Wish you never never, wish you never been born I may never learn, never know I may live and learn but never know I may crash and burn, oh no I may take my turn If you love her, then tell her you love her and You could be kissing her soon If you need her, oh, tell her you need her and You won't be missing her soon Oh, but for a love to be true It must come from her too It's a lesson hard learned If you play with fire you will get burnt Hell hath no fury ... (?) Oh, I may never learn, you never know I may live and learn, never know I may crash and burn, oh no I may take my turn If you love her, then tell her you love her and You could be kissing her soon If you need her, oh, tell her you need her and You won't be missing her soon
  • Mantis VS Katydid One of my praying mantids (European mantis, Mantis religiosa) catching and eating a Katydid that I caught outside. The katydid was aware it was being stalked so it took a few attempts for the mantis to finally get a solid grab on it. Every summer I usually go around the local park and find an ootheca on a twig to bring home and hatch. I wait for them all to molt once after feeding them some fruit flies then release most and raise like 20 of them. They're so vicious, I love it.
  • Katydid Cloth Diaper: First Impression I REALLY like this diaper! The quality is awesome and its very similar to Fuzzi Bunz, however, the claim that its a one size diaper isn't entirely true. It claims to fit babies from 8-35 pounds....my daughter is only 28 pounds and was on the biggest setting and the leg gussets were WAY too tight and could not be adjusted. My daughter is also not a chunky baby at all....she is on the smaller end for a child her age, so I know it wouldn't fit a chunky thighed baby. HOWEVER, I think this diaper would be awesome for babies from newborn to around 18 months!! I was also very impressed with the high quality of the diaper!
  • Katydid Nature Walks with Mark Fraser Katydids are true masters of the art of camouflage. As they graze in grasses and wild meadows on plant matter they do so trusting that their incredible ability to blend in with their surroundings will protect them. Looking closely at this beautiful species with a magnifying glass or zoom lens simply demonstrates the mastery of their art. Their wings have every detail that you would find on a true leave. Species like the "Broad-winged" Bush Katydid (discussed on this film) are famous for their ability to appear to be counting as their call adds another chirp with each new chorus, Other species like the very similar "Northern" Bush Katydid (seen on this film) have incredible calls reminding us of summer! I'm Mark Fraser and thank you so much for taking the time to explore the amazing natural world! If you would like to read up and view more adventures join me at

This species eats anything from plant matter to other insects and even small reptiles! Thanks for watching!
  • Angle-wing Katydid (Microcentrum retinerve) Angle-wing Katydid (Microcentrum) * Kingdom: Metazoa ((=Animalia) multicellular animals) * Phylum: Arthropoda (arthropods) * Class: Insecta (true insects) * Order: Orthoptera (grasshoppers, crickets, katydids, etc.) * Family: Tettigoniidae (long-horned grasshoppers, katydids, bushcrickets) * Genus: Microcentrum * Species: Microcentrum retinerve * Common Names: Lesser Angle-wing Katydid, Angular-winged Katydid The family Tettigoniidae, known in American English as katydids and in British English as bush-crickets, contains more than 6400 species. It is part of the suborder Ensifera and the only family in the superfamily Tettigonoidea. They are also known as long-horned grasshoppers, although they are more closely related to crickets than to grasshoppers. Tettigoniids may be distinguished from grasshoppers by the length of their antennae, which may exceed their own body length, while grasshoppers' antennae are always relatively short. The name "katydid" comes from the sound produced by species of the North American genus Pterophylla (literally "winged leaf"). The males of katydids have sound-producing organs (via stridulation) located on the hind angles of their front wings, which in some species produce a sound thought to resemble the words "Katy did, Katy didn't", hence the name. In some species females are also capable of stridulation. There are about 255 species in North America, but the majority of species live in the tropical regions of the world. The diet of ...

  • Katydids mdc.mo.gov As spring warms to summer... nature makes new sounds. One of the loudest and most familiar calls belongs to the katydids. Katydids are a type of grasshopper. These insects make their distinct "katy-did-katy-didn't" song by rubbing their wings together. Both male and female katydids sing to attract mates. Their green bodies have long slender legs, large, veined wings and antennae which are twice as long as most grasshoppers. Because of their antennae, they are called "long-horned" grasshoppers.

  • Katy Did - Jimmy White - HD.mov - Jimmy White wrote this song after a business meeting a few years ago. "I was a kid, working for the government as a bank regulator. Many of the banks we worked at would take us to lunch occasionally, just as a goodwill type of thing. Each institution had its own personality, not the homogenized type of banking there is today, and this bank had a bunch of younger guys who thought they were hot stuff, if you know what I mean. Anyway, they take us to lunch to a "go go" bar, which in Jersey is essentially girls walking around in bathing suits, nothing too risque. We come in and they start talking to one of the girls, whom they obviously know, and it seems like they're good friends. Well, as soon as she walked away to put in our order, these guys begin putting her down, laughing at her, calling her ugly names. I was astounded at this, how two faced they were, and how they obviously thought they were so much better than her. I thought "what if one of them fell in love with this girl, how would they reconcile that with their attitude toward her?" This video is used with full permission for the Artist and Label.
  • Japan Bush-Cricket - Hataoribata Katydid - softypapa These fascinating insects go by a variety of common names including Katydid in North America, Bush-Cricket in the United Kingdom and Hataoribata in Japan. Though they resemble grasshoppers Katydid are more closely related to crickets. Katydid are easily distinguished from grasshoppers by the Katydid's very long and slender antenna compared to the grasshopper's short and stubby antenna. Though many Katydid are herbivores some species prey on other small animals including insects, snails and even small reptiles. Katydid are of the insect family Tettigoniidae. ---- The Path of Wildness is easy to find The course of a stream Leaves blown in the wind A beast's track through the brush And the direction of our first inclination The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the ...
