NBC station WRC, Pat Collins Wears Grape Costume to Interview Student Suspended For Banana Costume First Amendment, NBC Affiliate WRC, Washington, DC Washington, DC stations have been folllowing recently was the case of Bryan Thompson, a 14-year-old student at Colonial Forge High School who was suspended for running onto the field during a school football game — wearing a banana costume — earlier this month. Thompson was interviewed by WRC reporter Pat Collins this week (watch the video, above). Thompson wore the infamous banana suit, and Collins, not to be outdone, dressed like a grape, in a not-so-subtle attempt to make the point that Thompson was doing nothing wrong. "It starts with a banana," Collins said in his report. "Then all of a sudden you have an apple, and an orange, and then maybe a grape, and before you know it, you have fruit salad in the schools. We can't have that." Students who protested Thompson's 10-day suspension were given detention. Faced with an onslaught of criticism — from reports like this one, as well as advocacy groups like the ACLU, school principal Karen Spillman resigned on Wednesday. All the suspensions were lifted. The crazy lifestyle of getting barely any sleep, pollution, stress and exhaustion has made my skin dull and sluggish. Here is an effective mask that brightens, tones, cleanses and tightens the skin. Yes- this mask is uber because it cleanses the skin by detoxing it. It was taught to me by Mandy. A lovely beauty consultant who swears by home remedies. This mask is designed to prep up the skin when it is exhausted or strained. Grapes are one of the best detoxifiers. They are also welknown to be anti-aging. This mask is quick and easy to make. You can really just pop into your kitchen and make amazing beauty remedies just like that. A lot of expensive products you use or see today all use extracts from plants/fruits/vegetables. These are easily at reach in your own homes. Try it yourself and you will see/feel the amazing results. If you don't have the ingredients at home already- you will be able to find it easily at your local supermarket. This mask can be used once-twice a week. I would especially reccommend this mask after a night out or a long day a polluted city. When your texture of your skin is improved- you will find your makeup even looks better. Grapes to Raisins Time Lapse Grapes become raisins right before your very eyes in only 30 seconds! This is a phenomenon that you aren't going to want to miss! Is it magic? Religion? Science? I refuse to reveal my methods. Except for these few things... This video took over 3 months to shoot. I shot it with a Sony VX2100 mini dv video camera in "interval record" mode. The camera shot a half second of video every 10 minutes. In total, I had over 90 minutes of tape that I condensed to 30 seconds. In all, the final product is over 250000 times faster than reality (could someone please check my math). I edited this video with Final Cut Pro. The song is "Sonique_30" which was purchased from the Studiocutz Music Library. The grapes were from Giant Eagle. I apologize about the shaking in the video. I used a new setup with boards under the camera and fruit that I thought would make it more stable. Unfortunately, changes in temperature and humidity caused the boards to warp up and down. It was unnoticeable in real time, but very noticeable when the tape was sped up so much. I used keyframes to reduce the shaking and even though it's not perfect I think I came up with something that is very watchable. I couldn't bear to throw out 3 months worth of shooting - which is what I might have to do with my Kiwi video if something doesn't start happening soon. Those are some stubborn fruits. Tune in to see how it turns out.
