For all that beauty that doth cover thee, Is but the seemly raiment of my heart, Which in thy breast doth live, as thine in me: How can I then be elder than thou art? O! therefore love, be of thyself so wary As I, not for myself, but for thee will; Bearing thy heart, which I will keep so chary As tender nurse her babe from faring ill. • Mea Culpa (2010) Trailer I am not what I was. I was not what I should have been. I did not become what I should have become. I did not keep what I should have kept. Mea Culpa is a physical/visual exploration of guilt based on Peter Handkes play Self-Accusation: a stream of actions presented in the past juxtaposed with the rules they break. As social beings, we are bound by moral, religious, social and ethical rules; the choice to abide by them or to break them, is the individuals responsibility. Man is alone in these choices and in the responsibilities and consequences these same choices entail. Using a range of performance tools, Mea Culpa questions not only the origins of guilt but, more importantly, also its possible consequences. Is guilt in itself powerful enough to expiate our deeds or does it lead us inexorably to self-destruction? And is anyone ever able to escape its clutches? Mea Culpa is a practice-led research project exploring the narrative potential of movement and images on stage. • ANOMALIES IN SPACE !!! NEPTUNE !! 827 "Christ, 'holy, innocent, and undefiled,' knew nothing of sin, but came only to expiate the sins of the people. The Church, however, clasping sinners to her bosom, at once holy and always in need of purification, follows constantly the path of penance and renewal."299 All members of the Church, including her ministers, must acknowledge that they are sinners.300 In everyone, the weeds of sin will still be mixed with the good wheat of the Gospel until the end of time.301 Hence the Church gathers sinners already caught up in Christ's salvation but still on the way to holiness: The Church is therefore holy, though having sinners in her midst, because she herself has no other life but the life of grace. If they live her life, her members are sanctified; if they move away from her life, they fall into sins and disorders that prevent the radiation of her sanctity. This is why she suffers and does penance for those offenses, of which she has the power to free her children through the blood of Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit.302 828 By canonizing some of the faithful, ie, by solemnly proclaiming that they practiced heroic virtue and lived in fidelity to God's grace, the Church recognizes the power of the Spirit of holiness within her and sustains the hope of believers by proposing the saints to them as models and intercessors.303 "The saints have always been the source and origin of renewal in the most difficult moments in the Church's history."304 Indeed, "holiness is ...

  • The Monty Collier Report: The Doctrine of Imputation (1) A critical part of the doctrine Justification By Faith Alone and the doctrine of Vicarious Atonement is the doctrine of Imputation. Indeed, Justification By Faith Alone and Vicarious Atonement are impossible without the forensic act of imputation. The Covenant of Works, the Covenant of Grace, and even the Covenant of Redemption all make use of imputation. In the Covenant of Works, Adam is our Covenant representative. "In Adam's fall, we sinned all," for his first transgression was not only layed to his account, but it was layed to the accounts of all who proceed after him by natural generation. In the Covenant of Grace, Jesus Christ is our Covenant Representative. In this better Covenant, the sins of the elect are imputed to Christ. Without the sins of the elect being layed to Christ's account, then Christ could not expiate our sins (take the penalty), He could not propitiate (appease) God's wrath for us: He could not pay the ransome by purchasing the elect with His blood (for Christ Himself was sinless). Without God reckoning our sins to Christ, none of this could happen. However, the Covenant of Grace also teaches us that the righteousness of Christ (the active and passive of obedience of Christ)is also imputed to the elect. Just as our sin being charged to Christ's account enabled Jesus to pay the penalty for sin, the righteousness of Christ being reckoned to the accounts of the elect fulfills the law of God in that it provides the positive righteousness we owe the law ...
