The Radius of the inner curve is 20mm. The total angle of the beam is 60 degrees. The Force in the graph is the load in the center of top 3 nodes of the beam. The Displacement is the displacement of the center of the beam. The reason this problem has significance is because it is geometrically nonlinear. If you try to solve this in your FEA program, it may fail because Force vs Displacement is not monotonically increasing. Force in most mechanically nonlinear-static finite element problems is similar to time in numerically solving Differential Equation. Time is always monotonically increasing so this type of numerical problem is not an issue for a dynamic solver. Most FEA programs incrementally add force which is fine until the the stiffness of the beam goes to zero (ie slope of force vs displacement is zero); here the FEA solver will normally fail unless you use displacement as your monotonically increasing variable or you use Riks Method. Riks Method uses the arc length of Force vs Displacement as the monotonically increasing variable. Note that in this ***ysis, time has no real meaning. It is a quasi-static ***ysis.

Finally, we introduce a fully automated feature-based technique that matches surface areas (feature regions) with similar topological characteristics between the two morphed objects and performs morphing according to this feature correspondence list. Alignment is obtained without user intervention based on pattern matching between the feature graphs of the two morphed objects.

First of all, I have created four simply polygonal mesh (a cube and three spheres) to create the crown of the URJC's logo. The spheres in the crown have a twist transformation to simulate a spin around a center axis. Another polygonal mesh contain the text "MIGJRV 10/11". I've applied 2 basic deformations over the text, an extrusion of the letters and a bend deformation between the frames 0 and 120 to create a manual simple jiggle effect based on the bend transformation. After that, I decided to make the text "URJC" and apply two simply physically based techniques on it: - A spring connect the base of the crown and the "u", so the letter is considered as an active rigid body and the base as the passive rigid body. To make the damping effect I've just key the attributes of Dumping, Stiffness and Spring Rest Length on the frames 0 and 120. After that the crown translate near the floor (and therefore the "u" which is still connected to the spring) until the frame 240. - The rest of the letters (created as active rigid bodies) just follow the gravity rules after the frame 240, to do that I've key the gravity magnitude from 0 to 9.8 between the frames 240 and 260.
