Compassion Over Killing's 'Cal-Cruz Hatcheries' footage goes public. Video file air date: Jun 03, 2010. SANTA CRUZ,California. A vegan activist group says a Santa Cruz hatchery is breaking the law and they say that they have the video to prove it. The group called Compassion Over Killing says that they sent in an undercover camera to get the video and it shows graphic images of baby birds being tossed aside by workers. Cal-Cruz Hatcheries has been in the Live Oak neighborhood for nearly 60 years and in all that time they have only had one complaint of animal cruelty and that was in February of 2009. The activist group says that the follow up investigation by the Santa Cruz Animal Services, which is located across the street from the hatchery, cooberated their evidence. Animal Services would not comment on the undercover video but they did say that they did seize some of the the birds from the hatchery because they were left in incubators too long. The video showed decapitated and mangled hatchlings caught in machinery, sick and gravely injured ducklings left to suffer for hours, one duckling drowning in a bucket of liquid waste, unwanted hatchlings treated like trash, and baby birds being tossed into buckets up to six feet across a room. According to Compassion Over Killing, the Santa Cruz District Attorney's office held the case for several months before declining to prosecute the hatchery for violations of state animal protection laws. Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery's Family Fishing Day For more fishing videos, please visit: The Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery in Abbotsford hosted its annual family fishing day on Saturday June 14th, 2008. Trout fishing was available from 8am to noon. There were two permanent fishing ponds that were stocked with over 1000 rainbow trout for anglers of all ages to catch. A smaller inflatable pool was also reserved for kids under the age of seven to guarantee success. The Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery is one of five hatcheries that are operated by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC. The society is responsible for producing 10 million trout and char per year that are released into thousands of lakes across British Columbia, Canada. The hatchery also serves as a visitor centre, where the general public can learn more about fishing and trout biology. This is the disturbing reality faced by hundreds of thousands of chicks each day at the world's largest egg-laying breed hatchery Hy-Line International in Spencer, Iowa. New hidden camera footage obtained at this facility during a undercover investigation gives a disturbing glimpse into the cruel and industrialized reality of modern hatcheries. The warm, comforting, and protective wings of these newly hatched chicks' mothers have been replaced with massive machines, quickly moving conveyor belts, harsh handling, and distressing noise. These young animals are sorted, discarded, and handled like mere cogs in a machine. For the nearly 150000 male chicks who hatch every 24 hours at this Hy-Line facility, their lives begin and end the same day. Grabbed by their fragile wings by workers known as "***ers," who separate males from females, these young animals are callously thrown into chutes and hauled away to their deaths. They are destined to die on day one because they cannot produce eggs and do not grow large or fast enough to be raised profitably for meat. Their lives are cut short when they are dropped into a grinding machine tossed around by a spinning auger before being torn to pieces by a high-pressure macerator. COK Investigation at a North Carolina Turkey Hatchery Video shot by hatchery employee includes scenes of chicks gasping for air as they slowly suffocate in plastic bags. While employed at a North Carolina turkey hatchery that now supplies Butterball, a COK investigator documented the conditions forced upon newly-hatched chicks. As the investigation video shows, from the moment they're hatched, these turkeys are submerged into a world of misery. Dumped out of metal trays and jostled onto conveyor belts after being mechanically separated from cracked egg shells, the newly-hatched turkeys are tossed around like inanimate objects -- they are sorted, ***ed, de-beaked, de-toed, and in some cases de-snooded before they are packed up and shipped off to a "grow out" confinement facility. The video further reveals that not all chicks survive this harsh process. Countless chicks become mangled from the machinery, suffocated in plastic bags, or deemed "surplus" and dumped (along with injured chicks) into the same disposal system as the discarded egg shells they were separated from hours earlier.

McMurray Hatchery's Best Automatic Chicken Coop Controller - Full Detail McMurray Hatchery's Best Chicken Coop Controller is more than just a door opener. It does open the coop door a few min before sunrise and close the door a few minutes after sunset with use of an electronic light sensor. The door can also be operated manual with the use of a three-position toggle switch; Night, Day, and Automatic Modes. The controller is also equipped with a temperature sensor that will not allow the door to open until outside temperature is above 25 degree F. This feature protects your birds from freezing temperatures and also helps keep your coop warmer. If the outdoor temperatures rise above 25 degrees F. any time during daylight the door will automatically open. It will remain open until a few minutes after sunset.
