  • Ohio Veterans Home Horticulture Therapy This video is meant to raise awareness to the benefits of horticulture therapy being provided by the functional use of the Ohio Veterans Home Greenhouse in Sandusky. The greenhouse is a donation to the veterans home, but may be in danger of closing due to one assesment made by a private consultant that estimated a cost of $18000 a year to heat the greenhouse. Tom Ostkar is looking for support to keep the greenhouse open throughout the winters. He's stated that the greenhouse is heated by water, which must loop around the building and be recirculated back into the facilities. Tom, therefore, believes the estimate to be untrue and thinks a reasonable agreement could secure the longevity of this ADA accessible past-time while continuing the therapeutic progress it allows for OVH residents.
