Entry from: Orange River/ Fish River Canyon, Namibia Entry Title: "Kayaking and Canyons" Entry: "Day three was our longest drive yet as we made our way to the Namibian border. We are getting used to the truck (when we aren't calling it a bus or a van). Learning the tricks of the trade such as sticking the toilet roll out the window when you want to stop for a call of nature or sticking your head out the window when you want to take a photo. Stopped in Springbok (the national animal of South Africa and also the name given to their rugby team). Managed to check our email where we read some interesting stories from our friends Claudia and Finn who have just come from were we are going. Lets say we'll tell you about them when we get home but looks like exciting times lie ahead. No hassle at the border crossing apart from the guard asking Liam to explain why his month of birth was wrong on his passport and Liam had to give a quick lesson in the Irish language. Stayed at a fantastic campsite on the edge of the Orange River. Great facilities and fresh, soft grass which makes a huge difference when you are camping! Bangers and mash for tea or what are known locally as 'Boerewors' meaning farmer's sausage. Bit of southern star gazing before a good night's sleep. Day four was a bit more strenuous. Did a ...
