With the talented writing of Chris Doheny, Melbourne's Geisha released many great songs over a 3 year period but never got the real success and recognition they deserved. This was their 3rd single, released in November 1985. This clip was never shown on Countdown but they did perform it live on November 23 1985 and reached No.16 in Melbourne, No.42 nationally and apparently No.1 on the Melbourne Dance charts although I don't have a complete set of charts to prove this. Kabuki did reach No.1 on the Top 8 at 8 charts which was a listener phone in chart compiled weeknightly on EON FM and hosted by John Peters from memory.

Additional Japanese writing is found on the tines of the fan which includes a woman's name "Kojima Fusa". • Kabuki Theatre UNESCO: Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - 2008 URL: Description: Kabuki is a Japanese traditional theatre form, which originated in the Edo period at the beginning of the seven***th century and was particularly popular among townspeople. Originally, both men and women acted in Kabuki plays, but eventually only male actors performed the plays: a tradition that has remained to the present day. Male actors specialized in womens roles are called onnagata. Two other major role types are aragoto (rough style) and wagoto (soft style). Kabuki plays are about historical events and moral conflict in relationships of the heart. The actors speak in a monotone voice and are accompanied by traditional instruments. The Kabuki stage is equipped with several gadgets, such as revolving stages and trapdoors through which the actors can appear and disappear. Another speciality of the Kabuki stage is a footbridge (hanamichi) that extends into the audience. Important characteristics of Kabuki theatre include its particular music, costumes, stage devices and props as well as specific plays, language and acting styles, such as the mie, in which the actor holds a characteristic pose to establish his character. Keshÿ, the particular make-up, provides an element of style easily recognizable even by those unfamiliar with the art form. After 1868, when Japan opened to Western influence, actors strove to heighten the reputation of Kabuki among the ...

Products used: Revlon Colourstay Foundation - 150 (Buff) Johnson's Baby Powder White Eyeliner MAC Eyeshadow - Gesso 120 Palette Matte Eyeshadow - Red MAC Eyeshadow - Carbon ELF Mineral Eyeliner - Black L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara Virgin Vie Lip Liner - Red How to create the hairstyle in this video: 1. Section of the front section of your hair going back from the end of your eyebrows. 2. Tie this in a bobble untill we have the other sections sorted out. 3. Gather two sections of hair from infront of your ears around 2 inches wide and keep this to one side too. 4. With the rest of the hair (the back section) tie it up in a bun. 5. Backcomb the front middle section and gently smooth over the top so if doesnt look frizzy! Clip this section back into a 'poof'. 6. Clip two red ribbons just above your ears (where the two smaller sections are) and plait them in to these bits infront of your ears. Once they are plaited, clip the ends of the up to create a loop shape. Hope this helps! :) Follow me on Twitter: Follow my Blog: Become a fan on Facebook: Dont forget to SUBSCRIBE! Sara x
