up in claiming that the toxic air was safe to breathe. Ventura highlights how emergency workers found three of the four black boxes from the hijacked planes but were then blown away when the 9/11 Commission announced that no boxes whatsoever were found. Will the American people ever wake up? We'll wake the mother****ers up, proclaims Willie, but Jesse thinks they'll just go back to sleep again. Ventura points out that his generation, from the Vietnam era, are supposed to be in charge today, but have gone back on every single principle they once embraced. The start of ...

  • The Holocaust Deniers (1/2) *The past two years have seen an increase in anti-semitic attacks around the world, from Venezuela to France, Moldova to Belgium. They peaked during Israel's war with Gaza. A global poll in 2008 showed half of all Spaniards rating Jews unfavourably, more than one-third of Russian and Poles doing the same. Is this a resurgence of the old right-wing semitism, or something new, connected to hostility to Israel? And how is the phenomenon of Holocaust denial gaining ground in the Middle East? In this episode, Wendy Robbins visits the Swedish city of Malmo where Jews are the victims of 30% of hate crimes, and Jewish families -- fearful for their children - are leaving. She tackles such issues as the difference between a critical voice raised against Israel's policies and making Israel a scapegoat for global problems -- and the splits within the Jewish community concerning where the line is to be drawn between criticism of Israel and anti-semitism.* .................................................................................................................... The Yoga Vashisht is an awareness appreciation course. Omnipotence. Usually this is associated with the physical power of the thunder god. True omnipotence is effortless. • Evidence of the fake dispute on the name Macedonia with subtitles These maps from Greek schoolbooks prove that Greece had no objections to Macedonian name before 1991 when Macedonia existed within the Yugoslav federation. In fact, Greece did not use the name Macedonia within its borders until 1988. This is the evidence that Greece does care about the name Macedonia. This name dispute was created artificially so they can find a way to distant us from the real issues such as, the non recognition and denying minority human rights to the ethnic Macedonians in Greece. The fact that Greece has annexed half of Macedonia illegally (1913) exiled and assimilated Macedonians. These are the real issue not the name. The name provides Greece something to argue so it can continue to deny the existence and non recognition of ethnic Macedonians in Greece. This is why Greece is trying to steal the ancient Macedonian history by passing books full of historical errors and distortions.

  • Madame Sarkozy Carla Bruni-L´Amoureuse-October -2008 Madame Sarkozy I think its a difficult way forward. I mean, theres a situation now where the next big event is for October 15 the European Union has organized a meeting in Geneva to talk about it. But I think there are going to be some tough questions. One of the questions is how and if so are South Ossetia and Abkhazia represented. The Russians are saying South Ossetia and Abkhazia should be represented as independent states. That conflicts completely with the American policy and the European Union policy and the policy of every other country in the world, except for Russia and Nicaragua, of non-recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. So they are going to have to work that question out. But I think there are also some other issues, I mean, the question of the implementation of the six-point plan that was agreed by [French President Nicolas] Sarkozy. And it seems to me that there are two tough points on that. One of those points called for not only the Georgian forces but for Russian forces to withdraw to their positions prior to August 7. Well, the Russians have already announced their intention to deploy an additional 3500 troops in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. So, that doesnt square to my mind with the implementation of the Sarkozy plan. The other point was the sixth point of the Sarkozy plan talked about the commitment of the sides to an international mechanism to resolve the issues of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. But a month ago Russia went ahead ...
  • Sinhala-Tamil language issue-Revealed! During our research on the accusation recently made by Liberal MP Mr. Bob Rae on the Sri Lankan issue of non recognition of Tamil language in Sri Lanka, we came across this rare footage of an interview of then Prime Minister of Ceylon, Mr. SWRD Banadaranaike. Comparing the two, it's obvious out how far the truth has been manipulated, distorted by the pro LTTE propaganda machine, that has reached the public and the "greedy' politicians!
  • Circumcision Trauma David Chamberlain Ph.D. of the Association for Pre and Perinatal Psychology and Health and James W. Prescott, Ph.D. discusses the trauma associated with genital mutilation of infants. "The greatest crime against humanity is the torture and mutilation of children. Child abuse and neglect, particularly in its extreme forms, represents a form of torture and mutilation. Not commonly recognized as child abuse and neglect and a form of torture and mutilation is the ritual mutilation of genitals of children (male and female). One reason for the non-recognition of these crimes of genital mutilation and torture is their common occurrence and their support by religious and social traditions of various kinds. Another reason is the denial and/or indifference to the pain that is being inflicted upon these children." • The Void - How to draw Donor glyph ('alpha') It seems that the demonstration video of this glyph may mislead you. Even though technically the symbol drawn is one of the possible variants, you might receive a non-recognition message as well after having drawn it this way. The very basic shape is merely a horisontal loop, and you don't need anything else. And be sure to draw it always large enough. Game recognizes small strokes as an attempt to paint something with colour, not as a symbol.
Effect of herd of Romanian society, perhaps from other societys, I think everyone knows what i am saying.. The idea of this concept of time dancing, which is a sequence in the play-in "Dancing as a way of social integration" that was played in the neighborhood of the Atheneum Tatarasi, Iasi, we are explaining like this:THE LINE (represented by a line of light in a vast darkness) is "the herd" (most of society in general) and the effects created by "the herd" is CHAOS (chaotic movements, irregular) in a mechanical, ROBOTIC manner (robot movements) that give a feeling of shared rhythm down, SLOW-MOTION, like the ...
  • Authors@Google: Hugh Raffles A stunningly original exploration of the ties that bind us to the beautiful, ancient, astoundingly accomplished, largely unknown, and unfathomably different species with whom we share the world. For as long as humans have existed, insects have existed, too. Wherever weve traveled, theyve traveled, too. Yet we hardly know them, not even the ones were closest to: those that eat our food, share our beds, and live in our homes. Organizing his book alphabetically with one entry for each letter, weaving together brief vignettes, meditations, and extended essays, Hugh Raffles embarks on a mesmerizing exploration of history and science, anthropology and travel, economics, philosophy, and popular culture to show us how insects have triggered our obsessions, stirred our passions, and beguiled our imaginations. Raffles offers us a glimpse into the high-stakes world of Chinese cricket fighting, the deceptive courtship rites of the dance fly, the intriguing possibilities of queer insect ***, the vital and vicious role locusts play in the famines of west Africa, how beetles deformed by Chernobyl inspired art, and how our desire and disgust for insects has prompted our own aberrant behavior. Deftly fusing the literary and the scientific, Hugh Raffles has given us an essential book of reference that is also a fascination of the highest order. HUGH RAFFLES teaches anthropology at The New School. He is the author of In Amazonia: A Natural History, which received the Victor Turner Prize in ...
  • HD Mikheil Saakashvili President Georgia Addresses UN 09232008 Part 2 of 3 MIKHEIL SAAKASHVILI, President of Georgia, said that sometimes the most extreme tests of the United Nations lofty ideals arose in small, even obscure places, such as his own country, which, with fewer than 5 million people, had last month been invaded by its neighbour. He urged the Assembly to refuse to stand silent in the face of armed aggression and assault on human rights, and instead stand united and immediately adopt a non-recognition policy towards Georgias two breakaway provinces. The Assembly -- and Georgia -- had both a moral and legal obligation to protect international ...