  • Leo Marjane - Bei mir bist du schön (Secunda), 1938 There is a popular myth that when the Andrews Sisters released their hugely successful recording of Sholom Secunda's "Bei Mir Bist Du Schön" in 1938, the composer's mother was so distraught, she fasted for a week to expiate her sins. The reason for her distress? Only two months earlier, her son had sold the rights to the song for a mere thirty dollars! The composer had no idea the song would become such a hit. Written in 1932, "Bei Mir Bist Du Schön" (translation: "To Me You Are Beautiful") was part of a Yiddish operetta called "I Would If I Could", written in 1932 by Abraham Bloom, with music by Secunda and lyrics by his writing partner, Jacobs. Within two months of the sale, a little-known musical trio called the Andrews Sisters recorded a newly adapted English-language version of the song, with lyrics by Sammy Cahn and Saul Chaplin. The only Yiddish that remained was the title, repeated throughout the song. Released by Decca Records, it became the Andrews Sisters' first major hit record. "Bei Mir Bist Du Schön" quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. The Russians loved it so much that they claimed it as their own. It was even a hit in Germany under the *** regime—that is, until it was discovered that the composer and lyricist were Jewish, whereupon the song was promptly banned. French vedette of the 1930s and 1940s, Léo Marjane, who was recording many international hits, redorded this one for Disque Gramophone in 1938, in French and in English versions.

  • Heartbreak in My Jar This is a song I wrote for an English project at school. We had to write a song using specific vocabulary words, so my group decided to do a country song. I had too much fun writing this song. I dedicate this video to Jessica Colindres and Steven Vasquez. Enjoy. Lyrics: As I vulnerably swallow, my drink in the car, The sound of my heartbreak, reverberated from the bar. As I think about the lassitude, knowing love is to transmute, I forgive you for the heartbreak in my jar. The thing about our love, is that it transcended. Until you started infringing, then it jadedly descended. As I elicit your proclivity, I discover your activity, I forgive you for the heartbreak in my jar. You never commiserated, for the state of my decadence, And you never assuaged me, for my sedulous excellence. As you wheedle for my wallet, you forget that I am petulant. I forgive you for the heartbreak in my jar. As I slowly ameliorate, from my consternation, I suddenly expiate you, for your callow explanation. As I occult my aplomb, my amnesty explodes like a bomb. I forgive you for the heartbreak in my jar.
  • Mondial - Atat de frageda So fresh thou art Women in universal painting.... Lyrics Mihai Eminescu So fresh thou art Thou scarcely touchest the soft carpet, The silk on thee doth rustling stream, From top to toe so light and lofty, Thou floatest like an airy dream. From draping folds like purest marble Thine image unto me appears, My whole soul on thine eyes is hanging, Those eyes so full of joy and tears. O happy dream of love, so happy, Thou bride of fairy tales, so mild, No, do not smile! Thy smille doth show me How sweet thou art, thou gentle child. My poor eyes thou canst close for ever With deepest night's eternal charms, With thy sweet lips' sweet fondling, whispers, Embracing me with thy cool arms. A veiling thought at once now passes Thy glowing eyes thus covering: It is the dark renunciation, The sweetest yearning's shadowing. Thou go'st away and, well I know it, To follow thee must I no more, Thou art for me now lost for ever, My soul's dear bride, whom I adore. My only guilt was that I saw thee, Which I to pardon have no might, Mine arm I'll stretch for ever vainly To expiate my dream of light. Like holy Virgin's purest image In my fond eyes thou will rise now, The brightest crown on forehead bearing, Where dost thou go? When comest thou?

  • SECRET SPACE THE DOCUMENTARY !! UFO S AND ALIENS !! 6 Satisfaction 1459 Many sins wrong our neighbor. One must do what is possible in order to repair the harm (eg, return stolen goods, restore the reputation of someone slandered, pay compensation for injuries). Simple justice requires as much. But sin also injures and weakens the sinner himself, as well as his relationships with God and neighbor. Absolution takes away sin, but it does not remedy all the disorders sin has caused.62 Raised up from sin, the sinner must still recover his full spiritual health by doing something more to make amends for the sin: he must "make satisfaction for" or "expiate" his sins. This satisfaction is also called "penance." 1460 The penance the confessor imposes must take into account the penitent's personal situation and must seek his spiritual good. It must correspond as far as possible with the gravity and nature of the sins committed. It can consist of prayer, an offering, works of mercy, service of neighbor, voluntary self-denial, sacrifices, and above all the patient acceptance of the cross we must bear. Such penances help configure us to Christ, who alone expiated our sins once for all. They allow us to become co-heirs with the risen Christ, "provided we suffer with him."63 The satisfaction that we make for our sins, however, is not so much ours as though it were not done through Jesus Christ. We who can do nothing ourselves, as if just by ourselves, can do all things with the cooperation of "him who strengthens" us. Thus man has nothing ...

