The movements are within the ecliptic/zodiac from our geocentric point of view on Earth! No house cusps are displayed because this is the mundane global animated chart and movement without any dependency to local coordinates. A mundane chart presents the so-called time quality frame of reference. View it in full screen mode. You may use it as a preview or an visual animated ephemeris for September 2011. The positions are calculated very accurate (take into account gravitational perturbations, light time, abberation, nutation, Delta-T etc.) by the Swiss astrological software Vision IV (www.astrosoft.ch). Computations are presented in 1 hour time steps throughout the whole month. The Moon "jumps" a bit due to the time step of 1 hour every day and because it moves very fast. • Sidereal Astro-Ephemeris-Movie for January 2010 This animation shows the movements of all planets, Sun, Moon and the three Centaurs Chiron, Pholus, Nessus within BOTH the normal tropical ecliptic/zodiac (inner circle with grey symbols for the twelve signs) AND the sidereal wheel of constellations (coloured outer circle)! The positions of the planets is shown within the table to the right in sidereal coordinates with respect to the constellations. The angles between the planets are the same as in the other animation. The shift between both zodiacs reflects the precession of the equinoxes: The tropical zodiac starts at the vernal equinox which is the 0° of Aries. This Aries (inner circle lefthand) is within the constellation Pisces due to the effect of the precession. The positions are in hourly steps starting from 1/1/2010 until 1/31/2010 for Greenwhich UK, in UT (Universal Time). Use as learning tool and as daily/hourly ephemeris for November. Use the other animation to get normal astrological positions within the standard (precessed) zodiac (inner circle). Modern astrology works only for special purposes with the constellations. Their use is difficult due to the fact that the constellations vary in their extent. The standard zodiac takes into account the precession and divides the 360° circle into 12 equal 30° signs. The animation was generated using Vision IV, www.astrosoft.ch and standard public domain video compression codecs. It was generated by Robert von Heeren on November 7 2009. ...

These fif*** lenticular text images refer to Benjamin's famous essay, "Ausgraben und Erinnern" (Walter Benjamin, Ausgraben und Erinnern, in: ders., Gesammelte Schriften, Bd. IV.1, hg. von Tillmann Rexroth, Frankfurt aM 1972, S. 400 f.) The texts are derived from online epigraphic databases of ancient inscriptions maintained by European and North American Archaelogical research institutions. Commentaries to thousands of papyrus, stone, clay and wax inscriptions were collected from these databases, specifically chosen for content refering to readability and fragmentation. Lenticular technology was chosen as an perceptually interactive means of display. Each work contains up to five text layers, which are viewable as text fragments from varying viewing positions, and which seem to "overwite" each other as in a "palimpsest".

  • How to Use the Photographer's Ephemeris Stephen Trainor's "The Photographers Ephemeris" is an excellent tool for predicting when and where the sun or moon will be at any time of the day at nearly any location in the world. Knowledge of where the sun or moon can be can greatly aid in photography during the golden hours - or any hour for that matter. In this video Steven Christenson of shows how to determine when the rising sun will strike an arch, and what time of day and what location to be in to catch the sun setting on Mt. Whitney - the tallest mountain in the lower 48. The techniques shown here can be used anywhere else, too.
