It will be avaliable for download on 3rd May on the website of the band: Note that the version of this song isn't the studio version that will feature on the new albúm. Its a "beta" version, that Pecknold used to play in the shows. The lyrics have been changed. Lyrics: I was raised up believin' I was somehow unique like a snowflake, distinct among snowflakes unique in each way you can see. And now after some thinkin' I'd say I'd rather be a functioning cog in some great machinery servin' some thing beyond me But I don't, I don't know what that will be. I'll get back to you someday, soon you will see. What's my name, what's my station Oh, just tell me what I should do I don't need to be kind to the armies of night that would do such injustice to you. Or bow down, and be grateful and say "sure, take all that you see" to the men who move only in depleted halls and determine my future for me. And I don't, I don't know who to believe I'll get back to you someday, soon you will see. • HELPLESS, TEARS: Dealer says load of crab "contaminated with oil" -- STATE TRYING TO COVER IT UP *Tears and a feeling of helplessness* When looking at a load of newly delivered crab, the smell "knocked us down," St. Bernard Parish seafood dealer Kevin Heier told Fox 8 New Orleans. "Heier believes the crabs were contaminated with oil," according to Fox 8. Heier was "in total shock" and had never seen anything like this before. Neither had his colleague who's been in the crab business for 60 years. They contacted the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, reported Fox 8 and Heier said, "We got a biologist that was supposed to come here. About an hour passed and he never showed up, so we called the biologist and he said my superior stopped me from coming." Fox 8 added that Heier said that after more than 24 hours "the catch can not be tested because all of the crabs have since died." "They died already," said another dealer. Heier told Fox 8, "It's like we can't get help from nobody." "Wildlife and Fisheries" said it will test the crabs if new samples are collected tomorrow. "St. Bernard fishermen, though, are convinced the crabs are full of oil and they believe the test results will prove their case," the report concludes. • Album Review 332: Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues Fleet Foxes has taken all the hardship of the years since their debut release and packed it into an extremely impressive sophomore effort. As the title implies, Helplessness Blues is a moving album filled with themes of heartbreak, existentialism, and loss, all with music to match the mood. It may take some time to truly get sucked into this album, but if you tend to enjoy folk music and give this album a chance, it will be an experience you won't be able to stop coming back to. Verdict: Recommended if you like folk music with a lot of emotion. You will probably need to have quite a bit of patience and an appreciation for slow builds in order to get into this one. 92/100 Jake's Track Picks: 2. Bedouin Dress 4. Battery Kinzie 5. • THE VISITOR - I Just Want My Life Walter (Richard Jenkins) visits Tarek (Haaz Sleiman) in the detention center. The Visitor In a world of six billion people, it only takes one to change your life. In actor and filmmaker Tom McCarthy's follow-up to his award winning directorial debut The Station Agent, Richard Jenkins (Six Feet Under) stars as a disillusioned Connecticut economics professor whose life is transformed by a chance encounter in New York City. Sixty-two-year-old Walter Vale (Jenkins) is sleepwalking through his life. Having lost his passion for teaching and writing, he fills the void by unsuccessfully trying to learn to play classical piano. When his college sends him to Manhattan to attend a conference, Walter is surprised to find a young couple has taken up residence in his apartment. Victims of a real estate scam, Tarek (Haaz Sleiman), a Syrian man, and Zainab (Danai Gurira), his Senegalese girlfriend, have nowhere else to go. In the first of a series of tests of the heart, Walter reluctantly allows the couple to stay with him. Touched by his kindness, Tarek, a talented musician, insists on teaching the aging academic to play the African drum. The instrument's exuberant rhythms revitalize Walter's faltering spirit and open his eyes to a vibrant world of local jazz clubs and Central Park drum circles. As the friendship between the two men deepens, the differences in culture, age and temperament fall away. After being stopped by police in the subway, Tarek is arrested as an undocumented ...

  • Fleet Foxes- Helplessness Blues ALBUM REVIEW Listen: Two More perspectives on this album: 1. Woods of Desolation track: 2. ***ed Up track: On Helplessness Blues, Fleet Foxes improve just about everything that they were doing on their last album. Keep in mind the key word here is "improve," not change. Yes, the band is still walking down the same path they were on their previous LP, but they're much further down the road, and they've got a different story to tell. The songs on this album are extremely romantic, and not just in the sense that two lovers are romantic with one another. This album is unbelievably in love with everything around it. It finds great beauty in the world at large, and it's led to captivating melodies and poetic lyrics that tip a hat to songwriting greats like Paul Simon. The instrumentation could come off kind of busy and overbearing for a first-time listener, but the water's feels fine after the initial shock. This thing is beautifully produced from my point of view. More detail gets pulled out of of this thing with each listen--lyrically and sonically. This is one that I'll be visiting again and again throughout the year. What do you think of this LP? Love it? Hate it? Why? 9/10 http FAV TRACKS: MONTEZUMA, BATTERY KINZIE, THE PLAINS / BITTER DANCER, HELPLESSNESS BLUES, LORELAI, THE SHRINE / THE ARGUMENT, BLUE SPOTTED TAIL, GROWN OCEAN
