This drill is called the "Mikan Drill" and has been used by everyone from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to Shaq because it will get you comfortable using either hand to put the ball in the rim. Even though this drill is classically thought of as a "Big Man" drill, we believe that it is for all players, especially if you plan on taking the ball to the hoop. Watch and learn the basics in using LusterStone for your next faux finish project. --- Audio: Hi, we are FauxEver Beautiful Studios, and we have been doing and teaching faux finishing for 30 years. And for the next 3 minutes, we're going to teach you this gorgeous faux finish using LusterStone. What you have just viewed are some finishings done with this amazing product. What you are watching right now is the first step for your LusterStone finished room. This is called the roll paint, simply because it is rolled on. We recommend a Wiz roller for this step because it rolls nicely right into your corners and ceilings and rarely needs a brush. When rolling this material, don't roll like a painter up and down. That would be wrong. Watch the video closely, and you'll see we're rolling randomly, all directions, and unevenly, varying the amounts of plaster being rolled on. Now, even though we are using a plaster called LusterStone, the end result of this finish is a very smooth finish, and can be painted over years later of course. This LusterStone technique is a 3 step process, and what you have been watching has been Step 1, the roll coat. Now, we're ready to move to Step 2, the trowel coat. DuraCoat Firearm Finishing Intro by Nutnfancy Paint is a quick way to get the color you want on your gun and lots of troops just shoot their gun with some Krylon and call it good. But it's not durable and most paints wear quickly. Enter DuraCoat by Lauer Weaponry in Wisconsin. They make a huge variety of durable epoxy finishes for guns that promise to wear extremely well. Moreover YOU, yes YOU, can even apply it. This is a quick video showing my application of "Stone" color DuraCoat to a Remington 700P .300WM rifle after appropriate preparation. The DuraCoat "Level II Starter Kit" includes an airbrush, air hose and couplings, 15 oz propellant can (which didn't work well for me... had to use hobby air compressor for good results), mixing bottle, color bottle, mask, gloves, measuring spoons, 2 oz reducer, 1 oz TruLube (not used), and good instructions. Surface preparation is the most time consuming task; you'll need to rough up smooth surfaces for preparation (Lauer also sells metal prep liquids which I feel are unnecessary). Make sure you do this in a ventilated area as shown. Results are impressive and I suspect I will be using their camo stencil kits in the future. Downsides are more expense (but much cheaper than other finishes like Robar's NP3), more work than painting and it might be hard to relate the catalog color to your desired shade (mine was lighter than depicted)./////////////Nutnfancy Initial Likeability Scale: 9 out of 10
