When I conceptualized it based on traditional smokers in the South I was intending on keeping it inconspicuous. Once I started to count brick I said "what the heck" I'd hate to cut two different lengths of cordwood so I enlarged it to what you see. The contractor on the job is Bonifate Masonry. On this particular job, the contractor used two pumps working in tandem to deliver mortar to the elevation and distance needed. One pump on the ground is filled with mortar batched on site. This material is pumped to a second floor into a second pump. This pump delivers the mortar over the majority of the distance to the top floor and several feet across to fill cells in the cmu (concrete masonry units) aka blocks!
