**A geometrical proof of the embedding of a non-planar complete graph in 3-space without crossings**In graph theory, a planar graph is a graph which can be embedded in the plane, ie, it can be drawn on the plane in such a way that its edges intersect only at their endpoints. A planar graph already drawn in the plane without edge intersections is called a plane graph or planar embedding of the graph. The Polish mathematician Kazimierz Kuratowski provided a characterization of planar graphs in terms of forbidden graphs, now known as Kuratowski's theorem: "A finite graph is planar if and only if it does not contain a subgraph that is a subdivision of K_5 (the complete graph on five vertices) or K_3,3 (complete bipartite graph on six vertices, three of which connect to each of the other three)." (In the Soviet Union, Kuratowski's theorem was known as the Pontryagin-Kuratowski theorem, as its proof was allegedly first given in Pontryagin's unpublished notes. By a long-standing academic tradition, such references are not taken into account in determining priority, so the Russian name of the theorem is not acknowledged internationally.) This paper sketches a puzzle that arises when one puts the existence of this theorem alongside a standard way of thinking about symmetries, according to which spacetime symmetries are associated with features of the spacetime structure. The puzzle is that the existence of a CPT theorem seems to show that it is not possible for a well- formulated theory that does not make use of a preferred frame or foliation to make use of a temporal orientation. Since a manifold with only a Lorentzian metric can be temporally orientable, this is an odd sort of necessary connection between distinct existences. The paper then suggests a solution to the puzzle: the CPT theorem arises because temporal orientation is unlike other pieces of spacetime structure, in that one cannot represent it by a tensor field.**3D Geometrical Simulation of a LOSC : Girassol**3D Geometrical Simulations of LOSCs (Laterally Offset Stacked Channels) Reservoir modeling commonly requires a description of sedimentary heterogeneity on a scale smaller than that given by seismic resolution. In particular, complexes of Laterally Offset Stacked turbidite Channels (LOSCs) require a description at the scale of individual channel bodies, while seismic data only displays the outside geometry of their lateral stack, ie a turbidite fairway. The most common representation of channels in a fairway is by stochastic object modeling; ie, populating the observed fairway by realistic shapes representing individual channels, but without ensuring a consistency between the individual channels. On the other hand, one essential characteristic of LOSCs is to evolve by progressive migration laterally and/or downdip. Stochastic object modeling fails to adequately represent this progressive evolution, and therefore provides a poor rendering of the distribution of heterogeneity in the reservoir. The method we propose consists in defining a realistic succession of individual channels that can build the fairway observed on seismic. "Realism" is defined using criteria on the shape of individual channels, and on the amount of displacement that is allowed between successive episodes. Depending on seismic resolution, the system can be constrained by one or several positions of individual channels (the last position of the channel is often filled by shale, therefore visible on ...**Mod-3 Lec-1 Complex Numbers&Their Geometrical Representation**Lecture Series on Mathematics - II by Prof.HGSharma, Department of Mathematics, IIT Roorkee. Gastopoulos, and PE Arratia (Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA 19104, USA),"Splash control using geometric targets," ArXiv, October 15, 2010 [video submitted to the American Physical Society division of fluid dynamics annual meeting showcase, the Gallery of Fluid Motion 2010]. "Experiments of water droplets impacting small geometric posts of equal dimension to the drop diameter are shown in this fluid dynamics video. High speed photography shows that the dynamics of drop splashing are significantly affected by the geometrical boundary of the target and that finger formation and drop break up are accurately controlled. When a liquid drop impacts with a smooth solid dry surface, it will expand horizontally outward until internal and external forces create asymmetry. This instability leads to the droplet breaking apart in a "splash". This fluid dynamics video investigates impacts between fluid droplets and geometrical substrates of equal length scale. The liquid is composed of de-ionized water and food coloring, for image enhancement purposes. Liquid drops are created by allowing water at room temperature to slowly drip out of a small capillary tube. Drops fallfrom a height of 13 cm before striking the target, hitting the surface with a velocity of 2 m/s resulting in a Reynolds (Re) number equal to 540 and a Weber (We) number equal to 250. Vanegas, Daniel G. Aliaga, Bedrich Benes, Paul A. Waddell - Purdue University - University of California, Berkeley - The main contribution of our work is in closing the loop between behavioral and geometrical modeling of cities. Editing of urban design variables is performed intuitively and visually using a graphical user interface. Any design variable can be constrained or changed. The design process uses an iterative dynamical system for reaching equilibrium: a state where the demands of behavioral modeling match those of geometrical modeling. 3D models are generated in a few seconds and conform to plausible urban behavior and urban geometry. Our framework includes an interactive agent-based behavioral modeling system as well as adaptive geometry generation algorithms. We demonstrate interactive and incremental design and editing for synthetic urban spaces spanning over 200 square kilometers.**Catia Tutorial | Beginner | How to use Geometrical Sets in CATIA V5**More... catia- Tutorials from website cad-software.pl | Propably the best forum about CAD in Poland**Geometrical image segmentation**Based on the model presented by K.Mikula, V.Chalupecky and M.Benes.**Observation of Topological and Geometrical Effects by Neutron Interferometry**Lecturer: Sam Werner "50 years of the Aharonov-Bohm Effect", An international convention held at the Tel Aviv University, 11-14.10.09**Geometrical Construction Mathematics Form Two**To construct a triangle given the length of the sides, to construct a perpendicular to a line and to construct angle of 60 degrees**01 Introduction to Basic Geometrical ideas**CBSE Mathematics, Class 6, Ch 4 Basic geometrical ideas This video provides an overview of the complete chapter
