Thanks! :) I've been battling a very bad bout of insomnia lately, and when I was in a bit of a panic about it the other night, my dear twitter friend @Scrapacat suggested I get it out in my art journal. After a nice mug of warm almond milk and honey (so good for getting to sleep!) I sat down with my journal, found an available spread in colors that matched my mood, and went to work. This is the result. Quick materials list: Staz-On ink pads, rubber, craft foam, and acrylic stamps, deco tape, blue Foohy brand gel marker, black DecoColor paint marker, yellow Sharpie water-based poster paint pen. (Background was pre-painted with wall paint samples - got em cheap at a local discount store!) Sorry about the camera and the journal getting shifted, that was partly my cat. Bad kitty! :)

Visual Journaling Tutorial Part 2 Come with Violette on a Visual Journaling adventure! This is part two of the Journaling series. Get out your supplies, have fun, chill, don't be too serious! Here are some supplies that i have used: Cardstock, micron pens, eraser, glitter glue, mod podge, graphite pencil, twinkling H2O's, newspaper, receipts, tags, candy wrapper, folkart paint, stamp pad (in the color of your choice). By the way, the Vegetable soup turned out great. Here are some of the ingredients: broccoli, cauliflour, carrots, onions, garlic, black beans, baby carrots, knor's veggie soup mix, lemon juice, corriander, cumin, bay leaf. Yummy!

Art Journaling Materials I wanted to share some essential and favorite art materials that I like to use. Once I think of some more stuff, I'll post the link to wherever the info will be. And never be afraid to ask questions! There are never any stupid questions! :D Materials I mentioned PLUS MORE! :D gesso (liquitex, golden, bob ross) adhesives: gel medium (i use soft gel matte) (liquitex, winser & newton, golden) modge podge glue sticks double sided tape sticky dots For using liquid glue (gel medium or modge podge) you can use palette knives! Or brushes will do, but you have to clean them really well after you're done with them! or you'll regret it! A note from comfortableshoesstud: Metal palette knives are handy too, and will last longer and clean up easy with some soaking. Sand them to the shape you want, and flexible too. Journaled Soft-Updates, Dr. Kirk McKusick, BSDCan 2010 Adding "journaling lite'' to soft updates and its incorporation into the FreeBSD fast filesystem Because soft updates prevent most inconsistencies, the journaling need only deal with tracking those inconsistencies that soft updates fails to address. Specifically, the journal contains the information needed to recover the block and inode resources that have been freed but whose freed status failed to make it to disk before a system failure. After a crash, a variant of the venerable fsck program runs through the journal to identify and free the lost resources. Only if a corruption of the log is detected is it necessary to run background fsck. The journal is tiny, 16Mb is usually enough independent of filesystem size. Although journal processing needs to be done before restarting, the processing time is typically just a few seconds and in the worst case a minute. It is not necessary to build a new filesystem to use soft-updates journalling. The addition or deletion of soft-updates journaling to existing FreeBSD fast filesystems is done using the tunefs program. www.bsdcan.org