Some Examples From The Culture of Catholic Literature and Their Effects In consideration that 2009 has been declared by Pope Benedict to be The Year of the Priest, Dr. Hickson pays tribute in this exquisite eulogium to several priests who either died ministering to soldiers on the Russian front, or survived the same that they might be a living witness to the heroic sacrifices unto death of those men (and their suffering families) who were the victims chosen by God to expiate the sins of Christendom. With Eugenio Corti's historical novel, The Red Horse, and his war memoirs, The Last Soldiers of the King: Wartime Italy, 1943-1945, as his references, Dr. Hickson introduces the deeper realities of Catholic culture as they manifested themselves in confrontation with the theatre of war and death, in conjunction with the human wills awesome power to embrace hope or despair, eternal life or everlasting death, in the most oppressing and horrific of circumstances. To carry the gift of supernatural hope to the very end, with faith and charity, to persevere unto death, as our speaker so forcefully underlines, is the magnum donum, the great gift of God. • BLACK TRANSFORMING UFO NASA STS FOOTAGE !! NEW CRAFT ?? CHAPTER THREE I BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT ARTICLE 10 "I BELIEVE IN THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS" 976 The Apostle's Creed associates faith in the forgiveness of sins not only with faith in the Holy Spirit, but also with faith in the Church and in the communion of saints. It was when he gave the Holy Spirit to his apostles that the risen Christ conferred on them his own divine power to forgive sins: "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."520 (Part Two of the catechism will deal explicitly with the forgiveness of sins through Baptism, the sacrament of Penance, and the other sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Here it will suffice to suggest some basic facts briefly.) * I. ONE BAPTISM FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS 977 Our Lord tied the forgiveness of sins to faith and Baptism: "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved."521 Baptism is the first and chief sacrament of forgiveness of sins because it unites us with Christ, who died for our sins and rose for our justification, so that "we too might walk in newness of life."522 978 "When we made our first profession of faith while receiving the holy Baptism that cleansed us, the forgiveness we received then was so full and complete that there remained in us absolutely nothing left to efface, neither original sin nor offenses committed by our own will, nor was there left any ...

Destroy it all before we all recall. Yes... we need a change. 'cause we are sick and the cure is out of range and if we could, I don't think you would. Go... dig your own grave. As you can see there's nothing left to save. Go bite the hand that gave you a place to stand. Till the end of time, before we're forced to die. We need to fight it. This is the day when you want to stay. Till the end of time, we expiate our crime. We need to take it. This is the day when you want to pray. • Seventy Ways to Earn Reward From Allah 1 of 7 All praise is due to Allah alone, may He send salutations and exalt the mention of the seal of all prophets and messengers, our messenger Muhammad, his family and all his companions. It's from the mercy of Allah that He has legislated many deeds through which people can earn great rewards. In this leaflet, I'll mention some of the acts which Muslims should exert extra effort in performing in order to increase their account in their record of good deeds. 1- Repentance done sincerely for Allah Messenger of Allah said "Allah will forgive the sins of anybody who repents before the sun rises from the west (ie a major sign for the Day of Judgment)." [Muslim] He also said "Allah accepts the repentance of His slaves until the time of their death (ie when the soul is departing) [Tirmidhi] 2- Umrah during Ramadan Messenger of Allah said "Performing Umrah during it (Ramadan) is like performing Hajj with me" [Bukhari & Muslim] 3- Recitation of the Quran Messenger of Allah said "Recite the Quran, for it'll intercede for you (with Allah) on the day of Judgment" [Muslim] 4- Learning and teaching the Quran Messenger of Allah said "The best amongst you is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it to others" [Bukhari] 5- The mention of Allah Messenger of Allah said "Shall I not tell you about the best of your deeds, the most pure (ie righteous and sincere) of them to your Creator, that which will entitle you to the highest ranks, which is better for you than donating gold and silver for ...
