Munro Geal Charn 1049m (White Peak) Panoramic view from the summit of the munro Geal Charn 1049m near loch Laggan in Lochaber. August 2010. Parked car at layby on A86 just along from Moy 0900. Crossed bridge over river Spean and continued along track to Lochan Na Hearba. Followed stalkers path up to bealach (1105) and climbed south ridge over top at 977m. Continued along ridge to reach stony summit and large cairn (1205).Returned to bealach (1305). Continued North along stalkers path for 15 mins and then climbed east up to reach large stone cairn and trig point at the summit of Geal Charn 1049m (1405) Descended West ridge to bealeach before a short steep climb to summit cairn of the munro Creag Pitridh (1505). Descended SW to reach stalkers path and returned to car 1720.

Judo Black Belt Geal Dur Wiktor Svensson of Tiger Muay Thai and MMA training camp, competing in the TMC 1 main event dominates in his MMA debut with a 1st round RNC submission against Judo Black Belt Geal Dur of Evolution MMA. Wiktor Svennson has been training at Tiger Muay Thai and MMA training facility in Phuket Thailand for 20 months. He is a BJJ Blue Belt under Professor Tony Eduardo and MMA coach Ray Elbe. Wiktor won gold in the recent FBT Thailand Brazilian Jiu Jitsu open in the advanced 90 and absolute divisions. Notice the superb Ground and Pound elbow techniques showcased by Wiktor. My Fair Young Love (Mo Run Geal Og) A Scottish lament written by a lady who lost her husband in the battle of Culloden; essentially a slaughter delivered by the English in 1746. It's a rather uncommon piece. I've chosen to play it much more slowly than usual for the sake of it being a lament, I believe it should be just that. A special thanks to Luca Bezzini, check out his videos when you get the chance.

Gràdh geal mo chridhe Maggie Bennett, Christine Primrose and Talitha MacKenzie at the Sabhal Mor Ostaig ("Big Barn of Ostaig" - the Gaelic College) ceilidh, singing "Gràdh geal mo chridhe" ("The Eriskay Love Lilt"). The first bit of it isn't filmed, because I'm dumb. Three points to this: 1. This song was preceded by a somewhat lengthy monologue in Gaelic, wherein the only word I could pick up was "bellydancing." That really didn't prepare me for the singing. 2. Impromptu!public singalongs are a secret weakness of mine, so you can imagine the goosebumps when everyone in the room joined in on the chorus. 3. And apparently the three women had never sung together before, though I find that utterly impossible to believe. Unless everyone on Isle of Skye is magical. (Which the fiddler and the bagpipe player who came on later proved they might as well be. What I'm saying is it was an impressive night.)
