  • STTNGS07E23 emergence 45 STTNGS07E23 emergence Emergence" is a seventh season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, which featured many surrealist elements. Lieutenant Commander Data is once again working on his acting, portraying Prospero from Shakespeare's play "The Tempest" on the holodeck. Without warning a train, the Orient Express from another program, roars through the holodeck. Elsewhere on the ship, a planetary survey is in progress, and Captain Picard gives the order to move to the next sector when the Enterprise suddenly goes into warp. Just as suddenly, the engines stop by themselves. Geordi La Forge discovers a theta flux distortion had been building up on the ship, and concludes that had the Enterprise not gone into warp precisely when it did, the ship would have been destroyed. Data theorizes that the Enterprise sensors picked up the distortion and triggered a safety feature, one that is not known to have been part of the ship's design. Investigating some, Geordi and Data discover a strange node that now interconnects many Enterprise systems, including the sensors and propulsion. Searching more, they discover nodes like it all over the Enterprise, all protected by small force fields. Suspecting sabotage, Commander Riker, Data and Worf head to the holodeck where many of the nodes converge, to try to disconnect them. They discover the holodeck is activated, and when they enter, and find themselves on board the Orient Express, along with characters from other programs. Data tries ...
  • The Emergent "Church"/Cult Documentary on PBS Here is a recent documentary on the emergent "church" that appeared on PBS. Here's the truth of the matter. Paul said, "If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ." God says, "If a man lies with a man the same as he lies with a woman, he has committed abomination." That's pretty clear. The emergents say, "We can't really be sure what God says about homo***uality." Are they trying to please God by declaring what he says or lying by saying we're not clear about it in order to please men. It's the latter, hence, as Paul says, they aren't servants of Christ.

  • The emergence of a dictatorship, see how freedom of speech and democracy was suspended in Belgium. The emergence of a dictatorship. This documentary shows how the politicians suspended freedom. Show this film to everyone you know. Politicians can change a free society and with seemingly legitimate methods can inflict a brutal blow on democracy without anyone even noticing. Politicians and journalists can take over a nation, this is how they would do it. They refuse a free and open debate, they stop reporting of vital news to keep the public uninformed, they create new laws to stop the opposition, they file false allegations and use the police and court to stop the opposition. This is not an african banarepublic, this happened in Belgium. But it's also happening in other European countries. • the stress cycle and the emergence of psychosis high res version of the model can be found here: bp0 in my video entitled "me and psychosis" i eluded to a stress model that explained how my psychosis emerged. this was something i worked out in my sessions with a cognitive therapist. a stress model is a picture of how stress is experienced, and working it out enabled me to recognise the stages of stress and take measures to stop it in its tracks before it became intense enough to cause psychosis. psychosis, btw, is when you perceive (see, hear, etc) things that aren't really there. the following is the model i eventually came up with. it attempts to link the experience of stress with the experience of psychosis. it is strictly only how i understand my own experience and therefore does not presume to be a catch-all theory of everyone's. i hope that it might in some way help anyone experiencing psychosis. it may also help anyone interested in managing stress. ------- stress is defined as when the demands of a situation exceed the normal resources available to deal with them. as normal resources were challenged, stress was marked by feelings of vulnerability. the natural coping response was to then look for threats in my environment. this active monitoring of my environment was marked by increased sensual acuity, as my body got ready to successfully fight or flee. naturally, this set of responses carries on until the demands are met or escaped. however, the demands of my situation exceeded all available ...
