  • Project Mobility - Adaptive Cycling for People with Disabilities - Hal Honeyman Hal Honeyman, founder of Project Mobility: Cycles for Life, Inc. has been involved with bicycles as a sport, business, and recreation for nearly thirty years. Hal's interest in "adaptive cycling" - bicycles for people with disabilities - was spurred when his own son Jacob was born with Cerebral Palsy. Hal wanted to find a way for Jacob to join the family when bicycle riding. After Jacob's needs were met, Hal found specialized bikes for other disabled children and began creating specialized bikes when other bikes were not available or did not exist for that particular disability. This has led to the recent formation of Project Mobility: Cycles for Life. Bikes for those who are disabled goes beyond mere transportation, or even health building recreation for those whose health is often fragile. These specialized bikes create a sense of freedom for those who are disabled. Bikes restore a sense of possibility and ability to those whom are often told by society that their life is about limitations and disability.

  • Mobility vs Firepower by Nutnfancy, Part 1 PART 1 of 4: When it comes to your gear choices, whether were talking guns, knives, load bearing equipment, or backpacking gear, a wise user should have well-reasoned choices based on weight, size, ease of carry, capabilities needed, durability, and price for performance given. In this four part video series, Nutnfancy distills this decision making process into what is called MOBILITY VS FIREPOWER. Using the historical example of WW II tanks, both Allied and German, a case is made for both sides of the argument. The Tiger 1 tank could be considered a poster child for the FIREPOWER argument: heavily armed with its 88mm gun and thickly armored and in the hands of a competent tank commander, the Tiger 1 could and sometimes did rule the battlefield. However, like many firepower-weighted choices, it had some big disadvantages: unreliable at times, complex to fix and maintain, expensive to make, hampered by a very short range (37 miles!), slow speed, difficult to recover, and laborious to transport to the battlefield. Other German designs were equally as impressive and some, like the incredible StuG III assault gun (tank), actually mastered the MOBILITY concept quite well. However all this German expertise and propensity for superior tanks (usually FIREPOWER weighted) failed to make a decisive difference in the outcome of the war. Actually it was the humble American Sherman tank that came home with the gold. Except for perhaps the Sherman Firefly (a later version with 17 pdr ...

  • WORLDS FASTEST MOBILITY SCOOTER This is THE WORLDS FASTEST MOBILITY SCOOTER clocking a national speed breaking 71.59mph at santa pod on 14th october 2010. Guinness world records set a benchmark speed of 61.4mph or 100kph to the metric boys and also that the appearance of the machine must not be changed so no big wheels and other stuff which would make this thing safer and easier to ride. The engine was from a 1997 CR125 motocross bike which i squeezed in the little room available. The radiator is under my feet and the gears are changed by the rods you can see sticking through floor. • U3-X Personal Mobility Prototype With U3-X Honda rethinks the concept of personal mobility, providing the rider with freedom of movement in any direction forward, backward, sideways and diagonally by simply leaning slightly in the desired direction. The lightweight and compact one-wheeled device also features a foldable seat and retractable footrests. A lithium-ion battery pack provides power for up to one-hour of use and can be recharged by plugging in to a conventional household or office 120-volt power outlet. Weighing roughly 22 pounds, U3-X uses an advanced Honda proprietary balance-control system which derives from its research into human walking dynamics for the development of the ASIMO bi-pedal humanoid robot. To realize full freedom of movement in all directions, the U3-X also employs the worlds first omni-directional driving wheel system (Honda Omni Traction Drive System) which utilizes a series of concentrically mounted wheels a larger, forward and backward moving inner wheel and a series of smaller sideways moving outer wheels. Diagonal motion is achieved when both forward and sideways moving wheels operate in tandem. In addition, the compact size and one-wheel-drive design of U3-X was intended to provide user-friendly and pedestrian-friendly operation with low-mounted foot pedals that make it easy for the rider to reach the ground, and a seat height that places the rider at approximately the same eye-level as other people.

  • Shoulder Mobility Exercises CLICK HERE for a FREE WORKOUT!! If you are an office worker stuck sitting at a desk all day, then chances are you have poor shoulder mobility and possibly even a pain in the neck. Not only can this bother you at work, but common exercises can make these problems worse. You could end up with rotator cuff problems or worse. Fortunately, just a few minutes of shoulder mobility exercises per day can help you get rid of this pain. Here are a couple of exercises that will improve your shoulder mobility. If you are like me in that you sit in front of a computer for a long period of time each day, then you probably have a lot of stress and tension in your upper back, leading to reduced mobility in your shoulder, causing pain and suffering. So I'm going to reveal 4 exercises that will help you increase your mobility in the shoulder region as well as improve your posture. The first exercise is a very common one in my Turbulence Training programs, but also one that causes a lot of confusion on how to perform the exercise correctly, the Stick-Up. To start, stand about six inches away from the wall, with your hips, shoulder blades, elbows, and hands all pressed against the wall. Tuck your elbows down into your sides and press your shoulder blades together. Next, you are going to stick your hands up over your head as high as you can while keeping everything against the wall at all times. Then return to start position. This is a very difficult exercise if you ...
