Paper marbling is a graphic process. It is derived from the word ebre which belongs to one of the older Central Asian languages and it means the "moiré, veined fabric, paper etc..." used for covering some m***cripts and other holy books. • Water Marbling with Dotted Accents Apply a marbled effect to your nails with this easy tutorial using your regular nail polish and water! I used a wooden skewer to swirl the polish, but anything with a pointed end would work. I recently acquired dotting tools which I applied the dots with but again you can use anything you have around the house such as a toothpick, the end of a paintbrush, a pencil point or end of dried-up pen, etc. The polishes I used were: base coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Cure white: Sally Hansen Insta-dri in Whirlwind White teal: Nicole by Opi in Respect the World pink: OPI Strawberry Margarita purple: Sally Hansen Insta-dry in Grape Going! silver sparkles: Art Deco in Ice Breaker top coat: OPI Top Coat Don't get too frustrated if your marbling doesn't work out perfectly the first time, it takes a little practice. I find just practicing on paper (dipping the end of a long rectangular piece) helps me to see what patterns I can make and which polishes work best. Some dry more quickly than others and some stay thicker than others so it's best to do a little patch test with paper first. • Pink and White Water Marbling Hi guys, it's Friday so here's another design that i thought it was really cool to share it with you. Here are some tips for those of you who would like to try it out: 1) Timing is critical with marbling so being fully prepared is a must. 2)The nail polish should be of good quality and of a liquid even consistency. Poorer quality polish will not result in the desired effect. 3) water should be at room temperature 4) it is best to be in a well ventilated area when working with nail polish, a windy environment will cause the nail polish to dry too quickly 5) when dragging to create the marble effect, make sure to not start from the far edges because those dry faster than the ones towards the middle. 6) Make sure you change the water after one use because the chemicals from the lotion will prevent the polishes from expanding. (if you are lazy like myself, I would make a big circle and dip 4 or possibly 5 of my fingers in after i create the desired marble effect because i don't want to change the water 10x lols) Experiment and have fun! :]