  • I'VE LOST MY MIND - Musical Short Movie "I've lost my mind." What could be considered a small grotesque musical . The journey without return of a young man who burned his young age in vices and bad companies, which realizes what he is really losing too late, taking paths in which he believed to be the master, when he was no more than one of the many victims of that round of "destruction", where more and more young people, as him, are sucked into an abyss. Drugs, alcohol, violence. A current purgatory, therefore less classical, more like an eternal cage, where expiate sins after physical and mental tortures. The redemption is mental, the return uncertain. Singing, the boy refers to his "poor age", yet unripe, which escapes of hand, to understand love, not able to be without, asks forgiveness now that have really understood what he is losing, but at the same time on charges of not be left next to having lied on what obviously had always believed and hoped if nothing else. Locked up in a terrificous "cage" with in his hand only the feeling of emptiness, desolation, deep death. **"Guest of Honor" at the "Tremestieri in Corto Film Festival 2008"**
  • Quran Recitation - Chapter 3/ Verse 190 - 200 الحسن عبدالله برعيه Sura/Chapter 3 , Verse 190 - 200 In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding. (190) Those who remember Allâh (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted are You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire. (191) "Our Lord! Verily, whom You admit to the Fire, indeed, You have disgraced him, and never will the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) find any helpers. (192) "Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one (Muhammad SAW) calling to Faith: Believe in your Lord, and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and expiate from us our evil deeds, and make us die (in the state of righteousness) along with Al-Abrâr (the pious believers of Islamic Monotheism). (193) "Our Lord! Grant us what You promised unto us through Your Messengers and disgrace us not on the Day of Resurrection, for You never break (Your) Promise." (194) So their Lord accepted of them (their supplication and answered them), "Never will I allow to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female. You are (members) one of another, so those who emigrated and were driven out from their homes, and suffered ...

  • Handel - Samson "With plaintive notes" Delilah's aria Handel's Samson was completed in 1741 shortly after Messiah. "With plaintive notes" is the aria in which Delilah apologises for her betrayal of Samson. The trills ingeniously convey her sophisticated insincerity. "With doubtful feet and wavering resolution I come, oh Samson, dreading thy displeasure. But conjugal affection led me on, prevailing over fear and tim'rous doubt. Glad if in aught my help or love could serve to expiate my rash, unthought misdeed. With plaintive notes and am'rous moan, thus coos the turtle left alone" Soprano Yvonne Fuller
  • Who is Jesus Christ? Hope you like my new video. Prayer: My God, I believe in Thee; do Thou strengthen my faith. All my hopes are in Thee; do Thou secure them. I love Thee with my whole heart; teach me to love Thee daily more and more. I am sorry that I have offended Thee; do Thou increase my sorrow. I adore Thee as my first beginning. I aspire after Thee as my last end. I give Thee thanks as my constant Benefactor. I call upon Thee as my sovereign Protector. Vouchsafe, O my God, to conduct me by Thy wisdom, to restrain me by Thy justice, to conform me by Thy mercy, and to defend me by Thy power. To Thee I desire to consecrate all my thoughts, words, actions, and sufferings; that henceforward I may think of Thee, speak of Thee, willingly refer all my actions to Thy greater glory, and suffer willingly whatever Thou shalt appoint. Lord, I desire that in all things Thy will may be done; because it is Thy will, and in the manner that Thou willest. I beg of Thee to enlighten my understanding, to inflame my will, to purify my body, and to sanctify my soul. Give me strength, O my God, to expiate my offences, to overcome temptations, to subdue my passions, and to acquire the virtues proper for my state. Fill my heart with tender affection for Thy goodness, hatred for my faults, love for my neighbour, and contempt of the world. May Thy grace help me to be submissive to my superiors, condescending to my inferiors, faithful to my friends, and charitable to my enemies. Assist me to overcome sensuality by ...
